Top of the line Veloce model with leather seats and alloy wheels. I've owned it for over half its life and it's been a super reliable second car for us. Has always been garage kept. Never driven in the snow or when there is any trace of salt on the roads. Rarely driven in the rain. Recent battery, windshield, tire rotation and clutch pivot arm, slave cylinder & hose. Includes full maintenance records for the last 14 years and some from previous owner. Body in great shape, has a few door dings and scuffs, but nothing serious. The clearcoat is flaking from the 3rd brake light. Interior is also in great shape, parts of it have been recently redone. No dash cracks (it's hard to find an Alfa without any dash crack.) Some of the weatherstripping is deteriorated, but seems to still function. A/C blows very cold. Radio, all lights and windows work well. Never been in an accident. Drives straight. You will search hard to find another series 4 Alfa Spider in this good of condition. Includes nice Evolution car cover and a brand new convertible top from IAP, but it's not installed. Value is about $500, I believe. Also have a partial engine gasket set, a large workshop manual, several spare keys, a cool leather look tool bag and a multi-piece interior wood grain kit that I did not install. I will also include my handmade wind deflector as seen in the photos. It works pretty well. Doesn't need anything major, just a new antenna. The pictures are pretty large. Please take a good look at them to see the good condition of the car. Please contact me with questions, or if you would like to see any specific additional photos. |

Marchionne threatens to move Alfa production out of Italy
Fri, 12 Jul 2013Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne was unsurprisingly frank when asked by reporters about potential investments in Italian manufacturing for Alfa Romeo and Maserati, giving the Italian government the ultimatum, "Italy should decide if they want [Alfa Romeo's relaunch] to happen here or not as Fiat and Chrysler have several alternatives." Them's fightin' words.
Fiat's issue with the government stems directly from its courtroom clashes with the Fiom labor union. The two are currently embroiled in proceedings over longer shifts and shorter breaks, as Fiom has so far refused to sign a new contract citing revised labor laws that it says are anti-union.
According to Bloomberg, Fiat will be spending over $2.5 billion on development of eight new Alfas and six new Maseratis, in a bid to wrest some of the luxury pie away from BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi. But that's only going to happen if the government is willing to play ball and make life easier on Fiat.
Share price falls on skepticism of Chrysler-Fiat five-year plan
Thu, 08 May 2014Following this week's Fiat Chrysler extravaganza, where the Italian-American manufacturer announced its plans for the next five years, the Autoblog staff was cautiously optimistic of the company's future. Investors? Not so much.
Fiat saw its shares tumble 12 percent in Wednesday's trading, falling from 8.67 euros ($12.06 at today's rates) to 7.44 euros ($10.35) as of this writing, with blame partly going to the Italian half of the FCA marriage, which recorded a pretty significant drop in profits during the first quarter of this year.
The plan, which will cost around $77 billion over the next several years, is facing criticism from investors thanks in part to a 1.4-percent drop in Fiat's first-quarter profits, to 622 million euros ($862 million). That figure is also short of Bloomberg analysts' projections, which predicted $1.18 billion in profits before taxes, interest and one-time items.
Marchionne offers belated apology for 'wop engine' comment
Wed, 22 May 2013Automotive News reports Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has issued a written apology for his comments regarding his decision to stick with an Italian engine for the upcoming Alfa Romeo 4C. As you may recall, back in January, Marchionne was quoted as saying, "I cannot come up with a schlock product, I just won't. I won't put an American engine into that car. With all due respect to my American friends, it has to be a wop engine." The CEO penned an apology to the Italian American ONE VOICE Coalition for using the racial epithet, saying that he made the comment in jest. Marchionne also said he realizes his remarks were unacceptable.
ONE VOICE, an organization aimed at fighting discrimination and stereotyping of Italian Americans, thanked Marchionne, Chrysler and Fiat for the apology. Marchionne is an Italian-born Canadian citizen, and he's gotten in trouble for other comments in the past. In 2011, he called high interest rates Chrysler was paying to the Canadian government "shyster rates." He apologized a day later.
