1967 Austin Healey 3000 #039;touring Model' Open Two Seater Roadster on 2040-cars
Sicklerville, New Jersey, United States
The car was repainted the factory original color. The engine runs with excellent oil pressure, does not
smoke, idles smooth, shifts up and down gears excellent, the overdive activates and shuts off only in 3rd and 4th
gear, activated by the dash switch. The relay with throttle kick down to deactivate the overdrive, most specific to
Healeys, has a new overdrive harness wired in but has not been wired to the 12 volt system as the relay and cutout
switch were not tested and simply by passed. The wiring harness is the original one- much of the cloth loom has
deteriorated and a couple of wires to the dash from the fuse box, that looked tired or lost its pliability, were
replaced with new wire. The harness has been wrapped with electrical tape for the majority of it, and functions
fine to the point it does not need replacing, but will be left up to the preferences of the buyer to replace in
years ahead as ongoing maintenance requires.
All other systems- electricals, heating/cooling, hydraulics- steering, horns, alignment, engine temp, oil pressure,
all lights- all functioning as they should. The car has a nice ride, shocks work well and at some point the front
springs appear to have been upgraded to new.

Aston CEO claims Cygnet cancelled because Toyota is dropping iQ in 2014
Sun, 27 Oct 2013While slow sales and a $50,000 price tag may have been contributing factors to the Aston Martin Cygnet being cancelled last month, Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez is pointing the finger at Toyota for the demise of this luxurious little city car. In a discussion with Autocar, Bez is quoted as saying that the ultimate reason the Cygnet was cut is because Toyota plans on dropping the iQ (on which the Cygnet is based) in 2014 - a claim denied by the Japanese automaker.
Interestingly, the article also cites another publication reporting that a Toyota importer in the Netherlands heard the same news as Bez, and it has already stopped importing the cars. If the European Toyota iQ is cancelled, that would likely spell the end of the slow-selling Scion iQ in the US, which has sold just 3,365 units through September (a drop of 51 percent year over year).
Regardless of why production of the Cygnet ended, Bez also says that a lack of support from Toyota on the project prevented it from being offered in the US or receiving a supercharged engine, which are two factors that likely would have made the car appealing to more buyers.
Top Gear caught filming Best of British near Buckingham Palace
Mon, 24 Jun 2013YouTuber and car-fan extraordinaire Shmee probably had very little trouble tracking down the Top Gear film crew recently, as the group was putting together an episode that could accurately be described as "excessive." With its flag-waving (literally) Best of British theme, the TG guys gathered a jaw-dropping array of British cars, and parked them all right in front of Buckingham Palace to make extra sure that the point was driven home.
Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May were outfitted with a trio of Jaguar F-Types festooned with gigantic Union Jacks, with which to survey the landscape of British motoring glory. In the video below, you'll see that this includes any number of Mini, Aston Martin, Lotus, McLaren, Land Rover, Bentley and Rolls-Royce models (just to name a few), as well as a healthy dose of weird stuff that most people would never guess at being built in the UK. The lawnmowers and military vehicles are especially cool.
Mercedes increases stake in Aston Martin
Wed, 06 Aug 2014As part of an increasingly close partnership, Mercedes-Benz parent company Daimler is reportedly preparing to increase its stake in Aston Martin by another one percent, bringing the German automaker's shares in the British company up to five percent.
The rapprochement between the two has been in the works for years now, and is finally beginning to take form. Mercedes-AMG is in the midst of developing a new engine with and for Aston Martin in an apparently similar arrangement to that which it has with Pagani. But that's not the extent of it.
Daimler will also furnish Aston Martin with electrical systems and other components, said to lead up to the eventual sharing of platforms: one to underpin future GTs and another to serve as the basis for a long-mooted Aston Martin crossover, now said to be back on the table and slated to launch in 2017. The prospect of using the partnership to reinvigorate both the Lagonda and Maybach luxury brands, however, has since been taken off the table, with both parties continuing those projects independently.
