2000 Acura Rl - ** No Reserve, Heated Seats, Moonroof, Power Everything ** on 2040-cars
Hicksville, New York, United States
2000 Acura RL -- 162k
Pearl White on Beige Leather Seats Paint is really nice, no peeling or any major flaws. Leather is in great condition -- no rips or cracks. Car is loaded and in perfect operating condition. Engine runs strong and transmission shifts smooth. Features include a DVD in-dash radio head unit, upgraded LED dash cluster lights, power moonroof, power windows, heated seats, heated mirrors, and many many more. This is my mother's car, but she's retiring and moving upstate so she no longer will be needing it. She has put about 21,000 miles on this car since she's owned it and we have never had a single issue with it. It runs very smooth and has been as reliable as you would expect from an Acura. Feel free to come down and take a test drive. The car also just passed NYS inspection a couple of weeks ago, so you don't have to worry about getting that done. Just turn the key and go! This is a no reserve auction and the highest bidder will win it, good luck... |

2014 Acura RLX
Fri, 15 Feb 2013Good. But Good Enough?
Spoiler alert: The 2014 Acura RLX is a good car. But that shouldn't come as a surprise. Despite the fact that Acura is subject to a lot of criticism for things like its odd positioning in the automotive landscape, questionable styling choices in recent years, and the fact that, more or less, its products feel like lux'd-up Hondas rather than something truly unique, the cars have always been inherently good - decent to drive, nice to sit in and reliable to own. That's what happens when you ride that sort of "affordable luxury" line.
Because Acura's sedans don't really fit into any one definable segment, the brand hopes it can draw customers from a broader range who aren't necessarily dedicated to a certain marque. And while there's certainly rhyme to that reason on the more entry-level end of the spectrum, that proposition makes less sense as you move toward higher price points. (Have a gander at the Hyundai Equus, if you will.) On the other hand, Acura pulled data from a 2012 Strategic Vision survey that showed the number one purchase decision for luxury buyers last year was value for the money, with manufacturer reputation coming in at a close second.
Acura puts on display of mechanical horsepower in new ad
Tue, 11 Feb 2014Originally forged with a brand identity based on luxury, sportiness and practicality, Acura has spent the last decade or so struggling with its image. The sporting credibility suffered a mighty blow with the loss of cars like the Integra, RSX and NSX, and recent years have seen the Japanese company attempting to recast itself as a technology leader.
All of that makes this latest Acura commercial, Let The Race Begin, even more difficult to understand, metaphorically speaking. The horsepower-horse race 'theme' certainly isn't difficult to fathom, with mecca-equine versions of popular luxury brands filling the screen. But the choice to make Acura's filly a flesh-and-blood creation seems odd, for the high-tech theme. Acura as "thoroughbred apart from the rest of the field" seems to be the rough message here, though we're not sure we're buying it. We're also not sure we're comfortable with how much these ponies reminded us of a certain off-putting robotic dog...
Looks expensive, at any rate. Watch the robot ponies run for yourself, below.
