1987 Audi 5000S. 2nd odometer shows 284,000. total miles on car around 484,000. 2nd owner, I have had this car since 1991. Runs, drives. Power brakes disconnected, power steering disconnected. Steering rack seals leak therefore power steering disconnected. I have driven this car daily for years with manual steering and manual brakes. I do not recommend that for anyone else though. Sometimes cold starting is difficult to keep running until warms up. Paint is basically gone with the rust free galvanized steel exposed. Has some oil leaks, could be made reliable by the right mechanic. 4 wheel disc brakes. Extra engine and transmission from car with 220,000 on it. Ran when I removed it. Spare body parts, computers, some lenses, Bentley manuals. Distributor on spare engine pickup is no good. Ice/snow tires on the car are excellent, around 25,000 miles on them. Basically a project if an Audi enthusiast has some skills and time. Rear leather seat is great. front seats are cracked/worn. passenger seat heater works, wipers work, horn works, e-brake works, heat and blower works, A/C leaked down about 10 years ago and obviously does not work. rear defrost works, sunroof works. Catalytic converter has been removed and exhaust pieced together but is intact. various spare body panels from donor car, hood, window regulators, sunroof mechanism, couple of doors Must be picked up locally unless truck transport can be arranged. I will help if possible.

Audi CEO announces new electrified car each year starting in 2018
Thu, May 12 2016Audi is preparing an aggressive (and possibly desperate) plan to electrify its lineup following the disastrous diesel emissions scandal. CEO Rupert Stadler announced the plan during the company's Annual General Meeting in Ingolstadt. "Starting in 2018, we will launch another electrified car each year," Stadler said. This is easily the most dramatic statement we've heard about electrification since Audi of America President Scott Keogh told Autoblog that one out of every four Audi models will have some kind of plug-in capacity by 2025. This new push for electrics will kick off with Audi's long-awaited all-electric CUV. We've already known about this guy for a while – according to our conversation with Keogh, it will be based on the E-Tron Quattro Concept first shown at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. And earlier this year, Audi even went as far as confirming its Brussels, Belgium factory will screw together the new EV. Speaking of those batteries, Audi expects them to match the 310-mile range promised by the E-Tron Quattro. What we're really eager to see, of course, is what Audi has planned after 2018. Will we get an all-electric A4 to battle the Tesla Model 3? An A7 E-Tron to challenge the Model S? Or will Audi go with a segment Tesla hasn't exploited yet? Expect a few years before we get answers to those questions. Beyond the EV announcement, Stadler also confirmed the next-generation Audi A8 will debut in 2017. The new luxury sedan will be capable of driving itself at speeds up to 37 miles per hour, fitting with previous reports. From there, Stadler expects to "see fully automated driving" by 2025. Audi sketches out new TT ahead of Geneva debut
Thu, 20 Feb 2014In less than two weeks, the doors will open at the Geneva Motor Show, and we'll be there to capture all the action. Among the dozens of new debuts we're looking forward to will be the arrival of the new third-generation Audi TT, and to give us a better idea of what we're looking forward to, Ingolstadt has released this series of teaser sketches.
Looking every bit like a TT should and drawing heavily on the Allroad Shooting Brake concept that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show last month, the images foretell of a new Audi sports coupe with a single-frame grille, matrix LED lighting and a deeply creased hood with the four-ring emblem placed atop the nose, as on the R8.
Horizontal lines at the back preview Audi's next design language, with twin exhaust tips flanking the diffuser on base models and quad tips on the next TTS. A cleaner interior design also harkens back to the first-gen TT that started it all and from which the new one draws its inspiration. Scope out the images in the gallery above for a closer look at what's to come, then scroll down for the details in the press release below.
Audi R8 lines up as safety car for Rolex 24 at Daytona
Sat, 25 Jan 2014This weekend a new era begins in American sports car racing with the Rolex 24 at Daytona to kick off the new United SportsCar Championship, the freshly inked union between the Grand Am and American Le Mans Series. There'll be a wide variety of machinery lining up on the grid at the Florida speedway, including race-ready versions of the sports cars you can drive on the road, plus Daytona Prototypes, Le Mans Prototypes and even the DeltaWing. But at the front of the pack will be the Audi R8 5.2 FSI.
That's because Ingolstadt's flagship has been named as the official safety car for this, the 52nd annual Rolex 24 at Daytona. And so the R8 becomes the first pace car pressed into service for the United SportsCar Championship, although the model also paced last year's race (pictured above) when it was under the auspices of the Grand Am series.
The car in question appears to bear little in the way of modifications over the showroom version, save for some requisite graphics and maybe some emergency lighting to make it more visible - because while you wouldn't miss an R8 slicing its way through ordinary traffic on the road, it's another story entirely in a field full of competition machinery. Audi points out that the road-going R8 shares a good 50 percent of its components with the R8 LMS competing in the race, including its 5.2-liter V10 engine that's available this year with a new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
