1982 is the last year of the series 2 spider, without the front and rear spoilers that most aficionado agree was a step in the wrong direction aesthetically. It is the first year of the very dependable Bosch injection system, so the only year with the 'good looks and dependability'. The paint is called seafoam green and is factory original pearl color that changes from green to blue, depending on light....note in the photos indoor garage shots vs. in the sunshine shots, gorgeous! Interior is a combination of bright blue carpets, with dark blue leather, in flawless 'new condition throughout' again, very attractive. I went to great expense to secure and convert to the stainless bumpers front and rear and eliminate the nasty US govt. required 'big a$$ black bumpers!'  I am a longtime Alfisti and had saved a perfect bumper set for more than 25 years waiting for the best candidate, this Spider is it!

I acquired this beauty from its original owner who saved every extensive service record from new and it has 57k original miles on the odo. It was repainted due to being 'keyed' by vandals at one point while parked in San Francisco...insurance paid, so it looks near new. Top was replaced at that time, padded canvas. Wheels are flawless, tires new.  These are very luxurious cars, power windows, power electric mirrors, leather interior (flawless), plush carpets, padded canvas top, and they are just an absolute joy to drive, quick and nimble.

This is one of the lowest mileage gorgeous spiders you will ever see. Prices are on the rise....what cool collector car isn't??  I am downsizing my lovely collection of vintage cars.  Alfa's have been stuck in the mud valuation wise, but Guilia/Guilietta and roundtail spiders are spiking in value now.  A clean 1982 Spider sold at auction for $22K plus at this winter's AZ scene, and this car trumps that car at a lower price by a long shot.  Differences include alloy wheel upgrade and expensive concours condition stainless bumper conversion.  I am in Lake Tahoe, NV (northshore).  This is THE Alfa Spider to acquire, you have to see it to believe it, obsessively pampered and garaged from new and it shows.

The ONLY negative associated with this car in an effort to represent the car honestly is a 'crunch when cold' in 2nd gear.  I have not changed out to red dot, but apparently this is a decent 'fix' until replacement time.  It is NOT necessary to repair/replace at this time, performs just fine when warmed up.  This car rests in a heated garage on a battery tender and starts right up every time.  Spring is right around the corner, this car is stunningly beautiful, rare and in exceptional condition.  In the photos, note the gap between bumper and hood...rare laser straight like this, no bumps and bruises on this specimen!

2021 Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Giulia get revamped trims and pricing

Thu, Dec 17 2020

After a major interior and infotainment update last year, the 2021 Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Giulia get a more mild update consisting of a smaller trim lineup and a couple of extra features for some trims. The update also includes small price increases across the board. Four new colors are available, too, including Ocra GT Junior, Verde Montreal, Rosso GTA and Rosso Villa d'Este. The first two of those are shown in the galleries. Available trims have dropped from seven to four, with a couple of them simply becoming option packages for the remaining trims. The base trim is now called Sprint, a callback to Alfas of the past. Standard equipment for this trim is unchanged, including standard 10-way power adjustable leather seats, 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, remote start, proximity key and automatic emergency braking. As such the price only increases by $50 to $40,745 for the Guilia and $42,745 for the Stelvio. All-wheel drive is a $2,000 option on all Giulias and the Stelvio Sprint. Higher trim Stelvios get all-wheel drive standard. 2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio View 14 Photos The Ti and Ti Sport get the most additional standard equipment over last year's versions. They now get dual-pane sunroofs, navigation and HD radio. The Ti Sport also picks up a standard limited-slip rear differential. The Giulia and Stelvio Ti increases in price by $1,300 to $43,995 and $48,395 respectively. The Giulia Ti Sport price goes up by $1,500 to $47,195 while the Stelvio Ti Sport sees a $2,000 increase to $51,595. The Quadrifoglio trim, with its twin-turbocharged V6 is unchanged for 2021. It does get a $250 price increase with the Giulia starting at $76,345 and the Stelvio at $82,345. Related Video:

Abarth Classiche 1300 OT revives the Alfa Romeo 4C for one last hurrah

Mon, Apr 15 2024

The Alfa Romeo 4C is back from the dead. Well, at least partially. This Abarth Classiche 1300 OT doesn’t wear an Alfa Romeo badge, but itÂ’s effectively a re-bodied and re-jiggered 4C built with an eye to the past. Limited to only five examples, the Classiche 1300 OT is part of StellantisÂ’ “Reloaded by Creators” project that aims to reinterpret beloved cars of its past in a modern form. This time, the model is the Fiat-Abarth OT 1300 race car from 1965. WeÂ’ll put new and old side-by-side below for you to critique how Abarth did. One of the original carÂ’s most distinctive features was the big periscope atop the roof meant to cool the cabin while racing, and Abarth made a small attempt at recreating it with a little scoop atop the roof. Its hood features a scoop that looks a little like the originalÂ’s, and you can see similar inspiration found for its rear taillghts. All that said, this re-body job doesnÂ’t really go far enough to make you forget itÂ’s actually just an Alfa Romeo 4C underneath. You may recall a similar attempt made a few years ago with the Abarth 1000 SP that used the same formula, but instead was based on the 4C Spider. Technical details are practically non-existent for this new Classiche 1300 OT, but we suspect itÂ’s powered by the same 1.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder as the 4C was and cracks off shifts via a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox. We donÂ’t know the curb weight, but Abarth says all of its body is now made of carbon fiber, so itÂ’s likely to be even lighter than the standard 4C. If weÂ’re lucky, Abarth has done some re-tuning of the powertrain and suspension to differentiate how it drives compared to the 4C. And if you want one of these creations, Abarth says ordering is open now, but remember, only five are ever going to be built.

Mazda leads Consumer Reports' latest Brand Report Card Rankings

Thu, Feb 18 2021

The latest automaker brand report cards from Consumer Reports are in, and there are quite a few changes for 2021. At the very top of the charts sits Mazda, up three spots over last year, followed by BMW and Subaru to round out the top three. It's interesting to note that mainstream brands (non-luxury in CR-speak) don't seem to be at a disadvantage in CR's rankings, with five of the top 10 spots. In addition to Mazda in first and Subaru in third, Honda, Toyota, Chrysler, and Buick were the other high-ranking non-luxury marques. The ratings are derived from "a combination of predicted reliability, and owner satisfaction based on member surveys, and CR’s hands-on analysis" and also includes safety features and crash test scores.  At the very bottom of the list sit Mitsubishi, Land Rover and Alfa Romeo. "Our brand rankings don't just look at how models perform on our test track, but the broad picture of vehicle quality," said Jake Fisher, Senior Director of Automotive Testing at Consumer Reports. "Fortunately, consumers will find they have many options that are safe, enjoyable, and reasonably priced." The biggest jumps in the brand report card rankings come from Chrysler, Buick and Honda, which each moved up five spots compared to last year's rankings. The news wasn't nearly as good for Lincoln, which fell an alarming 15 spots this year, Genesis, which fell 13 spots, or Kia, which fell 10 spots. Related Video:
