MANAGER DAN IS: RUDE, CRUDE,SELF CENTERED
Where should I begin: This Midas has the worst Manager ever. He is rude, could care a less about what the situation is how you came in the store for service. Not only does he (Dan) try to add on things to bump up the bill that didn`t need to be done but then proceeds to call me an idiot and I don`t know anything about cars or I would not be there in the first place. And I am wasting his time and shop space with my... view more car. Well unknown to him and he ego I happen to own a retail chain and was looking for a business in which I could bring in my work cars. I was going to see how this went so I could bring them all in to have major work done on them all. So Manager ""Dan"" you have just lost one hell of a Huge account and not only will I blog this to all my friends and family I will also see to it that NONE of my 125 employes EVER come into this MIDAS EVER. P.S>you don`t deserve the one star .

I could write a book...
I found this place in Sept 2009 right after moving here. I was sold a bill of goods and a maintenance plan. Some repairs made to my brakes were not only poorly done - the guy left metal bits in the brakes which got jammed in the mechanism, doing more damage. I was ready to nuke their reputation. A month later I saw a ""new management"" sign and decided to swing in for an oil change (and chat with the new mana... view moreger). The new owner was in the shop and we talked for a long time. I heard the whole story about the previous owner`s IRS and legal problems and money owed to Midas, among others. He said he couldn`t refund my oil-change and maintenance plan - but offered me 3 free oil changes (plus the one I was in for). Since then I had a transmission problem on my other car - I took it in and the manager showed me the dirty fluid and said she didn`t feel comfortable flushing the transmission. She recommended a great shop across town - who were able to diagnose the problem that was burning the fluid. Now - they could have easily just flushed it - and then charged me a month later for a transmission. But they didn`t. Last month my wife`s van`s check engine light came on. We brought it to them and they found a few deferred maintenance items (which we knew about) and diagnosed a timing belt issue - good thing... cause the belt was about to go. They fixed it (and the 5-6 deferred maintenance items) for under $1300 (other quotes were for up to $2500). The engine idled rough afterward - and they fixed that for free. My car needed a 120k mile service last month. I had them do the work without hesitation - and the car hasn`t run better. Some folks on here have been posting what bad service they offer. I have yet to have them do anything badly - and when they do make a mistake... they fix it right away and with no charge. The owner even called me on a Saturday afternoon, a week after the service work was done, just to ask what I thought of the 120k mile service and invited me to bring the car in if I had any issues. Even the dealer didn`t do that when the vehicle was under warranty. People make mistakes. These guys know what they`re doing, and they`re committed to running a better ship than the last owner. Give `em a chance and let them impress you like they did me.

Do not go here...
My wife bought a pre-payed plan for oil changes and tune-ups from these guys and I don`t think they actually ever die any work. We were driving to Portland several weeks ago and the engine suddenly seized up and froze. I couldn`t even pull the dipstick out. We had to replace the entire engine for several thousand dollars. There was no oil leak and the coolant was all there. Bottom line ...if these gu... view moreys were doing the regular maintenance this could not happen.

absolute morons
worst decision you are trying to take care of your car, not damaging it. failed to detect any defects and denied any responsibility. not sure why they`re still in business.

New (and Original) owner
I brought my car in for some electrical work earlier this week, and got a prompt fix and a fair price.

This Midas frianchise is under new ownership as of 10/1/09. The company removed the prior franchisee for cause - like the reviews below, and brought back the original owner who had built the franchise and run it up until 2002.

I`ve used this shop quite a bit over the past few years, generally with goo... view mored results, including on some very tough-to-diagnose problems. But not everyone did as well with them.

Let`s see how the new owner does, and let us know about it here - good or bad.

Put my safety at risk - stay far away!
I took my car in because of squeaking brakes and was told I needed new pads and new brakes. I had everything replaced and assumed I was good to go. I was recently in the process of selling the car when a third party inspection told me that the job was not done properly and that they should not buy the car until all items were fixed. I`m not as well versed in ""car speak"" but I know when something is cut and/or le... view moreaking after a break job, it`s not a good thing. I can`t believe I`ve been driving around in a car with brakes that weren`t fixed properly... it`s a very scary feeling. I too will be escalating the problem if I don`t get resolution from Midas. Although I`m not thrilled at the idea of having them ""fix it"" again if that`s what they suggest. I wish I had just gone to the dealer or someplace with a better review. I`ve learned a good lesson.

MIDAS employees are fraudulent.
Like most other reviewers, I was not only ripped off at Midas in Bellevue, but it bordered on fraud.

I read some of the bad reviews on this site before going, which is why I was very skeptical when the manager told me I need all new brakes AND new brake calipers for over $1,000. I asked how much of the brake pad was left, and was told 1/18th of an inch on all of them. I had them start work on the car, then wh... view moreen I returned asked to see the brake pads which had at least 50% useable life left.

Several calls to Midas have so far gone un-returned, so I`m going to be filing a complaint with AAA today.

I`m used to having repair shops like this try to take advantage of me (unfortunately, it`s the nature of the business), but I rarely have a nationwide chain STRAIGHT OUT LIE to me, which is technically FRAUD.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM MIDAS!
