2006 Audi A6 Avant, Misano Red Pearl, Excellent Condition on 2040-cars
Lake Bluff, Illinois, United States
|
Rare Misano Red Pearl Audi A6 Avant. 75,661 miles, excellent condition, absolutely
no issues. Mounted with a set of four nearly new Continental Conti Pro Contact
tires with just 3000 miles on them. No accidents, no stories. Front and rear head airbags, dual front
side-mounted airbags, sunroof, nav, 6-disc CD changer, heated seats, heated
mirrors. With the Quattro all-wheel drive system, it’s the best car I’ve ever
driven in the snow. I’m only selling it because to be honest, I have too many
cars and it’s time to pare down the stable.
There’s only so much garage space.

2019 Infiniti QX50 vs. compact luxury SUV rivals: How they compare
Thu, Feb 1 2018With apologies to the EX35, or whatever it was eventually renamed, Infiniti has been without a proper, competitive entry in the compact luxury SUV segment. You know, the segment that's growing faster in sales and entries than any other? To say the 2019 Infiniti QX50 is long awaited would therefore be an understatement. At first glance and drive, the new QX50 would indeed seem to be wildly more competitive than its predecessor, which come to think of it, was eventually called the QX50 as well. This one is based on an all-new front-wheel-drive platform, and although it lacks the inherent verve of the old, rear-drive- and 370Z-based one, the resulting increase in cabin space should be a welcome tradeoff. In fact, as you'll see below, the QX50 has gone from one of the smallest compact SUVs to the most spacious. How does it stack up in every other way? Say, against the segment's four best-selling entries last year: the 2018 Lexus NX 300, 2018 Acura RDX, 2018 Audi Q5 and 2018 BMW X3. On paper at least, really well as it turns out. Let's go to the spreadsheet! Discover and compare other luxury crossovers with our Car Finder and Compare tools. Comparing engines, drivetrains and transmissions With the exception of the Acura, all of the contenders come with 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines. As you can see, the Infiniti is the heavyweight amongst the four-bangers, boasting the most horsepower and torque. The Acura V6 nips it by 11 hp, but the QX50 is still the overall torque champ. Plus, as we documented in the QX50 first drive, the Infiniti's new VC-Turbo engine is also the most technologically advanced. The Lexus is the wimp of the group and is also the second-heaviest, which isn't exactly the ideal scenario. The Infiniti is the only one in the group to feature a continuously variable transmission. That's not going to generate much applause around here. The BMW tops the gear count with eight, while the Audi is the only entry with a dual-clutch automated manual. The Acura and Lexus have only six gears, but they're good transmissions and it's not like their fuel economy is off the pace. The Audi and BMW come standard with all-wheel drive, while the others offer a choice of front- or all-wheel drive. Comparing cargo and interior space The new front-wheel-drive platform is paying dividends inside for the 2019 QX50, as it now boasts the most maximum cargo space at 65.1 cubic feet.
VW internal investigation finds 'no evidence' against suspended engineers
Tue, Oct 6 2015Volkswagen is still working out the chain of events that led to emissions-evading software being installed in 11 million diesel vehicles worldwide and deciding who was responsible for the treachery. So far, the German automotive giant's internal investigation hasn't publicly named many suspects, and three suspended executive-level engineers have been found not to be culpable in the wrongdoing, according to an anonymous insider speaking to Reuters. VW knows that the software began being installed in the EA 189 engine in 2008. The internal investigation has found that the emissions-evading tech was created because the powerplant was found to fail US standards. Plus, the diesel mill wasn't meeting cost targets, according to Reuters. The automaker responded by suspending over 10 employees, but three top engineers among them might not have been involved. Those put on leave include Heinz-Jakob Neusser from VW, Ulrich Hackenberg from Audi, and Wolfgang Hatz who led Porsche's research and group-wide engine development. The internal detective work hasn't turned up any evidence against these three men. In addition to VW's own inquires, government investigators in both the US and Germany are taking a serious look into the company's actions, too. So far, the automaker is setting aside about $7.3 billion to pay to fix the vehicles with the evasive software. Depending on what authorities find, the costs could grow quickly. Beyond the financial implications, the scandal has led to a serious shakeup in VW's corporate structure. Related Video:
Audi could buy back 25,000 older diesel Q7s
Fri, Oct 21 2016Audi will follow the example of Volkswagen here in the US, according to Germany's Der Spiegel. The paper reports that the luxury brand will buy back 25,000 vehicles with 3.0-liter, turbodiesel V6s that don't pass US emissions tests, and repair others. While we can expect an official update on the 3.0-liter TDI during a hearing on November 3, Der Spiegel's report could serve as a preview. The paper reports Audi will only offer owners of older Q7 TDIs buybacks. According to Reuters, Audi will repair an additional 85,000 vehicles that violate emission laws, although the report doesn't specify models. Audi USA's consumer information website lists an EPA "notice of violation" for all diesel-powered A6, A7, and A8 sedans, as well as Q5 crossovers, from model years 2014 through 2016. The Q7, meanwhile, stretches from to 2009 to 2016. We should also consider what Der Spiegel's report means for German consumers. Volkswagen has received a lot of heat across the pond over its decision to not offer buybacks in Europe, owing to the far greater number of affected vehicles. That both VW and Audi are looking at US buybacks is surely something that will irk the brands' critics in their homeland. We'll have more on Volkswagen/Audi's plans for the 3.0-liter TDI V6 on November 3. Related Video:
