1977 Alfa Romeo Spider In Excellent Condition - True Survivor Like Mbg & Triumph on 2040-cars

Here is an excellent, rust free true survivor car. You hear the term 'survivor' all the time but the term is usually used incorrectly. This unmolested car starts right up and runs terrific with an amazing exhaust note especially when you start winding her out - she screams. Has had very little annual mileage since 1976 or 1977. The car was manufactured in Aug. 1976 but is titled as a 1977 model year. It loves the curves and also the highway. Unlike my previous TR6, with this 5-speed car you are never running at high rpm on the highway and passing power is always on tap. The included Alfa Romero factory hard top is in excellent condition with only a small light scratch in the vinyl. The glass on the hard top and on the car is all excellent. The soft top is like brand new with excellent rear window. The original Alfa Romeo aluminum wheels are included as is the chrome Alfa luggage rack, jack, air conditioning unit and compressor (disconnected), the owners manual and a pile of receipts totaling quite a bit several hundred or over a thousand dollars. The alternator is quite new. The leather interior is quite good - there is a small hole in the passenger seat. The dual true side draft Weber cabs work great. The rotor, cap, wires and plugs are new. The car came up from Tennessee where it was originally purchased and spent the last 10 - 15 years here in Dallas, PA where it was only driven in the dry summer weather. The body has a few minor dents, dings and light scratches. The is a spot on the hood that look like a small split in the paint, perhaps from engine heat. There is a small crack in the dash. There is a small dent in the rear fender lip that was needs to be filled and smoothed, but is it NOT a rust hole, it is a minor dent. The floors are perfect as is the under side of the car. There is one or two small holes in the spare tire well which will be easy to repair. There is only a small paint bubble in the paint behind the right front wheel but is certainly not indicative of any major rocker rust as they are extremely solid and there is no where on the car where a magnet wont stick. I've agonized over selling this car since it is fully road worthy and antique plate/insurance eligible, but it will be much easier to sell then my 2 other project cars. I will work with your shipper if that is required. You can see more pictures at the following link and more will be added soon tp include the hard to, factory aluminum wheels and spare tire, paper work, jack, a/c compressor and other items that will be included: http://s466.photobucket.com/user/oita-dow/media/ALFA%20SPIDER/alfa014.jpg.html In the spirit of full and honest disclosure, since this 38 year old car is being sold as is, here are some items which can use some attention: 1. The speedometer has stop working, but the mileage on the speedometer is 53,251 and the title reads 53,219. I bought the car last summer and have not driven it much at all as I am working on at 1974 TR6 and a 1946 Willys CJ2 project, but I put no more 400 - 500 miles on it. I was told the fix is not extremely difficult but haven't gotten to it. 2. The gas tank drips if it is more than apx. 1/3 full. I do not know if this is a hose or not. I simply do not fill it more than 1/3 full which is plenty of cruising time. 3. The oil pressure gauge isn't working, probably just the sending unit. (Temperature, fuel gauge and low fuel warning light work fine. Heat and defrost/fan work fine.) 4. The turn signal flasher isn't working so I must work the signal lever manually to signal a turn. This is probably just a matter of replacing the low-cost flasher but I'm not sure which part it is. 5. The passenger side wiper are is included but needs a new rubber. (cheap) 6. The car appears to have had an original color respray at some point in it's life and it is not extremely shiny, but it still looks great. PAYMENT: A NON-REFUNDABLE $200 DEPOSIT VIA PAYPAL IS DUE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF WINNING THE AUCTION. THIS $200 DEPOSIT IS NON-REFUNDABLE. Stellantis and LG launch joint venture for North American battery plant
Mon, Oct 18 2021Stellantis has struck a preliminary deal with battery maker LG Energy Solution (LGES) to produce battery cells and modules for North America, as the world's No. 4 automaker rolls out its 30 billion euro ($35 billion) electrification plan. Global automakers are investing billions of euros to accelerate a transition to low-emission mobility and prepare for a progressive phase-out of internal combustion engines. Stellantis and LGES's joint venture will produce battery cells and modules at a new facility with an annual capacity of 40 gigawatt hours (GWh), the two firms said on Monday. No financial details of the deal were provided. The plant is scheduled to start production by the first quarter of 2024, with groundbreaking expected in the second quarter of 2022, the companies said in their statement. Its location is under review and will be announced later. Stellantis, formed in January from the merger of Italian-American automaker Fiat Chrysler and France's PSA, has said it wants to secure more than 130 GWh of global battery capacity by 2025 and more than 260 GWh by 2030. The batteries produced under the deal will supply Stellantis' U.S., Canadian and Mexican assembly plants for installation in hybrid and fully electric vehicles, supporting its goal of e-vehicles making up more than 40% of its U.S. sales by 2030. The company, whose brands include Peugeot, Fiat, Opel and U.S. best-sellers Jeep and Ram, earlier this year announced it would invest more than 30 billion euros through 2025 on electrifying its vehicle lineup. Stellantis has said it would build three battery plants in Europe and two in North America, including at least one in the United States. Intesa Sanpaolo analyst Monica Bosio said the deal was positive, and a further step ahead in Stellantis' electrification process. It comes weeks after Stellantis and its partner TotalEnergies agreed to open up their battery cell joint venture ACC to Daimler, to expand their European sourcing of battery cells. Stellantis is also targeting more than 70% of sales in Europe to be of low-emission vehicles by 2030, and aims to make the total cost of owning an EV equal to that of a gasoline-powered model by 2026. Planned Alfa Romeo 8C and GTV don't appear to have a future anymore
