many problems
Vehicle was sold with the following description: ""COMPLETELY SERVICED AND STATE INSPECTED..TRANS ALSO SERVICED..RUNS AND DRIVES LIKE IT SHOULD.. NO PROBLEMS ETC"" Bought the car on 12/11/2009, been in the shop 4 times since date sold. Within less than 30 days these are the problems I have had with the Trooper. 1-Transmission Pans leaking ($406.68) 2-Exhaust Leak ($150) 3-Headlight adjustment ($40) 4-Interior dome li... view moreght ($22.13) 5-Rear shocks are leaking (est. $400 - svc not preformed) 6-Rear gasket of catalytic converter y-pipe leaking (not preformed) 7-Flex joint leaking (not preformed) 8-A/C compressor clutch makes noise (not preformed) 9-New tires (to be expected ~$600) 10-New/rebuilt transmission...a cost of roughly $1700 as of 1/4/2010. I was left on the side of the road waiting to be towed because the transmission started slipping on Christmas break. This vehicle was advertised wrongly. I do not understand how a vehicle ""COMPLETELY SERVICED AND STATE INSPECTED"" could have so many problems. Mike Gerber has not given any advice on how to make the deal acceptable on my behalf. He responded with an email with this quoted: ""this what really makes no difference to you but i was asking 5995 originally on the net.. and then reduced it... and then you offerd me even less than that... i feel that the lowered price would justify as you did some inventual repairs."" He is correct in the fact he had the Trooper listed at $5995 on the lot, $4995 on AutoTrader and I offered $4700 because of the tires needing to be replaced. The price reduction does not justify a new transmission and the amount of work required on a vehicle he stated was ""COMPLETELY SERVICED AND STATE INSPECTED."" A $4700 car will cost over $8000 (total) in repairs.
