An extremely rare classic Black 1994 Acura Legend GS (Type II) 6 speed manual 4 door sedan with clean title and no accident. This is quite possibly the cleanest mint condition low-mileage 6 speed Legend sedan in the world. State Farm has officially issued a special vintage classic car insurance for this vehicle, it is one of only approximately 400 units ever produced by Acura. Legend enthusiasts have long treasured the 6 speed Legend 2 door Coupes, but the 6 speed Sedans are ultra rare. It took me 15 years to find this car, and I have never seen another 6 speed sedan in person. This car has never been raced or modified, both the exterior and interior are in great condition, absolutely luxurious inside, no fading on paint, not even a single scrape on any of the four factory wheels! Currently has just 114,650 original miles, it runs smooth and sublime, engine sounds fantastic, clutch is excellent, no wind noise on highway, an incredibly fun car to drive.

I have invested a total of $18,000 on this 6 speed Legend since purchase in 2012, which included cosmetic restorations, up to date maintenance, repairs, and purchase price. As of now, the car is running perfectly and no major services are due for another 86,000 miles!!! I really thought that I would keep this car forever, but then I happened to lease an electric car for my commute -- enjoying the no gas bill and the electric motor torque! I hope to find another Legend enthusiast who will appreciate all the meticulous work I did for this rare Legend. All service and restoration are documented and all receipts are available for the buyer. Passed Smog and Registered through Aug 2014.

Special Offer after the auction: This Ebay auction includes the original Acura/Boss factory cassette radio that is in the pictures on Ebay. The car currently is fitted with a Pioneer's latest flagship AVIC-Z150BH Navigation (2013-14 model) with Bluetooth handsfree calling and music streaming, DVD/CD/Movie/Netflix Playback on 7 inch touch screen with surround sound, and HD Radio, AppRadio, Live Traffic indication on map, and integrated steering wheel control - I wanted to have the latest & the best entertainment system on the road, and this is it! Better features than most high end luxury cars!!   That Pioneer system is NOT INCLUDED in the auction, but if you are the winner of the auction, and would like to have that Pioneer set up instead, I could offer it to you for an additional $800 - It cost me $1300 installed at City Radio in San Rafael last year.  If you still prefer the original factory Bose premium radio, I will take out the Pioneer unit and put back the original Acura radio, which is in absolutely perfect condition.  No wires in the back have been cut during the professional installation.

For more detail pictures of the car with the current Pioneer set up which can be included at an additional $800, please go to link: http://s142.photobucket.com/user/zolzen/library/Legend6MT2014

I am auctioning this Legend 6 speed sedan at a fraction of what I spent on, it's a real bargain for such an amazingly rare 6 speed Legend Sedan.  The car can be viewed in San Rafael or San Francisco by appointment during the auction. Thanks for looking!

2020 Acura RDX Driveway Test | How does a stroller fit?

Wed, Jun 10 2020

From the people who brought you the Luggage Test, it's the Stroller Test! I know, sequels, right?  However, as someone who was recently in the market for a stroller and didn't want to buy a new/gigantic family vehicle to accommodate it (not to mention needing to potentially store it in every vehicle currently sold), knowing how big strollers were and how they might fit in cars was important.  Now, I can't do much in terms of testing a variety of strollers. For that, I would direct you to Baby Gear Lab, which has quite the comprehensive stroller testing program (Wire Cutter is another good source). One of the things I appreciated about Baby Gear Lab was their independent measurements of each stroller, which through the magic of maths, they translate into more easily comparable cubic-inch measurements.  I ultimately chose the new Thule Spring, which is one of the most compact regular strollers on the market, with a folded volume of 5,402 cubic inches (my own independent measurement based on 30 inches long, 16.75 inches wide and 10.75 inches tall). By comparison, the comparable Baby Jogger City Mini 2 when folded is 8,300 cubic-inches according to Baby Gear Lab, while Thule's top-rated jogging stroller, the Urban Glide 2, is 15,388 cubic inches. In other words, if the Thule Spring takes up a lot of space in a trunk, virtually everything else apart from ultra-compact travel strollers will take up even more. This is essentially a best-case scenario.  First up, the 2020 Acura RDX, which is one of the most family friendly compact luxury crossovers. Actually, "compact" is almost a misnomer given how much passenger and cargo space is present. And don't you worry dear friends, that cargo space will be fully put to the test soon with good old-fashioned luggage. Since the RDX is first to be tested, we'll just have to consider it in a vacuum. Not many words to spill here. Now here's the Spring on its side. I already know that it can't fit like this in my Audi Allroad when the cargo cover and cargo net cartridges are in place. It would in the RDX with its cargo cover.  And that's all she wrote. Hopefully this series will prove helpful. Please let me know if there's anything else to be considered — I'm new to this.

