OVERVIEW:
For sale by owner is this super clean 2004 Acura TL. I am the second owner and a non-smoker. This Acura TL has a clean title with a perfect Carfax Report (see below). This car has never been in an accident, never smoked in, and the paint is all original. This TL has been very well kept. Always driven responsibly. It drives perfect with no issues or problems. No smoke, no leaks, no check engine lights, no weird smells, nothing. This TL has been maintained very well and all maintenance is up-to-date. This car needs nothing. I have service records in hand including all major services (timing belt and water pump done at 107K miles). This Acura starts right up every time and idles smoothly. The 3.2L VTEC engine runs nice and quiet with great power on demand. The automatic transmission shifts properly through all gears. The brakes work great with no noises or harsh vibrations. The car drives down the road straight with no pulling or shaking. This TL handles great and drives great in all weather conditions, including snow (front wheel drive with traction control). Suspension is quiet and has no issues. This car has a nice sporty feel to it and I average 29 mpg on the highway. The heat works great and the a/c is ice cold. All power windows and the power moonroof works great. The Viper remote start works awesome and currently it is set to 20 minutes due to the super cold weather we've had. All interior gadgets work perfect with no issues. The 8 speaker premium sound system sounds awesome. All speakers sound perfect (very crisp and clear). I am confident with proper maintenance and a responsible owner this car will easily go another 150K miles.

EXTERIOR:
This TL is a beautiful car. The Redondo Red Pearl exterior is clean and glossy and still has a very nice shine. There are no major dents or scratches and absolutely no rust. All glass is perfect with no chips or cracks. The rims are very clean with no dents, bends, or brake dust stains. One rim has a little curb rash but that's it. The headlights are clear with no cracks or discoloration. The factory installed gold emblems look nice but show a little age. The oem chrome exhaust tips are super clean and still look brand new (I polish them regularly). There are a few touched up paint chips from highway use but other than that this car is super clean with only a few minor scratches from use and 1 very small door ding (see pictures below). This car would look brand new with a nice wax and buff. Overall the exterior is super clean and looks very nice.

INTERIOR:
The ebony interior is very clean as well. There are no broken or missing interior pieces. All buttons and gadgets work perfect with no issues. The leather seats are very comfortable and still look great with little wear. There are no cuts, rips, or stains on the seats. The heated front seats work great. The carpet is clean with no holes or stains. The headliner and door panels are very clean with a little wear on drivers door aluminum trim. The dash has no cracks or issues. The center console and armrest look nice with only a little wear on the center aluminum trim. The steering wheel looks great and has no issues and shows little wear from use. All interior lighting works perfect with no burnt out bulbs. The dash panel, Navigation area, and gauge cluster are clean and look new with no defects. The floor mats are clean with no holes or stains. The trunk area is clean and the car comes with a dealer installed TL rubber tray. The car comes with the oem spare tire and tools. The engine bay is super clean with no issues. Overall the interior is very clean and comfortable.

Any time this car needed something, it got it. The most recent major service was at 107K miles and at that time the following was completed; Timing Belt and Water Pump replaced, New Denso Iridium Spark Plugs Installed, New Cabin Air Filter, K&N Air Filter installed, Brake Fluid Flush, Transmission Fluid Serviced, New Rear Brake Pads and Rotors installed, Cooling System Flush, Remote Start installed, and a New Acura Dealer Key Programmed. 2024 Acura Integra Type S Road Test: Just our Type

Mon, Sep 18 2023

It’s so often the case that a truly special driverÂ’s car reveals itself within the first couple hundred feet behind the wheel. The 2024 Acura Integra Type S is one of those cars. In fact, the Integra Type S doesnÂ’t even need that amount of road to show itself, because so much of what makes this car magical to drive can be felt standing still in the driveway. The fizz starts when you push the well-weighted clutch in, then hear the buzzy and vibrating 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder spring to life. It sends vibrations through the car and straight into your body thanks to the purposefully lacking balance shafts. Little turbocharged motors are typically lacking in character, but the Integra Type SÂ’ engine feels like itÂ’s alive and bumbling with energy at idle. Before you even start to find revs, this engine presents as one designed for performance. Take a spin through the six-speed manual transmission while stationary, and it quickly becomes obvious why Honda is the standard when it comes to manual transmissions. ItÂ’s a combination of the natural fluidity moving through the pattern – going both up and down, each gear seemingly selects itself as your wrist guides the stubby shifter along – and the mechanical click-clack connection you feel through your hand with each shift. The sheer amount of satisfaction it brings to make every last gear change is enough to make any manual enthusiast giddy. I ease off the clutch for the first time, and start to roll those thick 265-section-width tires forward, quickly revealing the perfectly weighted steering rack, clueing me in on how serious this chassis is. The view forward is spectacular past the thin A-pillars. The exhaust goes bang, ratta-tat-tat on the overrun as I ease up to the first stop sign. And the brakes only require a gentle whisper to the mega-responsive pedal to bring this hatchback to a stop. It only takes that couple hundred-foot stretch to realize that this Type S is exactly what I know it to be: a Honda Civic Type R in a different outfit. The comparison is impossible to avoid, and the Honda community may spend the next 50 years debating which one is better – trust me, there will never be a clear-cut answer – but itÂ’s undeniably great that we all get to choose between these two similar driving beasts.

J.D. Power study sees new car dependability problems increase for first time since 1998

Wed, 12 Feb 2014

For the first time since 1998, J.D. Power and Associates says its data shows that the average number of problems per 100 cars has increased. The finding is the result of the firm's much-touted annual Vehicle Dependability Study, which charts incidents of problems in new vehicle purchases over three years from 41,000 respondents.
Looking at first-owner cars from the 2011 model year, the study found an average of 133 problems per 100 cars (PP100, for short), up 6 percent from 126 PP100 in last year's study, which covered 2010 model-year vehicles. Disturbingly, the bulk of the increase is being attributed to engine and transmission problems, with a 6 PP100 boost.
Interestingly, JDP notes that "the decline in quality is particularly acute for vehicles with four-cylinder engines, where problem levels increase by nearly 10 PP100." Its findings also noticed that large diesel engines also tended to be more problematic than most five- and six-cylinder engines.

Acura is launching an all-out assault on Pikes Peak

Sun, Jun 20 2021

Acura is gunning for multiple trophies at Pikes Peak later this month, sending no less than six vehicles to the famed hillclimb event. The fleet consists of two NSX race cars, two TLX Type S race cars, a TLX Type S pace car, and the 2022 MDX Type S making its first public debut. The all-volunteer team comprising Acura employees will be towing the more potent of the TLX race cars 1,300 miles from its base in Ohio to the Colorado venue with an MDX Type S. While a stock TLX Type S weighs 4,221 pounds, a mass that's pretty close to the 355-horsepower, 354 pound-foot flagship's towing capacity of 5,000, the race car is considerably lighter.  Honda put the TLX Type S on a 600-pound diet, gutting the interior and replacing parts with lightweight components like a carbon fiber hood. Naturally, aerodynamic aids like splitters, canards, and spoilers festoon the race car. On top of that, the 3.0-liter V6 it shares with the big brother MDX Type S has been modified with a with a larger turbo and additional cooling to account for the thin air approaching the 14,000-foot summit. Acura engineer Justin Lumbard will helm the TLX in the Pikes Peak Open Division, in which an Acura TLX GT race car holds the record of 9:24.433, set by Acura race veteran Peter Cunningham in 2019. Meanwhile, chassis engineer and cool-name-haver Jordan Guitar will be piloting the other TLX Type S, a more stock version with only a 300-pound diet. Both cars wear race-modified suspensions and HRE 19-inch 19 x 9.5-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli slicks. Likewise, the NSX pairs comprise one hard-core racer and one mostly stock car each, allowing Acura to pursue wins in multiple classes. Drivers and brothers James and Nick Robinson are no strangers to Pikes Peak records. James helped Acura clinch the Hybrid Class record with a time of 10:01.913 in an NSX last year, and is now shooting for a Time Attack 1 Division championship. His NSX puts out around 625 horsepower thanks to larger turbos and reprogrammed engine software. A front splitter, large rear wing, 200-pound weight reduction are just some of the race-prep modifications. Meanwhile, Nick holds the front-wheel-drive record, set in 2018 with a first-generation Acura TLX and a time of 10:48.094. This year, Nick is behind the wheel of an NSX that's all stock — aside from safety equipment and race tires — in the hopes of achieving a Time Attack 2 production record attempt.