Fri, Nov 1 2019The two Alfa Romeos we’ve been looking forward to most donÂ’t appear to have much of a future anymore, according to a report from Automobile. Both the 8C and GTV no longer exist on AlfaÂ’s product roadmap, and Mike Manley suggested they were canned, as well. “In the near term, the new portfolio for the brand is significantly scaled back with a corresponding reduction in capital spending,” Manley said, referring to Alfa Romeo in the companyÂ’s third-quarter earnings call. We've asked FCA if it can explicitly confirm anything on the 8C and GTV, but it offered no comment on the report. Additionally, FCAÂ’s presentation (uncovered by Motor1) of future Alfa Romeo vehicles left the 8C and GTV off the list. The only new cars planned for the future include a production version of the Tonale crossover and another unnamed crossover. FCAÂ’s presentation also states: “brand to focus on current market strengths with reduced global reach and overlap with other Group brands.” We all know that the strength of the market is in crossovers right now, so itÂ’s easy to infer what happens from there. Expensive, luxury sports cars are not where the scale and money is at for Alfa Romeo, a brand that isnÂ’t exactly thriving from a sales perspective today. Sales for both the Stelvio and Giulia are down in 2019 as those cars exit their honeymoon phase. Alfa is expected to have a midcycle refresh ready for consumption in 2021, so perhaps that could provide a temporary boost in sales for the Italian brand. FCA also said itÂ’s reducing planned capital spending on Alfa Romeo, which could hurt the brand even more in the future. This earnings call came the same day that the FCA-PSA merger was announced, throwing another wrench into the plan. WeÂ’re not yet sure what the merger will mean for Alfa Romeo and its presence in America, but we imagine more news on that will be coming as the companies transition to this new life together. The Giorgio platform appears to be safe for the time being, as Manley expressed his intentions to keep it around. This platform (underpinning both the Giulia and Stelvio) was developed with electrification of the powertrain in mind, so itÂ’ll be capable of handling a number of electrification efforts in FCAÂ’s future. We only wish the promising 8C and GTV wouldÂ’ve made it to production, but even Alfa appears to be thinning the herd of cars in favor of crossovers.
2023 Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio tweaked outside and in
Mon, Oct 31 2022Another Stellantis brand has hopped on the streamlining craze, this time Alfa Romeo. The Italians from Turin dropped info on what's coming to the 2023 Giulia sedan and Stelvio crossover for international markets, the best bits likely destined for our market as well. After introducing new brand hallmarks on the Tonale, the Giulia and Stelvio adopt the revised Trilobo grille and three-section full-LED headlights. You'll need look closely to see the grille differences, but there's a touch more depth and sculpting around the edges. The headlight changes are easier to spot, the "3+3" inspiration coming from the SZ and Brera, which predate the Tonale. The headlights also come with automatic high beams. Other shores that can have fancy lights get the Adaptive Matrix high beams that automatically adjust beam contours so as not to blind oncoming traffic. Yes, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration cleared the mechanics of such lights for use in the U.S. in February of this year, but U.S. laws stipulate a lower maximum brightness than allowed in other markets. We'll see if the matrix system makes it here. The taillights don't appear to have changed, their covers have. The Giulia gets transparent glass taillight covers, the Stelvio gets smoked glass. There could be some illumination tricks front and back, too. We're used to seeing sequential turn signals in back, spy shots have shown a sequential turn signal pattern in the headlights, and Alfa says there's a "'Welcome and Goodbye' device that turns on every time the driver closes or opens the car." Every trim features a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel that comes with three themes. The Heritage theme recalls the analogue gauges on vintage Alfas, with some upside down numbers on the analogue-looking speedo, a minimalist tachometer and a digital facsimile of the old school odometer with rolling numbers. Evolved "represents the future of Alfa Romeo design," placing most information in the center, the circular areas at the edges containing sweeping needles for the speedo and tach, but no numbers in the 'dials.' Relaxed puts nearly everything in the center, putting vitals like fuel level and oil temperature at the sides. Trim levels will be reorganized into two primary levels and two options levels. The basic tiers are Super, the entry-level, and Ti.