2015 Acura TLX prototype to debut in Detroit, TSX to be discontinued

Thu, 19 Dec 2013

Acura confirmed that its new mid-range sedan, the TLX, will debut in prototype form at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show next month. The automaker is currently mum on specific details, but in a press release, Acura stated, "The all-new model will feature more emotional styling with tidier, sports sedan proportions wrapped around two all-new advanced powertrains that provide even more athletic performance, along with a host of signature Acura technologies."
During an event in Detroit earlier this week, Mike Accavitti, American Honda's senior vice president, told Autoblog that the introduction of the TLX will create a three-tier sedan lineup for the luxury brand in the United States. In other words, the TLX won't just replace the aging TL, it will also mark the death of the smaller TSX sedan (and wagon). The TSX will officially be axed sometime next year.
The 2015 TLX will be available with either two- (read: front) or all-wheel drive, and will use two direct-injected engines, both of which will be mated to a brand-new transmission. We'll have more details in just a few weeks, but for now, scroll down to read Acura's official press blast.

Acura Infotainment Review | Just give it some time

Tue, Apr 20 2021

Acura’s True Touchpad infotainment system is a hot topic at Autoblog HQ. Some of us utterly detest its functionality. Others, myself included, will plead its case as a worthy alternative to normal infotainment systems. “ItÂ’s not that bad,” IÂ’ll say over and over. I had to eat my words to a certain extent when our long term 2021 Acura TLXÂ’s infotainment system broke recently due to bad wire connectors, but now that itÂ’s up and running again, itÂ’s time to give it a proper shake. The screen in this TLX is a high-resolution, 10.2-inch monitor that sits far from the driver on the carÂ’s dash top. ItÂ’s oriented horizontally in a widescreen format. The controversial bit I mentioned at the beginning is all to do with how you navigate the user interface using AcuraÂ’s unique touchpad. It uses something Acura calls absolute positioning technology, meaning that where your finger is on the touchpad corresponds to the same spot on the screen, allowing you to select whatever is in that location. Press down on the top right corner of the touchpad, and the square located in the top right corner of the screen is selected — no need to “swipe” over to it. This takes a considerable amount of time to adapt to. I didnÂ’t master it or get used to it overnight. In fact, itÂ’s really rather frustrating out of the gate. Virtually all touchpads in cars before this one are more intuitive at first. Just swipe around the pad, and your “cursor” swipes around with you. After a couple road trips, plenty of takeout runs and everything in between, IÂ’ve become a believer in AcuraÂ’s technology, though, with one major caveat IÂ’ll address later on. 2021 Acura TLX infotainment View 7 Photos Once you have enough time and practice to become fluent with AcuraÂ’s way of doing things (something our long-term Acura TLX has allowed us the rare opportunity to do), the absolute positioning strategy starts to make more sense. You can select an app like FM radio or Apple CarPlay in an instant — faster than any regular touchpad or scroll wheel will allow. ItÂ’s no wild speed demon, but you can navigate the main menu structure faster here than you can in most cars.  AcuraÂ’s user interface is tailored to fit its operation with big squares that are easily findable in your touchpad to press. It gets a little tougher once you get into an app like Navigation or Sirius XM, as it requires more precise positioning of your finger to get to the right spot.
