I DRIVE THIS CAR DAILY SO MILEAGE MAY GO UP JUST A LITTLE BIT, BUT SHOULDNT BE MUCH...I DON'T GO VERY FAR. I GOT THIS CAR IN A TRADE AND HAVE ENJOYED WORKING ON IT AND DRIVING IT. I HAVE DONE ALL THE MAINTENANCE LISTED ABOVE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE T-BELT AND WATER PUMP. THE PREVIOUS OWNER DID THESE SERVICES BEFORE WE TRADED. NO LEAKS WHAT SO EVER. TRANSMISSION SHIFTS FLAWLESSLY.
THE CAR RUNS WELL. VTEC COMES ON STRONG. THE ONLY ISSUES I HAVE EVER RUN INTO WITH THIS VEHICLE WOULD BE FROM THE WIRE TUCK THE PREVIOUS OWNER DID. THEY DID NOT DO A GREAT JOB IN MY OPINION. OCCASIONALLY I HAVE HAD TO REPAIR SENSOR ENDS THAT WERE STRETCHED OR ADDED TO USING SPLICES. WHEN EVER I RAN INTO THE ISSUES I WOULD SOLDER AND HEATSHRINK THE AREA.
SO THE CONS, IN MY OPINION WOULD BE:
-THE WIRE TUCK ( FUSE PANEL WAS RELOCATED INSIDE THE PASSENGER FLOOR AREA) BATTERY IS IN THE RIGHT REAR The srs and abs lights are on due to the tuck.
- THE AC WAS REMOVED. ( I HAVE ALL THE ORIGINAL WORKING PARTS EXCEPT FOR THE DRYER AND THE 2 LINES THAT GO TO IT.) I DO HAVE THE COMPRESSOR AND OTHER LINES AND FAN.
IF I WERE GOING TO KEEP THE CAR, I WOULD HAVE SOURCED EITHER A NEW HARNESS OR GONE WITH A CLEAN RY-WIRE SETUP OR CHASE BAYS HARNESS.
I ALSO WANT TO NOTE THAT IT DOES BURN A LITTLE BIT OF OIL BETWEEN CHANGES, IT HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED AS NEEDING VALVE SEALS...I JUST HAVE NOT HAD THE TIME TO DO THESE YET. THIS PROCEDURE CAN BE DONE WITH OUT PULLING THE HEAD.
- SOME CLEAR COAT IS CHIPPING ON THE CARBON HOOD IN THE TOP LEFT CORNER.
-THE WING IS FROM HONDA, BUT IS ACTUALLY A CIVIC WING.
-SOME PAINT IS FADING ON THE WHEELS..COULD EASILY BE RESPRAYED..IT JUST NEVER BOTHERED ME.
-I REMOVED THE REAR WIPER FOR A CLEANER LOOK..IT WILL COME WITH THE CAR. I HAVE IT IN A BOX WITH THE AC PARTS.
-I BOUGHT EBAY VENT SHADES. THE 3M DIDNT STICK WELL, SO I HAD TO USE SOME NEW 3M....LOOKS GOOD AND THEY WORK, BUT YOU CAN SEE LITTLE GAPS AROUND THE EDGE IF YOU GET UP ON THEM. COULD BE EASILY REMOVED IF IT BOTHERS YOU. YOU CAN SEE A PICTURE IN THE ALBUM TO SEE WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.
ALL IN ALL, THE CAR GETS A LOT OF LOVE, IS PRETTY RELIABLE AND FAIRLY RARE LAST YEAR WITH A PRETTY MUCH STOCK APPEARANCE. I HAVE TRIED TO DO UPGRADES AND MAINTENANCE THAT ONLY HELP IT TO PERFORM. CAR HANDLES GREAT AND THE FRONT END IS FOR THE MOST PART NEW. YOU CAN STILL ADJUST THE HEIGHT IF YOU WANT IT HIGHER OR LOWER. I HAVE REPAIRED ALL OF THE ENGINE CODES THAT WERE ON IT WHEN I GOT IT. IT CLEARS 5 DRIVE CYCLES ALMOST INSTANTLY. THE PO DID REMOVE THE EVAP SYSTEM WHEN HE DID THE TUCK. I ADDED IT BACK THE BEST I COULD FOR EMMISIONS TESTING, BUT I GET AN EVAP CODE AFTER ABOUT 250 MILES, I MAY HAVE THE HOSES ROUTED WRONG. IM NOT SURE. DOESNT AFFECT VTEC OR ANYTHING, IT WILL EVEN PASS TESTING HERE IN TN, JUST NOT SURE ABOUT OTHER PLACES. JUST WANTED YOU TO KNOW. I HAVE TRIED TO GIVE FULL DISCLOSURE AND WANT YOU TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE GETTING. ITS NOT BRAND NEW, BUT STILL A VERY NICE EXAMPLE.
***(I am keeping the shift knob in the pics, I do have one that is very similar that will go with the car....it was a gift) ***
The car is in Nashville if you want to come by and check it out. Message me and we can set something up. If you have any questions please let me know.
I am about 5 mins from the Nashville airport so I can pick you up if you are flying in. I would trust the car for a long road trip...I would bring a scanner though in case an issue pops up with the harness. ( again, I am not a fan of this wire tuck)
PLEASE SEE THE PHOTOBUCKET ALBUM....A LOT OF DETAILED PICTURES!!!!

