1987 Alfa Romeo Spider Quadrifoglio for sale in San Jose, California. It is in great mechanical condition and runs well.

Here are the basic details along with specifics:

- 2.0 Liter, 4 cylinder engine
- Upgraded high-compression pistons (10:1, for just a little more oomph)
- 5-speed manual transmission
- Red paint, no rust, body is in very good condition with some minor "parking lot" dings.
- Gray leather interior with red stitching (Quadrifoglio standard). The seat bottoms have some cracks that should be repaired.
- 15" Quadrifoglio wheels
- Power windows
- Power mirrors
- Heater works well.  I haven't charged the AC in a few years.  It probably needs some R&R.
- Radio with CD player

The car has about 118,000 miles on it.  I have owned it for close to 15 years.  All service records are available.

The soft top is in excellent condition and includes the Quadrifoglio tonneau cover, also in excellent shape.

The hard top is available and can be included; however, the rear glass recently broke and will have to be replaced in order to effectively use the top. That was a sad day. I have been in touch with del-priore.com, who tells me that they carry new replacement glass for the hard top at a reasonable price. Shipping is a bit of a cost challenge, but at least the glass is still out there.

I have the car detailed every year, at which time the paint shines up beautifully, though it oxidizes easily. It's in Ok shape with some scratches and chips.  The flaws are clearly visible in the photos.

I also have a car cover, various spare parts (not too many), one or two nose masks (or "bras" if you prefer).  All of that and anything else I dig up that's related to this car is included.

Though they are not shown in the photos, I have the floor mats and full carpet set (dash carpet, interior sill carpets, rear carpet) which stay installed at all times.  They are in mediocre shape but keep the actual cabin carpet protected and in great shape.  I removed the floor mats and other pieces for the photos to show the condition of the cabin carpet.

Power windows work but are a bit slow, more so in cold weather.  Likewise with the power mirrors.

FCA's new Heritage HUB showcases 250 rare Fiats, Lancias and Alfa Romeos

Fri, Apr 5 2019

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has opened a new facility near Turin, Italy, dedicated to preserving and celebrating the company's Italian brands, as well as the historic cars each has created. It's bigger than the average Costco, and it houses more than 250 pieces of automotive art, some of which have never been publicly displayed. It's called the FCA Heritage HUB. The HUB building is itself a piece of history. FCA restored the old Officina 81 in Via Plava of the historic Mirafiori industrial district on the south side of Turin. At 161,459 sqare feet (the average Costco is 145,000 sq ft), it's a massive open space that allows for both business and pleasure. In the rafters, photos and text tell the timeline of Mirafiori, but the floor focuses on Fiat, Lancia, Abarth, and Alfa Romeo. Although part of the space is dedicated to the "Reloaded by Creators" vintage restoration sales department, the portion we're interested in is shown in the massive gallery above. FCA says it has more than 250 vehicles on display, and some have never been shown. The "central area," which explores cars from 1908 to 2008, is separated into eight themes, each of which has eight cars. The eight areas include Archistars, Concept and Personalized Cars, Eco and Sustainable, Epic Journeys, Records and Races, Small and Safe, Style Marks, and The Rally Era. Some of the cars featured at the new shop include the Lancia Lambda, the Fiat 500 Topolino A, the Fiat 130 Familiar, the Fiat X1/23, the Fiat Ecobasic, the Fiat Campagnola AR 51, the Fiat 1100 E, the Fiat 124S, the Lancia Delta HF Integral Group A, the Fiat S61, the Lancia Alfa Sport, the Lancia D50, the Lancia Beta Montecarlo Turbo, the Lancia LC2, the Lancia Augusta, the Lancia Ardea, the Fiat ESV 1500 and 2000, the Fiat Barchetta, the Lancia Aurelia B20, the Lancia Fulvia HF 1600, and the Lancia Stratos HF. Check out the gallery and below videos to see the full extent of what the HUB has to offer. Alfa Romeo to go all-electric by 2027

Mon, Aug 9 2021

On an earnings report last week, Alfa Romeo parent company Stellantis tacked on some electrification plans for its 14 brands. One surprising piece of information: Alfa Romeo would be the first of them to go fully electric, and it'll happen by 2027. We've known that Alfa Romeo would eventually go electric, but it's a bit surprising to hear that Stellantis wants it to happen on such a short timeline, and that it would spearhead its EV push. Alfa Romeo has been one of the most protected brands in the Stellantis empire, and one of the most traditional as well. The often quirky but nevertheless beloved brand has long been a favorite among car enthusiasts. In fact, brand heritage is so important that back in 2014 the company opted to develop its own Spider rather than borrow a platform from the ND Miata (That car went to become the Fiat 124 instead). Stellantis didn't confirm what the first Alfa EV would be, but it could arrive in the form of a subcompact crossover about the size of a BMW X1. It could also share the platform with other Stellantis brands like Peugeot, Fiat and Jeep and is slated to debut in 2022 or 2023. In the meantime, Alfa Romeo is working on the Tonale plug-in hybrid electric, which was recently delayed. Reportedly, Stellantis head Jean-Philippe Imparato was not satisfied with the hybrid-electric system. The PHEV crossover will share a platform with an upcoming Jeep model as well. It should arrive in early 2022 if things stay on track from here. The express timeline also indicates that the new Stellantis STLA large-vehicle architecture will have to be ready before 2027. It's set to replace the sharp-handling rear-wheel-drive Giorgio platform that underpins the Giulia and Stelvio. And while it'll be shared across multiple Stellantis brands, Imparato has promised Alfa Romeo-badged cars will retain the qualities that have made the name so special. In the same report, Stellantis confirmed that Opel would go all-electric by 2028 and Fiat would follow by 2030. 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio is the priciest Alfa you can buy

Thu, Feb 15 2018

Alfa Romeo has finally announced pricing for its Stelvio Quadrifoglio high-performance crossover, and it's not cheap. The base price is $81,590, which makes it the most expensive car in the Alfa lineup. The next most expensive is the Giulia Quadrifoglio at $75,295. That's a difference of roughly $6,000. And you can make the Stelvio even more expensive by optioning in Sparco carbon fiber shell racing seats or carbon ceramic brakes. Alfa hasn't revealed pricing for those, but expect the brakes to cost the same $8,000 that they do on the Giulia Quadrifoglio. You do get a lot of car for the money, though. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio gets the same twin-turbocharged, Ferrari-built V6 as its Giulia counterpart, still making 505 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. That will take the car to 60 mph from a standstill in 3.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 177 mph. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio is also the current SUV lap time record holder at the Nurburgring. If the price seems acceptable to you, you'll be able to pick one up early this year.
