Up for auction is my '82 Alfa Spider with 46,000 true miles on it. The car has been a nice, reliable, fun car for me. It's a dark metallic gray. The seat are tan leather. The top is like new with a clear back window. I just put on a new set of 4 Pirelli P-4 tires. The engine runs smooth and does not leak or burn any oil. The car can cruise comfortably for hours at highway speeds. The Alfa comes with an owners manual, some extra books, and a clear title. It does come with a bra, but if you choose you can drive it braless. I also have a car cover for it but I don't have a picture of it on the car. This was the top or the line Spider in '82 so it has the nice aluminum wheels, power windows, and power mirrors. I'd like to keep the Alfa but we are downsizing. I'm losing my four car garage and going to a two car garage. So, two of my car must be sold. I can't deliver the car, however, if you would like you can fly into Milwaukee and drive the Alfa home. It's not surprising that Fiat CEO Marchionne needs a perfect first Alfa to mark a return to America. And here's where things get dicey. Nobody would argue with Marchionne's insistence that Alfa Romeo's be powered by Italian engines - as Marchionne himself is quoted to have said at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, "There are some things that are well done in Italy."
If not what he said, then, it's how he said it that has eyebrows raised. "I cannot come up with a schlock product, I just won't. I won't put an American engine into that car. With all due respect to my American friends, it needs to be a wop engine." Wait, what's that?
