2012 ACURA MDX, Base SH-AWD…
I bought it in October 2013 on car auction as a “Rebuild Flood Vehicle” vehicle with only 132 miles on it. This MDX was never sold to the end user. It was flood damaged on the dealer’s lot and sold thru insurance auction site. When I got it, it was in relatively OK condition but I was not completely satisfied how it was rebuilt. Carpet was still dirty, some scratches and cosmetic blemishes on the interior, some odor, etc. I decided to rebuild it myself again using brand new OEM parts. So, I gut out the entire interior, cleaned everything with bleach and treated with anti-mold solution (just in case). Installed brand new carpet, interior plastic trims, center console sides, seat backings and much more. Restored/replaced seats and cleaned the rest. Right now the car is in perfect working condition and it has a “new car smell”. Have to see to believe. At the end, I took it to the local Acura dealer to change all the oils (engine, transmission, front differential, rear differential) just in case and to check everything else. All perfect. I spent about $5000 to bring it to this state. However, there are still some small and very minor dents/scratches left that I am OK with. I have receipts for all the parts and service that I did and I’ll give them to the new owner.
This MDX has a lot of nice features. Here are just some… - Bluetooth communication with your phone for hands free talking. Voice recognition commands, phonebook, multiple phones, etc… - Auto dimming and heated mirrors - Heated front seats - Backup camera - Automatic Headlights - Turns ON when dark - Super Handling AWD with indication of power distribution to each wheel - ABS and stability control. - Acura Link - Three garage openers built in. - XM Satellite Radio - 6 CD/MP3 Disk changer - Tire pressure monitoring system. - Compass with outside air thermometer - And many many more….
Includes brand new original Acura all weather floor mats (recently installed) I have a carfax report available.
I am selling it $7500 below the blue book good condition value just because of the title. Vehicle is in perfect working condition. According to carfax this vehicle should be priced only $2500 below the retail book value based on the reported flood damage and salvage title. Great deal for almost brand new vehicle that is priced $43K. Please call Dan at 310 308 1186. I have a full time job so if I don’t pickup the phone, please leave a message and I’ll return your call as soon as I can.
Thank you for looking… |

2021 Acura TLX Long-Term Update | Seats look great, feel less so
Fri, Jun 11 2021There's a lot to like about our Acura TLX A-Spec's interior. In particular, I love the vivid red leather upholstery, the satisfying drive mode selector, and the loads of space inside. What I'm not so in love with is the actual design of the front seats. They look great and are quite shapely with the undulating black faux suede inserts and leather piping separating the aforementioned red leather panels. But they're underwhelming when they're under you. My biggest complaint is that the seat bottom is extremely short, and the adjustment for angle is a bit limited. As such, my thighs lack support, and on a long trip, this can become quite uncomfortable. The Acura is far from the only car I've experienced with this issue, but with our car priced over $45,000, it's surprising there isn't more adjustment, or some sort of seat base extender common in sportier cars (most notably BMW). 2021 Acura TLX A-Spec View 51 Photos Also disappointing is the lack of lateral support. The seats look like they have some decent bolsters, but they're very soft and fairly wide apart. As such, they don't do much to keep you in place. And although this isn't the full-force Type S, the A-Spec still has an air of sportiness about it, so it seems like something Acura would want to improve a little. It's not all bad, though. The seats themselves have thick and reasonably soft cushioning, so the parts of you that are supported are comfortable. The adjustable lumbar support is actually quite excellent with the ability to add quite a bit over a large area. Overall, I'm not angry with the TLX's seats, I'm just a bit disappointed. They wouldn't put me off the car, I just think that, for as good as so much else is, it deserves something better. Related Video:
Driving Iron Man's Favorite Supercar, The Acura NSX | Translogic 215
Thu, Feb 9 2017There's fast, and then there's 3 electric motors plus a twin-turbo 3.5L V6 fast. On this episode of Translogic, we're dealing exclusively with the latter. Our host Jonathon Buckley heads to Atlanta, GA to experience the hybrid-electric power of the Acura NSX. Bucko even had the opportunity to chat with the car's chief engineer about how the NSX is evolving the segment, much like its predecessor did nearly 3 decades ago. "It's gonna change the automotive segment very much like that original car did," said Jason Widmer, Chief Engineer for the NSX. Referencing the all-aluminum body on the original car and the 3 extra electric motors on the current model, Jason brings to light some of the more leading edge pieces of technology in the vehicles. Between the insanely smooth acceleration and the wonderfully loud engine noises, this is one hybrid that seems to give drivers the best of both worlds. This car has so much cool tech, it's no wonder it was Iron Man's vehicle of choice in the cinema blockbuster The Avengers. This is one car you have to see to believe so check out the episode above and see what we mean! Second-generation Acura TLX could inaugurate a turbocharged V6
Mon, Apr 13 2020The second-generation TLX will inaugurate a turbocharged V6 engine developed specifically for the Acura brand, according to a recent report. The six will power a range-topping, performance-oriented variant of the sedan. Honda's luxury division gave us a thinly-veiled preview of the next TLX when it introduced the Type S concept (pictured) at The Quail in 2019. While technical details were left out of the announcement, Car and Driver learned from sources familiar with the company's plans that the sedan will receive a new V6 whose displacement will likely check in at 3.0 liters. It will reportedly make over 300 horsepower thanks to at least one turbocharger. The 3.0-liter will replace the 290-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 available in the current-generation TLX. Several members of the Honda range also use the bigger six, it's notably found in the Ridgeline pickup, but none will receive its replacement; it's Acura-specific. Transmission options remain unconfirmed. C/D added the TLX will receive a turbocharged, 2.0-liter four-cylinder as its entry-level engine. It's related to the four that powers the Honda Accord, and it will spin the front wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive will be offered at an extra cost. The sedan will ride on a new platform, and it will drive better than its predecessor regardless of cylinder count thanks in part to a comprehensively redesigned front suspension. Earlier spy shots depicting heavily-camouflaged test mules suggest the next TLX will look a lot like the Type S concept. It will take Acura's design language in a more evocative direction that will permeate the rest of the range in the coming years. Inside, motorists will find a touchpad-controlled infotainment system like the RDX's. Acura resorted to automotive omerta when asked to confirm or deny the rumors. The company simply told Autoblog it will introduce two new vehicles in the next 12 or so months and unveil a brand-exclusive turbocharged V6, which adds credibility to the report. We'll need to muster a little bit more patience to learn more. Related Video: Â Â Featured Gallery Acura Type S Concept photos View 16 Photos Rumormill Acura Sedan
