2001 Audi A6 Quattro 2.7l Twin Turbo, Low Miles, Clean Title, Mechanics Special, on 2040-cars
Buffalo, New York, United States

Up for sale here is a 2001 Audi A6 2.7T Bi-Turbo Quattro All Wheel Drive with only 88K miles on it. This car is going to need a lot of work to be right. I bought it because it had a lot of aftermarket parts that I wanted for my A6, but my car is the more rare 6-Speed and I had no desire to drive an automatic. The parts I removed were the front bumper, tail lights, intercooler (Stock intercoolers are back on the car now), APR Bi-Pipe, Forge Diverter Valves, K&N Filter, ICM's, Power Steering Pump, door lock mechanism, and the wheels . I replaced the wheels with a bad set of wheels, 2 are cracked and don't hold air, also the tires are wasted. It will need all of the parts I just listed that I have taken. I planed on swapping all my stock parts back onto this car, but ended up having a garage fire and lost all the stock parts unfortunately. The nice thing is one you get all the parts back on it you will have a clean low mile A6, the bad is that it is a long road ahead and I'm not sure that I have a complete list of missing parts, you might need a few more small fastener and fitting type of components, and maybe a sensor or two (it's been almost 3 years now). The Interior is MINT!!!! By far the cleanest C5 A6 interior I have ever seen. It's all there although the front door panels have been removed, they are still in the car and complete, no signs of wear. I can't express enough how nice the interior is. I know for sure the motor is solid and runs well ( I did run it before taking it apart). I drove it off of the car hauler, pulled it into the shop, so I know it drives too. Then I disassembled it and it sat for 3 years after that. Be aware that it has been apart for some time when considering what will be needed to complete this project. I am pretty sure it has an aftermarket performance tune also, but I never confirmed that. The car was not at all in an accident, all parts were pulled to be used on another car. Seems crazy, but it made sense at the time somehow. I am a used car dealer, so this car really needs to be sold outside of New York State. In order for me to sell it to someone who wishes to register in New York the car will have to be completed to fill out the MV50 and MV82. If you reside outside of New York state this does not apply to you so you don't have to worry. The car is being sold no reserve, I don't have the time or the parts any longer to do what I wanted with it. Please be aware before bidding that you will need to tow this home, do not expect to drive it. It's your responsibility to transport this car home within 10 days of the auction close. I WILL NOT TAKE PAYPAL for the FULL Amount, just the deposit will be accepted through PAYPAL, and within 24hrs. If you can't manage the simple task of getting the small $75 deposit to me within 24hrs then don't bother bidding, it's not that hard. If you don't have the funds, then don't bid, that's pretty simple too. The vehicle is sold AS-IS where is, No Warranty Expressed or Implied. Thanks for Looking. Good Luck Bidding! |

VW orders external probe into diesel emission scandal
Sun, Sep 20 2015There are well over 480,000 Volkswagen-made, diesel-powered vehicles currently traveling roads in the United States that do not meet the Environmental Protection Agency's emissions requirements. This, as you can probably imagine, is a very big deal, and has led VW CEO Professor Doctor Martin Winterkorn to release an official statement on the matter. "I personally am deeply sorry that we have broken the trust of our customers and the public," he said. It's important to note that these vehicles run software with a so-called "defeat device" that kicks in when the on-board computer senses that it is being tested for emissions. When the car is operating normally – in other words, when its exhaust isn't being sniffed – the cars do not meet US emissions standards. According to the EPA and the California Air Resources Board, affected cars emit as much as 40 times the allowable level of certain pollutants. "We will cooperate fully with the responsible agencies, with transparency and urgency, to clearly, openly, and completely establish all of the facts of this case," according to Winterkorn, who added, "Volkswagen has ordered an external investigation of this matter." It's not yet known who will carry out this investigation. At present, there are still a number of 2015 Volkswagen models on dealer lots that do not meet emissions requirements. VW has issued a stop sale on vehicles equipped with the 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine. What's more, the German automaker has been barred from selling 2016 model-year vehicles that use this engine, according to The Detroit News. Last year, diesel vehicles made up about 22 percent of all VW sales, which means these restrictions will have a big impact on the brand's sales performance until a remedy is found and the vehicles are approved for sale. Interestingly, the EPA has started a campaign of sorts to test vehicles from other automakers that sell diesel-powered vehicles in the United States to make sure they comply with emissions requirements under all operating circumstances. The EPA says it "will be reviewing [its] compliance protocols and introducing ways in which [it] can effectively test not only for emissions performance but also for the potential presence of defeat devices," according to a statement provided to The Detroit News. VW Group to split brands under four holding companies
Tue, Jun 16 2015The Volkswagen Group is planning a tremendous shift in its internal structure that will decentralize operations by splitting its 12 brands into four different holding companies. Here's the breakdown. Things will be split logically, considering the inter-sharing of parts, platforms, and engines. The Volkswagen brand, Seat, and Skoda make up a passenger vehicle division led by former BMW man Herbert Diess. Audi, which is tightly intertwined with Lamborghini and motorcycle manufacturer Ducati, will be managed by current Audi exec Rupert Stadler. Porsche and Bentley, which are already quite close, will be joined by Bugatti and run by Matthias Mueller. Finally, a commercial vehicles division will include Volkswagen Commercial, Scania, and Man. Former Daimler exec Andreas Renschler will take care of the big vehicles. The massive move, according to Automotive News Europe, is part of an internal VAG effort to move away from the structure established by ousted Chairman Ferdinand Piech, who favored a compact, but highly centralized, management structure to oversee the independent actions of the company's brands. Criticism of Piech's arrangement stemmed from the company's slow responses to changes in the market, ANE reports. The new structure should make for a more efficient, streamlined company that's better able to make crucial decisions. What are your thoughts? Should VAG decentralize, or did Piech have the right idea? Have your say in Comments.
Audi planning A7 powered by fuel cell?
Sat, 01 Jun 2013Back in March, Volkswagen AG CEO Martin Winterkorn voiced his doubts about the cost and infrastructure associated with building hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, but according to Autocar, that isn't stopping Audi from developing a fuel-cell version of the Audi A7. While we're inclined to take this report with a grain of salt, this wouldn't be the first time a VW executive has made seemingly damning statements about electric powertrains that later proved to be incorrect.
After speaking with Audi technical chief Wolfgang Dürheimer, Autocar reports that Audi is building a fuel cell A7 that is expected to be ready for testing by August. Like the electric E-Tron and natural-gas-powered G-Tron models, the hydrogen fuel cell Audis could, if produced, carry their own "tron" nomenclature.
