normal wear and tear on vehicle of its age.  engine is leaking oil.  when engine oil started leaking, engine developed slight miss.  car is still drivable, however.  parts or repair.  easy for someone who knows how to fix this.  other than that, the vehicle is very solid!  transmission is great!  glass, stereo, battery, TURBO, heated seats, paint, suspension, alignment, air conditioning COLD heat, all GREAT!

new parts include struts, shocks, ball joints, abs module, TIMING BELT, mass air flow sensor, brakes, rotors, one brake caliper, to name a few.

inclused in on the bid will be a BRAND NEW TURBO i bought to upgrade the factory turbo!  i never installed it, and i doubt i will ever use it.

the oil leak was a deal breaker for my fiance'.  she just wants a different car.  my loss is your gain!  i think its a simple fix, but she doesnt want it any more.  it has been meticulously maintained up until this sad part.  been a good premium fuel swilling wagon for us for years!y

PRO'S:
 SOLID transmission,
TIGHT susension,
glass,
seats,
alignment,
lights,
POWER sunroof,
luxury power options

DRIVEABLE! COLD AIR WORKS

almost all power options work WELL!
paint good,
too many options and functional items to list!  VERY FAST CAR!!
free extra turbo part upgrade INCLUDED!

CONS:
check engine light  just came on
engine developed miss (i think its a ignition coil wire, but i am not sure)
engine LEAKING oil.....  badly.....   only leaks when car is on.  must be a pressure seal or something.  but, my fiance' is ready to let it go instead of fixing it.
the rear wiper doesnt work anymore (really dont notice it much)
sometimes the rear hatch latch sticks....  its working now however....  and the hatch has to me held up to keep open

again i would keep the car, but she doesnt want me to keep it.  my loss is your gain. HAPPY BIDDING!  NO RESERVE!

Volvo offers up more details on 2015 XC90 and its new infotainment system

Tue, 03 Jun 2014

We have more details on the 2015 Volvo XC90 and the all-new, touch-heavy infotainment system that will debut with it. An expansion of the Sensus system, as we've shown you before, we now know the new system won't only sport a large, vertically oriented touchscreen, but a head-up display and the ability to manage the systems via wheel-mounted buttons.
Key to the entire experience are the large, portrait-oriented touchscreen, a head-up display and the thumb controls you can see on the face of the steering wheel in the image above. Volvo is claiming that this combination will be easier to use and, fittingly for the Swedish manufacturer, safer.
"Using the screen is so logical that it will become part of your muscle memory very quickly," said Dr. Peter Mertens, Volvo's senior vice president of research and development. "Information, navigation and media are high up and easy to check. The phone controls, application icons and climate controls are located low, comfortable to reach and touch. All of this logic is based on extensive usability and user experience research and the latest technology."

Volvo working on ultra-lux four-seat XC90 for China?

Tue, 09 Sep 2014

In China, it's all about being driven. That's why we've seen so many automakers stretch their most popular models to appeal to buyers in the Chinese market. Volvo is certainly no stranger to this, and according to Autocar, the company is already working on a super-lux, four-seat version of its recently launched XC90 crossover.
Volvo won't stretch the XC90 and just increase second-row legroom, however. Instead, the company will reportedly remove both the standard XC90's second and third row benches, and install a duplicate set of front seats in the rear compartment, featuring the same electric adjustment features, including massage. These more luxurious thrones will be placed further back in the vehicle, allowing for "exceptional" legroom, Autocar reports, without needing to stretch the wheelbase.
Mum's the word on when we can expect to see the high-zoot Volvo arrive, though the magazine estimates that it surface later this year.

Volvo recommits to Sweden with development of next-gen platform and engines

Tue, 04 Dec 2012

Taking into account the facts that Volvo is now owned by China's Geely and how poorly the European automotive market has been recently, we would have definitely understood if Volvo moved production of its products out of its home market. And yet, the automaker has confirmed that it will be investing billions of dollars into new platforms and engines that will be made in Sweden. On a global scale, Volvo is making roughly $11 billion of investments, and close to half of that is being earmarked for Sweden for plant expansion and upgrades.
The new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform will be the used as the basis for most future Volvo products starting with the next-generation XC90 that will be debuting at the end of 2014. SPA will be used to make up two-thirds of Volvo's sales, and gives Volvo a quicker and easier break from Ford-derived platforms. As for the Volvo Engine Architecture (VEA) family of engines, there are really no details about this mill except that it will be a four-cylinder that is more fuel efficient than current engines.
