I went to bucky`s in puyallup ...
Rip off artists! I went to bucky`s in puyallup to have a muffler replaced(that worked fine but was louder than stock) on a car I just bought. I told Randy that I wanted a quieter larger muffler installed. When I picked up my car an hour later, I noticed the new muffler was exactly the same muffler that they took off only "new". I questioned Randy as to why they did not put a larger and quieter muff... view moreler on like I had requested and he said "it was the only one other than stock that would fit." He lied.... I went to another muffler shop a few days later and they showed me 2 other muffers that fit my car that are much larger and quieter( almost twice as big and packed to quiet the exhaust system) than the one bucky`s put on for the same price installed. I paid them $130 for nothing.... I called Randy after I got the quote from the other shop, and instead of offering to correct the problem, he argued with me again that there was no other option than a stock muffler for $$$$. I gave him the part #`s of the other mufflers and he said he would call me back....I have not heard from him still 3 days later. Stay away from bucky`s unless you have more money than common sense. They are a total rip off!!

What a clown show this place is
What a Clown Show this place is. Having been in the aircraft maintenance field for 20+ years, I figured how tough could welding a couple flanges on a catalytic converter be? Well, when my wife?ˆ™s car catalytic converter?ˆ™s front catalyst became loose and started rattling, I found out the hard way.
A week prior to my visit, I took the converter off to verify that it was in fact the catalyst that was rattling. At tha... view moret time I removed the oxygen sensor which was in perfect condition. I re-installed the converter and oxygen sensor just snug(knowing that I would be removing it again in about a week) and went to Schuck?ˆ™s to purchase a new catalytic converter. The new one arrived about three days later and it is a standard converter without the mounting flanges. I decided take it to a muffler shop and have them swap flanges from the old converter to the new one. No problem, I thought, until I crossed paths with Buckey?ˆ™s stellar maintenance professionals.
Less than 10 minutes after getting the car on the lift the mechanic called me over and explained that the had seen this problem before and pointed to my oxygen sensor. He said they get locked in place by the heat?ˆ¦.I said I just had it out last week and it was fine?ˆ¦.I felt the temperature under my collar going up by the second. I couldn?ˆ™t believe what was just taking place?ˆ¦this guy managed to destroy the threads on the oxygen sensor in a matter of seconds. In fact, this was the same sensor I replaced myself 4 years ago, then removed a week prior to this visit and the threads were perfectly fine?ˆ¦now it is totally destroyed.
Now that my oxygen sensor port on the new catalyic converter was plugged, I returned the universal sensor for a OEM exact fit sensor which will take three days go arrive.
I walked down to Schuck?ˆ™s to purchase a new sensor (wasn?ˆ™t going to let Buckey?ˆ™s sell me one of theirs). Shucks?ˆ™s didn?ˆ™t have an exact fit?ˆ¦.it just gets better?ˆ¦.I need one so I bought it and walked back to buckey?ˆ™s. They couldn?ˆ™t figure out how the new sensor, so they installed the new catalytic converter with a plug in the oxygen sensor port.
My visit, which should have lasted about 45 minutes, took three hours, a long walk to a reputable auto parts store, three hours of my time, the death of a perfectly fine oxygen sensor and $207.00. $107.00 to replace the catalytic converter and $100.00 for a new sensor, that I will have to replace on my own time.
To top off my visit the manager on site at the time took the side of the side of the mechanic (I use that term loosely) and claimed that I had destroyed the threads the last time I installed it. Not only did he question my integrity, but he all but called me a bold faced liar. Unless I?ˆ™m wrong he customer should always be right, that is unless you go to Buckey?ˆ™s.
Avoid at all cost, or at least be forewarned.