2022 Acura MDX revealed with official pricing and specs
Tue, Dec 8 2020The 2022 Acura MDX has finally been unveiled in production guise, and no surprise, it looks just like the prototype that was shown a couple months ago. Inside and out, there doesn't seem to be any difference. It also turns out that most of the details given regarding the prototype are the same for the production car. But we do have some more details and specifications, and we even have pricing. The MDX is completely redesigned from the ground-up. It is the first vehicle to use a new platform for light-truck use, and is not shared with the also recently redesigned Acura TLX sedan. There are similarities, though, as the MDX has a double-wishbone front suspension and multilink independent rear suspension as the TLX has. Acura notes that the chassis is the stiffest crossover/SUV chassis the company has ever created. Acura also added larger front brake rotors; they're 1.2 inches larger in diameter. It's a bigger body than the previous MDX, too. It's 2.2 inches longer overall, with a 2.8-inch longer wheelbase. It's 1.4 inches wider than the old model, and is about half an inch taller. The proportions have changed significantly with a longer dash-to-axle ratio that gives the new MDX the look of a rear-drive vehicle. The hood is more horizontal, adding length visually. The sheet metal is clean and smooth with only a handful of creases and pieces of trim adorning it. As for the interior, the design is very similar to the TLX and RDX with chunky, curvy panels. Six different leather colors are available, with the selection varying by trim package. Ambient lighting with 27 different color combinations is also available, and besides the combinations based on the drive modes, they're all named after race tracks and roads such as Suzuka and Route 66. Only one seating combination is available and it's unique. Rather than offering a choice of a second-row bench seat or captain's chairs, the new MDX effectively offers both. It has a second-row bench in which the middle seat can fold down to provide a large center console, or it can be removed entirely to provide access to the two-seat third-row bench. This versatility means every MDX can hold seven passengers. The third-row bench has also gained 2.4 inches of leg room, and the seat sits another 1.4-inches off the floor, all of which should make the way-back more comfortable. Not only that, but cargo space has increased.
2024 Acura ZDX getting Google in its infotainment
Tue, Jun 6 2023Acura is joining a number of automakers (such as Polestar, Chevrolet and others) in integrating Google apps directly in its infotainment system, first on the 2024 ZDX electric SUV. The integration includes Google Maps, Google Assistant and other Google apps. Additionally, the infotainment will continue to support phone mirroring apps such as Apple CarPlay and Google's own Android Auto. Among those apps, perhaps the most useful will be Google Maps. The reason being that it will be able to plan routes that include charging stops and charging time estimates. In addition to the routing, Google Maps will be able to tell the car to start preconditioning the battery for the fastest possible charge times when going to a DC fast charger. Of course, other Google apps will let you sign in with your account so that you have access to them without connecting your phone. But fortunately, you can connect and mirror your phone. This is notable as the ZDX will be on the GM Ultium platform, like the Honda Prologue. And GM is removing Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support from its upcoming Ultium models. So if you do like those features and are interested in the Ultium electrics, you may want to consider the Acura and Honda models. Another interesting tidbit from the Acura infotainment announcement is the fact that the ZDX will feature a touchscreen for the infotainment system. Almost all of Acura's current gas-powered vehicles use an infotainment system built around a touchpad, which is the only way to interact with the system. The one exception so far has been the Integra, which simply lifted the Civic system wholesale. Acura didn't say if the touchpad would also be included in the ZDX, though the screenshot of the system seems touchscreen-focused. The ZDX is going on sale early next year, with a reveal presumably happening between now and then. As previously mentioned, it will be Ultium-based, and we're expecting it to be similar in size and performance to the Chevy Blazer EV. A high-performance Type S version will be offered, and we wouldn't be surprised if it gets something similar to the 557 horsepower of the Blazer EV SS. Acura NSX owners receive custom short teaser movies of their personal car
Mon, Dec 19 2016In a neat bit of fan service for those who've ordered Acura's new NSX halo car, the company will make a short film that reflects the way the car's been configured. Those films are on their way to future owners as you read this. In addition, they'll get a 1:18 scale custom model of their own car, reflecting every appearance option inside and out. That's neat. So neat, in fact, that we decided to commission our own video. We got together and configured a car in the lovely Nouvelle Blue Pearl, and sent our build over to Acura. They put together a video that's mostly representative of what an owner would see. You can see our build plate (hint: it says "Autoblog – Precision Crafted By Performance Manufacturing Center" on it), and that's "our" car on the dyno starting about 22 seconds in. If you want to check out someone else's film, you can compare our build to Jay Leno's. The reason Acura can do this is that there simply aren't that many available configurations for the NSX. This is at the root of one of the main criticisms some of our editors have about the car. An NSX starts at darn close to $160,000, and there are eight paint options (not too bad), four interior color options, and three seating options. All well and good, but compare that to the 16 paint and 12 interior color/material choices in a 911 Turbo, for example, choosing a similarly high-performance car at a similar price range. And there's a further wrinkle: Porsche will paint your car to match a sample you provide, so in reality the ability for an owner to make the car uniquely theirs is infinite, if you don't mind paying for it. See also the BMW Individual program, or McLaren's MSO one-offs. We're not just talking about the MSO Defined options, but the MSO Bespoke program itself, which will basically do anything you want to the car as long as it's road legal and your check doesn't bounce. We've been to MSO, and they're not kidding: they'll build anything. So yes, these custom videos are nice fan service, and they'll certainly jazz up the buyers who've already ordered one of these dynamically impressive cars. It's a move that builds loyalty, and certainly doesn't have much of a drawback. But for us, already a bit sensitive to Acura's conservative option list for the NSX, it serves to highlight the gap between Acura and the more established brands in catering to well-off customers' desire for bespoke range-topping creations.
