2001 Acura MDX , clear (last accident never reported) "clean" title. Not salvage, rebuilt or rebuildable.

Passenger side glanced down utility pole, no visible frame damage. Rt Front axle and wheel broken.
You COULD buy an axle for $60.00, bring a spare tire, battery, fusible link, and gallon of gasoline and drive it up onto your trailer, otherwise it will need to be hauled on a rollback, or you'll something that will bring the broken axle up onto your trailer.

Transmission was working fine at time of collision. I have no doubts that it works, but because the vehicle won't drive in its current condition, I won't stick my neck out on that one, but it was working at time of accident (Otherwise it wouldn't be wrecked, correct? just sitting there with a bad tranny); I had just returned to TN from Cincinnati shortly before.

Local tire-kicker hooked battery up backwards week of 01/25/14, promptly removed horn relay (the WARNING that he had hooked it up wrong), and proceeded to burn fusible link out, but I guarantee engine to run, it was running right before the "expert" (also read: idiot) came along.

Trip computer, instrument panel, CD player, all worked 100% before the link was blown, I'll assume all is still  a-ok.

Running boards included

Exhaust removed.

Radiator okay

AC system okay

Rear Air Okay

Hood no damage, just cracked lid for photos.

Photos detail interior and exterior condition. Dash, headliner, seats. Airbags deployed. Where this truck has been parked over a year facing due south, the only part of the interior I would consider non-usable would be the wood-grain trim between the gear-shifter and the console, it has "rippled" from sun exposure.

Shocks and struts replaced 30K ago.

Vehicle always meticulously maintained until time of accident.

Other than obvious rust where paint is missing any discoloration you see on the metal is just dirt and pollen...the vehicle is beside a tree farm in the Cherokee National Forest; lots and lots of pollen!

At opening bid of $1000 (roughly the cost of the engine, used), this is one heck of an opportunity for a salvage or body shop to make a tidy profit, and with the recent storms from TX to New England, the parts demand should definitely be there.

IMPORTANT:
SHIPPING is 100% the buyer's burden; vehicle is in 37643, TN. I would prefer to receive cash in person opposed to Paypal, but winning bidder may deposit $500 at time of auction's close if they wish.

All sales final ; ask any questions before you bid, and at the risk of appearing harsh - PLEASE do not waste your time and mine by requesting and making offers for parts. Should I determine to part the vehicle out myself, I will post the parts on eBay, but please respect that it's MY determination to make.

2021 Acura TLX Long-Term Update | Seats look great, feel less so

Fri, Jun 11 2021

There's a lot to like about our Acura TLX A-Spec's interior. In particular, I love the vivid red leather upholstery, the satisfying drive mode selector, and the loads of space inside. What I'm not so in love with is the actual design of the front seats. They look great and are quite shapely with the undulating black faux suede inserts and leather piping separating the aforementioned red leather panels. But they're underwhelming when they're under you. My biggest complaint is that the seat bottom is extremely short, and the adjustment for angle is a bit limited. As such, my thighs lack support, and on a long trip, this can become quite uncomfortable. The Acura is far from the only car I've experienced with this issue, but with our car priced over $45,000, it's surprising there isn't more adjustment, or some sort of seat base extender common in sportier cars (most notably BMW). 2021 Acura TLX A-Spec View 51 Photos Also disappointing is the lack of lateral support. The seats look like they have some decent bolsters, but they're very soft and fairly wide apart. As such, they don't do much to keep you in place. And although this isn't the full-force Type S, the A-Spec still has an air of sportiness about it, so it seems like something Acura would want to improve a little. It's not all bad, though. The seats themselves have thick and reasonably soft cushioning, so the parts of you that are supported are comfortable. The adjustable lumbar support is actually quite excellent with the ability to add quite a bit over a large area. Overall, I'm not angry with the TLX's seats, I'm just a bit disappointed. They wouldn't put me off the car, I just think that, for as good as so much else is, it deserves something better. Related Video:

Acura TLX sales stopped over rollaway fears

Tue, Dec 9 2014

A bad indicator that could convince customers that affected cars are in park, even when they aren't, has pushed Acura to issue a stop-sale for the V6-equipped TLX sedan. The company has already alerted the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the potential safety defect. According to Consumer Reports, the defect is being blamed on unnamed transmission components in the nine-speed-automatic transmissions, which were damaged during assembly. A representative from Acura confirmed to CR that a more complete statement would be coming once the case can be reviewed by NHTSA. At this point, this case isn't a full recall, although it seems quite likely that's the direction it will take. Stay tuned for more.

2023 Acura RDX gains convenience features, costs $750 more

Mon, Oct 24 2022

The 2023 Acura RDX has made it to dealer lots boasting a couple of new add-ons and a higher MSRP. Honda's luxury arm rejigged the equipment list for the 2022 model year, addressing the omissions that many, including us, griped about. Beyond the styling tweaks, the RDX got a quieter cabin, reworked drive modes and a retuned active suspension, standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa compatibility, and a USB-C charging port. Enhanced convenience and safety gear counted blind-spot warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and chassis reinforcements to improve crash performance. For 2023, Acura has made three years of AcuraLink and two years of the Acura Maintenance Package standard. AcuraLink includes the Security and Remote Packages. The former notifies a help center in case of a collision or emergency, and provides "enhanced roadside assistance." The latter gives owners smartphone control of the vehicle from a distance so they can start and stop the engine, lock and unlock the doors, find their vehicle whether it's simply been parked or if it's been stolen, and geofence a driving area. The maintenance package takes care of scheduled care for two years or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first. The 2023 version of the two-row crossover starts at $750 more than it did in 2022. This isn't bad considering AcuraLink runs $359 for a three-year commitment and a maintenance package would easily cost a few hundred more — or about the price of a bag of groceries lately. MSRPs for the 2023 RDX range after the $1,195 destination charge are: RDX: $42,545 RDX with Technology Package: $45,195 RDX A-Spec: $48,195 RDX with Advance Package (AWD only): $52,545 RDX A-Spec with Advance Package (AWD only): $54,545 Adding AWD to the three lower trims costs $2,200. Every RDX gets powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, shifted through a ten-speed automatic. Related video:
