1999 Audi A6 Quattro Base Sedan 4-door 2.8l on 2040-cars
Fall River, Massachusetts, United States
I've owned this vehicle for the past 6 years and it has been my daily driver and has served well over the years, I am purchasing a newer vehicle and no longer have a use for this one.
This is a 1999 not a 2014, the car is 15 years old, please do not expect a showroom quality car, this car starts/runs shifts smoothly though all gears and is still used daily. It will need some repairs. Exterior wise it will need head cover gasket replaced, brake pads and has a minor exhaust leak, tires have about 60% tread left - as pictured exterior trim moldings on both doors on the left side need to be re-clipped in pace, rh front fender has rust/rot spot, rh rear trail light has a crack, but does not affect operation. Interior features the rare brown leather interior - drivers seat and center console cover have tears, cup holder and sun roof tracks need repairs, ac/heat/climate control and heated seats all in good working order, all power windows - front and rear defrost in working order, horn, Bose premium stereo system with in trunk 6 disc cd changer all working. Dash currently has abs/brake lights flashing, but repairs have been make to abs system, but mechanic didn't have the reset tool, can take to an audi dealer to reset. I have tried to describe this vehicle to the best of my knowledge, but I am not a mechanic nor a psychic - I am selling this vehicle as seen, as is and with no reserve, as seen in picture this vehicle in the lowest value has a current blue book value of over $3500, will sell to highest bidder, buyer is encourage to come look at and inspect and/or ask any questions prior to placing any bids. Thanks for looking and good luck! |

Audi boss can't say no to F1 program
Sun, May 10 2015Audi has been a dominant force at the top rung of endurance racing for over a decade. Still, rumors have fired up again about the possibility of the company making a big switch to Formula 1. The Four Rings' boss Rupert Stadler isn't ready to make that decision yet, but he's not ruling it out. When asked by Auto Express about the potential of Audi entering F1 in the next five years, Stadler gave an intriguing answer. "It's something we're looking at, but then we're always looking at it and many other things. But I can't say yes or no," he said. While not at all a confirmation, that's hardly an outright denial, either. According to unnamed insiders speaking to Auto Express, Audi is under pressure from Volkswagen Group to leave the FIA World Endurance Championship. Right now, the Four Rings is competing directly against its corporate sibling Porsche. While that might make for a good rivalry on the track, it doesn't necessarily make sense financially. Rumors last year suggested that Audi might leave the WEC and DTM to finance the F1 project. Two possibilities were proposed at the time: act as engine supplier to Red Bull or buy Toro Rosso to run a whole new team. Stadler's non-denial might also indicate that Audi's view on F1 is shifting. In the past, the company's opinion has been much more obvious. Last year, Audi Sport tweeted that the rumormongering was "pure speculation." As far back as 2011, the brand's motorsport boss said grand prix racing had "no relevance to the road." Related Video:
VW internal investigation finds 'no evidence' against suspended engineers
Tue, Oct 6 2015Volkswagen is still working out the chain of events that led to emissions-evading software being installed in 11 million diesel vehicles worldwide and deciding who was responsible for the treachery. So far, the German automotive giant's internal investigation hasn't publicly named many suspects, and three suspended executive-level engineers have been found not to be culpable in the wrongdoing, according to an anonymous insider speaking to Reuters. VW knows that the software began being installed in the EA 189 engine in 2008. The internal investigation has found that the emissions-evading tech was created because the powerplant was found to fail US standards. Plus, the diesel mill wasn't meeting cost targets, according to Reuters. The automaker responded by suspending over 10 employees, but three top engineers among them might not have been involved. Those put on leave include Heinz-Jakob Neusser from VW, Ulrich Hackenberg from Audi, and Wolfgang Hatz who led Porsche's research and group-wide engine development. The internal detective work hasn't turned up any evidence against these three men. In addition to VW's own inquires, government investigators in both the US and Germany are taking a serious look into the company's actions, too. So far, the automaker is setting aside about $7.3 billion to pay to fix the vehicles with the evasive software. Depending on what authorities find, the costs could grow quickly. Beyond the financial implications, the scandal has led to a serious shakeup in VW's corporate structure. Related Video:
Recharge Wrap-up: Tesla truck's close call, Tesla age discrimination suit
Wed, Oct 5 2016A semi with a trailer full of Teslas has a close call on the highway in this video. With a half-dozen electric vehicles in tow, the truck has to swerve onto the shoulder as a commuter bus nearly hits it after crossing multiple lanes. An example of human error, this near miss is the type of thing Tesla would like to prevent by advancing and widely deploying autonomous vehicle technology. Watch the heavy-duty mishap in the video above, and read more at Teslarati. A former Tesla engineer is suing the automaker for age discrimination. 69-year-old Thomas Flessner, who was fired from his Materials Engineer position in February, says he "was isolated due to his age and routinely chastised for completing projects slower than his coworkers." The suit claims younger engineers working at a similar pace were not subject to the same criticism. Flessner encountered further problems after taking time off for surgery, when a supervisor told him, "these guys are gunning for you." Read more from Fusion. Car2go claims 43 percent year-over-year growth, with a trip taken by a member every 1.5 seconds. "The rise of car sharing can be attributed to a changing paradigm of demographics, social preference shifts towards usage of vehicles instead of ownership, and technology that enables the seamless short term rental of vehicles," says Frost & Sullivan Principal Mobility Analyst Martyn Briggs.
