Beautiful, cherry red 1991 Alfa Romeo Spider convertible.  Classic Italian sports car designed by Pininfarina, as marked on silver plates on the car body.  Drives well and looks great--gets lots of envious looks and comments!  Perfect for special nights out, weekend getaways, as a daily driver, or even as a project car to make it perfect.

Following is all the information I have on the car--both good and the signs of age/quirks of an Alfa:

-64,XXX original miles
-Original floor mats, owners manual, took kit, and key rings
-Spare tire included
-Two sets of keys
-Bra cover included
-Accurate, functional odometer
-Rare automatic transmission
-Passes CA smog test
-Paint in good condition, some door dings
-Lights, turn signals, and windshield wipers work
-Speedometer reads accurately after 18 miles per hour
-Original soft top exterior in good condition, but tear in rear window and interior shows age
-Heater and fan work, but the a/c does not
-Driver side window does not roll down.  The electrical works, so it likely just needs to be reset on the track
-Tear in driver side seat bottom
-Tape deck with iPod adapter
-Side mirrors adjust automatically only up and down, must be manually adjusted left and right
-Parking brake light stays on
-Has a hard idle if stopped for extended periods.  I believe the idle motor just needs to be adjusted.
-Brakes need a little extra time, and will eventually need work.  I've never had a problem stopping.
-Recently started leaking a small amount of oil.
-Serviced for at least last two years at Alfa Milano in Los Angeles

All of these problems existed when I bought the car in February.  This is my third vehicle, and I need to downsize.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV to lead Italians' EV charge in 2026

Fri, Apr 7 2023

Stepping up its commitment toward electric mobility, Alfa Romeo’s chief executive CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato says that the second-generation Stelvio SUV will arrive with electric power in 2026 to replace the current model, and be followed a year later with a large EV sedan. As reported by BritainÂ’s Autocar, the Mk2 StelvioÂ’s design wonÂ’t change much, but the underpinnings will adopt the so-called STLA platform, which is part of Alfa ownerÂ’s StellantisÂ’ range announced a couple of years ago. For the 2024 model year, both the Guilia sedan and the Stelvio will continue with gas power before the switch to electric, and will receive one final refresh before then, said senior VP Larry Dominique. The Italians have also added what Dominique called “buzz models”: the Estrema and the Lusso and Competizione editions. On the subject of extended range for the EVs, Imparato mentioned that the Guilia successor would likely offer up to 435 miles on one charge. Given that the upcoming saloon and SUV will share a platform with the Giulia, they will most likely share its fundamental drivetrain offering too. Alfa has also suggested that the 500-plus horsepower Quadrofoglio will eventually evolve into an electric variant of the Guilia, pumping out a possible overachieving 1,000 horsepower. A new plug-in hybrid SUV called Tonale, a bit smaller than the Stelvio, is due shortly at dealers in the U.S. Related video:

Stellantis and LG launch joint venture for North American battery plant

Mon, Oct 18 2021

Stellantis has struck a preliminary deal with battery maker LG Energy Solution (LGES) to produce battery cells and modules for North America, as the world's No. 4 automaker rolls out its 30 billion euro ($35 billion) electrification plan. Global automakers are investing billions of euros to accelerate a transition to low-emission mobility and prepare for a progressive phase-out of internal combustion engines. Stellantis and LGES's joint venture will produce battery cells and modules at a new facility with an annual capacity of 40 gigawatt hours (GWh), the two firms said on Monday. No financial details of the deal were provided. The plant is scheduled to start production by the first quarter of 2024, with groundbreaking expected in the second quarter of 2022, the companies said in their statement. Its location is under review and will be announced later. Stellantis, formed in January from the merger of Italian-American automaker Fiat Chrysler and France's PSA, has said it wants to secure more than 130 GWh of global battery capacity by 2025 and more than 260 GWh by 2030. The batteries produced under the deal will supply Stellantis' U.S., Canadian and Mexican assembly plants for installation in hybrid and fully electric vehicles, supporting its goal of e-vehicles making up more than 40% of its U.S. sales by 2030. The company, whose brands include Peugeot, Fiat, Opel and U.S. best-sellers Jeep and Ram, earlier this year announced it would invest more than 30 billion euros through 2025 on electrifying its vehicle lineup. Stellantis has said it would build three battery plants in Europe and two in North America, including at least one in the United States. Intesa Sanpaolo analyst Monica Bosio said the deal was positive, and a further step ahead in Stellantis' electrification process. It comes weeks after Stellantis and its partner TotalEnergies agreed to open up their battery cell joint venture ACC to Daimler, to expand their European sourcing of battery cells. Stellantis is also targeting more than 70% of sales in Europe to be of low-emission vehicles by 2030, and aims to make the total cost of owning an EV equal to that of a gasoline-powered model by 2026.
