Up for sale is my 2004 Audi Allroad that I thought I would never part with.
I am the original owner and have enjoyed all 102k miles.
This car has been maintained by my wife and I with regularly scheduled maintenance and anything she needs. It is in great condition, no lights on the dash, everything works as it should.
It has not been smoked in and the interior is exceedingly clean. No stains on any leather. If you can find wear on the any of the seats, you will have to look very, very closely, if you can find any at all. All the carpets are clean. No scratches or trouble with any of the wood trim. Headliner is perfect with no issues.
The ski-bag is intact and has not been deployed. Heated seats work as they should. Note dealer installed trailer hitch (used only a few times for a light sailboat and household 4x8 utility trailer)
This car drives as it should, brakes well and shifts smoothly. No shakes or shimmies of any kind.
In addition to regularly scheduled oil changes, we've taken care of any of the standard (big-ish) issues that exist with these cars as they age:
- Timing Belt replaced at 70k miles
- Air Suspension replaced (all four corners and new compressor) 90k miles
- New Battery and Alternator (Summer 2012)
- Replacement Catalytic Converters and complete Exhaust (Summer 2012)
A nine year old wagon is bound to have lived a life. This one only has a few things to call out and they are completely cosmetic:
- small ding on the hood the size of a raisin (see picture with green circle)
- a scratch on the hood (see picture)
- bent grill resulting from grazing a deer (see pictures). Absolutely no frame issues as can be seen from the picture showing the front end with the hood up
- scratches on tailgate plastic from a sporty family enjoying their station wagon
- wood grain cover on ashtray is loose but in place
- of course there are other small marks here and there, but nothing of note
I would absolutely get in this car and drive it to Alaska (I'd like to do that if someone can get me the time off).
I'm selling this car because I now have a company car and don't have the driveway space. I'd save it for my teenage son for college, but a station wagon is not his idea of "great".
I would urge you to come and take a look at the car for yourself.
I will have the car professionally detailed before delivery.

Audi RS6 Avant vs. Vauxhall VXR8 Supercharged in wagon battle
Fri, 28 Mar 2014The performance station wagon is the mature person's muscle car. As we get older, it's natural to add things like spouses, kids and dogs to our lives and each one necessitates a little more space. That doesn't mean we want to give up spirited driving though, and a quick five-door offers a great balance between needs and wants. In the latest video from Evo, we take a look at two, muscular European estates to see which is faster around a track.
Richard Meaden pits the Audi RS6 Avant and Vauxhall VXR8 Supercharged against each other; seeing that the cars go about utilizing their massive performance in very different ways. The RS6's all-wheel drive and luxury interior make it more of a scalpel around the track compared to the Vauxhall's rear-wheel drive hammer. Both offer the driver the chance to create some very smoky powerslides, though. Sadly, neither of these muscle wagons are available in North America, but scroll down to get a taste of them in the video.
Former Audi chief designer Wolfgang Egger leaves Italdesign
Sat, Dec 27 2014The latest word from the international community of automotive designers has it that Wolfgang Egger is leaving Italdesign, but just where the accomplished designer will land next and who will take his place remain big question marks. Egger is a designer who has bounced back and forth between Italy and Germany over the course of his career. He was born in Germany but studied in Milan. He began his career at Alfa Romeo in 1989 and was named its chief designer by 1993 before being head-hunted by the Volkswagen Group in 1998 to head up the design department at Seat. A few years later he went returned to Italy to run the Lancia design department, and was subsequently renamed to the same post at Alfa Romeo. In 2007 he went back to his native Germany to head up the Audi design office, over which he assumed complete responsibility by 2012, but left Audi in 2013 to run Italdesign. For those unfamiliar, Italdesign is the studio founded by Giorgetto Giugiaro (pictured at left next to Egger) back in 1968 but which, along with many other Italian design houses, fell on hard times in recent years. The Volkswagen Group swooped in to rescue the troubled studio in 2010, turning it into something of an in-house advanced design department to provide an alternative perspective on the direction in which the group and its various brands could take their respective designs moving forward. With Egger now leaving its helm, Italdesign and its German parent company will need to find his replacement, and we're sure they'll announce one in due course. The bigger question on our minds, however, is where Egger himself will head next. Given the path his career has taken to date, we wouldn't be surprised to see him land elsewhere in the Volkswagen Group or find a new role in the expanding Fiat Chrysler Automobiles empire. Then again, Egger could find it time to open an entirely new chapter. Watch this space. VW recalling 2.64M vehicles worldwide over engine, light issues
Thu, 14 Nov 2013Volkswagen is staging a massive, worldwide recall that's already grown from 1.68 million to 2.64 million vehicles and covers three different issues across a number of vehicles. We already reported on 61,000 Tiguans getting recalled over lighting issues - that was just in the US. Globally, however, VW will be recalling 800,000 Tiguans, according to Automotive News, with the focus on CUVs built between 2008 and 2011. The issue with the Tiguan relates to a simple fuse swap, so this is rather unremarkable, aside from the sheer number of vehicles being fixed. The real, troubling issues relate to gearboxes and pickups.
239,000 Amarok pickups (pictured right) are being recalled over fuel leaks, while 1.6 million vehicles are being recalled to swap the synthetic oil in dual-clutch transmissions with mineral oil. Now, the transmission issue is one for the global Volkswagen Group to address, not just the VW brand - vehicles from Audi, Škoda and Seat use the same seven-speed DSG and are covered under the recall, as well.
Why the switch from synthetic to mineral oil? Apparently, using the synthetic oil in a DSG and then subjecting it to stop-and-go conditions or heavy loads in a hot and humid climate can lead to electronic malfunctions, according to a Volkswagen press release. The switch, from the sounds of it, is largely a preventative measure.
