YOU ARE BIDDING ON A 2004 AUDI A8L THAT HAS A SALVAGED TITLE. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FROM ALLY BANK AS A INOP PARTS VEHICLE. I TRIED STARTING THE VEHICLE BUT DID NOT HAVE ANY LUCK. THE KEY ALSO SEEMS TO BE STUCK IN THE IGNITION. WHEN TRYING TO START IT UP, THE SECURITY SYSTEM BEEPS, SO MAYBE ITS A QUICK FIX BUT I AM SELLING THIS VEHICLE "AS IS" PARTS VEHICLE ONLY. AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PICTURES, THE AUDI TOOK ON SOME DAMAGE TO THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AND REAR FENDER. THE FRONT BUMPER ALSO SUSTAINED DAMAGE. THE PASSENGER MIRROR IS BROKEN. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT GO OFF. THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION DO NOT LOOK DAMAGED TO MY KNOWLEDGE. THE WHOLE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE VEHICLE LOOKS GOOD WITH NO DAMAGE AS WELL AS THE REAR BUMPER AND TRUNK. IT ALSO LOOKS LIKE THE AIR SUSPENSION INCURRED SOME DAMAGE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE SITS LOW. I BELIEVE THE FRONT TIRES ARE ALSO FLAT. THE INTERIOR LOOKS CLEAN AND EVERYTHING SEEMS INTACT. SINCE THE VEHICLE DOES NOT START, I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THE MILEAGE, BUT THE BANK SAID IT HAS BETWEEN 140K TO 150K BASED ON THE CAR FAX. I JUST DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO TINKER WITH IT, I HAVE TO MANY OTHER PROJECTS GOING ON. A FRIEND TOLD ME THE SECURITY SYSTEM MIGHT BE KEEPING IT FROM STARTING AND AUDI DEALERSHIP HAS TO RE FLASH THE COMPUTER. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE CALL ME 607-379-0429 THE VEHICLE CAN BE SEEN AT 400 SPENCER ROAD ITHACA NY 14850. THE VEHICLE HAS TO BE TOWED AWAY. Audi and Mercedes both outsell BMW in January
Tue, Feb 10 2015There won't be any celebrations in Munich this month, as BMW was outsold by arch-nemeses Audi and Mercedes-Benz. The Bavarian company finished behind Audi in January, which took the top spot for the first time since June of last year, Bloomberg reports. Ingolstadt rode high on a 10-percent bump in sales, while Mercedes saw a larger 14 percent increase. BMW, meanwhile, only saw a modest 6.3-percent sales increase last month, thanks in large part to its struggles in China. The company's sales there increased at about half the rate of its chief competitors, with a 7.9-percent jump to Mercedes and Audi's roughly 15-percent increases. Perhaps more worrying for BMW, though, is that this could become something of a trend for the company. According to Bloomberg, issues with Chinese dealers who cancelled orders over sales targets and bonuses combined with what the publication calls aging models, could spell bad news for the German marque. "This looks like a pretty significant decline in growth compared to Mercedes and Audi," Bankhaus Metzler analyst Juergen Pieper told Bloomberg. "I think this will continue during the next few months." News Source: BloombergImage Credit: Matthias Schrader / AP Earnings/Financials Audi BMW Mercedes-Benz
Recharge Wrap-up: BMW i3 carshare, Audi e-gas plant
Thu, Jul 16 2015Elix Wireless has announced its E10K Wireless Charging System. The system is designed for harsh conditions, delivers up to 10 kilowatts and features automatic detection and removal of foreign objects. Its low frequency makes it safe to operate near oil and gas, and in other hazardous environments. The system can charge personal vehicles, as well as electric buses, trucks, mining equipment and heavy duty machinery. Elix has "created an entirely new technology that meets customer demand for fast, safe and reliable charging," says, CEO David Smith. The E10K system uses Elix's Magneto-Dynamic Coupling technology, with rotating permanent magnets in the transmitter and receiver. Read more at Green Car Congress, or in the press release from Elix Wireless. FreeWire Technologies and Siemens are working together on a pilot program for the Mobi Charger. The mobile charging station, which uses second-life EV batteries to charge electric vehicles, will be deployed for a trial at LinkedIn's campus in Mountain View, CA. The Mobi is more flexible than stationary chargers in that it brings the charging to the car, regardless of where it is parked, rather than having to park the EV in a specific spot. It can charge up to five cars per day without putting stress on the grid during peak hours. Read more from Siemens. Audi's e-gas plant in Werlte, Germany helps stabilize the power grid. The plant, which produces synthetic methane using CO2, water and electricity, is able to draw six megawatts of power within five minutes, allowing it to become certified in the electricity balancing market. This helps the grid adapt to the larger load fluctuations that go hand-in-hand with generating renewable energy. It also allows the plant to achieve higher operating times and produce more e-gas each year. Read more in the press release from Audi. The BMW i3 is now available through the DriveNow carsharing service in Germany. DriveNow, which is a joint venture between BMW and car rental company Sixt, has put 100 i3s into service in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich. BMW also says that it supports a shift away from private car ownership in order to improve urban living and mobility, and sees electric carsharing as an important part of that. "We are witnessing the changes our customers and society as a whole are making and we are taking them on board," says BMW's Dr. Bernhard Blattel.
Sunday Drive: Volvo hits a crossover home run, and people still love sports cars
Sun, Sep 24 2017Looking back at the week that just was clearly tells us at least three things. First, crossovers don't have to be boring. Second, people still love sports cars, from the attainable (Audi TT RS) to the fanciful (Mercedes-AMG GT C). And finally, the traditional German trio of premium luxury brands had better not rest on their laurels, because credible challengers are coming in from every direction. The biggest reveal of the week, at least judging by the interest of Autoblog readers, was the Volvo XC40. Not only is the little 'ute a looker, it introduces some innovative new buying/leasing schemes designed to appeal to an audience accustomed to trading in and trading up every couple of years. Think of Volvo's flat-fee lease as you would a smartphone contract, and you'll be on the right track. Genesis looks to have a hit on its hands in the form of the G70 sport sedan. We took a Korean-spec model for a spin and found a lot to like about the upstart contender. We can't wait to sample one here in the United States to see how it stacks up against the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. In other news, we're still really excited to see a production Ford Ranger Raptor. But if you just can't wait for the official reveal — it's OK, neither can we — take a look at the renderings in our post down below. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry.
