In a word ?ˆ“NO! Want more? How about no, no and OMG NO! Grossly overpriced and limp warranty. I called for an estimate, they said bring it in. I drove in and they said they?ˆ™d have to take it apart to give me an estimate, at a cost of $700 plus tax. I had several other estimates over the phone, never heard of taking the tranny apart to estimate. I decided to leave, the truck wouldn?ˆ™t move. I learned this: If y... view moreour vehicle breaks down in the Tanner lot, call a tow truck. Overpriced. They wanted over $3000 for a limp 12-month/12,000 mile warranty and over $4700 for their ?ˆ?Lifetime?ˆ? warranty. I got a 3yr, 100,000 mile nationwide transferable full warranty for $3000 elsewhere. Covers the whole transmission from the input shaft to the output shaft, inclusive! For the Tanner warranty to remain in effect, you must ?ˆ?Have fluid changed, pan cleaned, filter replaced annually within 30 days of annual recheck date at the warrantor?ˆ™s shop. Unless this service is performed as prescribed, your warranty will be null and void!?ˆ? First, guess who pays for this. And next, the prescribed filter change interval for my Suburban is 50,000 miles. Why force me to pay for it every year at less than 15,000 miles. They do pay for the flush, but my owner?ˆ™s manual never calls for a flush. And I bet if you do both at the same time, you pay full price for the filter and fluid change. Warranty. First it is not nationwide, or even state-wide. It is backed by Tanner, (?ˆ?Tanner Transmissions?„? is the warrantor.?ˆ?) and when they go out of business or declare bankruptcy, to be expected in light of their repeated poor business practices, your warranty is worthless. Further, it only covers parts replaced by Tanner during the rebuild (?ˆ?The warrantor is responsible only for the parts and labor purchased by the customer on the invoice?ˆ?). If they elect to reinstall a component and it fails, you are out. That component will take out the rest of your tranny and it?ˆ™s still too bad. If your odometer fails, you?ˆ™re out (?ˆ?the vehicle?ˆ™s odometer must be functioning properly?ˆ?). If your get married and change your name, if you give your car to your kid, if you lose your receipt, you?ˆ™re out. ?ˆ?(WARRANTY WORK CAN ONLY BEGIN AFTER VEHICLE, THIS WARRANTY, AND THE ORIGINAL REPAIR ORDER ARE PRESENTED TO THE WARRANTOR).(sic)?ˆ? If your tranny messes the bed in Cedar City, you have to have it towed to Tanner, hopefully they?ˆ™ll do the work in their Spanish Fork shop and not make you tow it further to the shop that did the original install. They did the remove and inspect, then quoted me grossly exorbitant prices and limp warranties (Oh, Surprise!!). I said oh hell no, I easily found a better deal with a company that has no BBB complaints. I asked to pick up my truck, transfer case and drivelines, without the tranny and tow it to my chosen repair shop. They could throw the old tranny together, I?ˆ™d come get it later, I?ˆ™m just gonna turn it in for the core charge. They would not give me my vehicle with the tranny still out, which would have saved me money at my next repair shop. They said they ?ˆ?had to put it all together?ˆ?. So it took another week to get the tranny back from the repair facility and installed. They didn?ˆ™t care about me, just their moronic procedures. And it cost me $700 plus taxes. But at least I don?ˆ™t have to deal with these shysters ever again

I Trust Tanner To Work On My Daughter Car
Back in September of 2011 our daughter was going to college in Colorado Springs and her 2004 Honda Accord started making strange sounds and had acceleration problems just all of a sudden. Way back in 1990 my husband had a transmission rebuilt by Tanner so with the expense of college we decided that we would have the transmission fixed as opposed to buying her a new car. We went to the Sunset location with her Honda a... view morend the manager took my husband out with him on a test drive. After about 10 minutes on the road they came back to the shop. Tanner told us that they believed that the transmission would at best need to be repaired and at worst would have to be replaced. Just to find out what needed to be done the transmission it had to be removed and that would cost $595.00. Tanner would credit he cost of the removal and inspection if we had the transmission repair there. We weren`t nuts about the inspection charge so we said we wanted to check around before we made a decision. The manager said no problem. We contacted one of Millers dealership and had them take a look at the transmission they made an appointment and after one hour of waiting they basically told us the same thing Tanner told us but with only one option that was twice what Tanner most expensive option was. So we went back to Tanner had them remove and inspected the transmission. Turns out that it just need some internal parts but with all the labor and parts along with a three-year warranty it was $2600.00. The good news our daughter called and has pulled into Colorado Springs, the Accord did great over the mountains. Been a long time since we did business with Tanner Transmissions and hope we don`t have again ""in a nice way"", but when we have it`s been a very good experience. These are down to earth people who are not there just to take your money-in fact, Great place, great people you can trust for an honest opinion and quality work

The Next Morning, My Vehicle Was Up And Running
When your transmission stops functioning and you rely on your vehicle to get you from point a to point b, you start to worry about a number of things, i.e. money to cover the expense and a reputable, qualified technician. Well, my first stop was, silly me, Garf Nissan. The only words that I

Thankyou Tanner Transmissions
The last thing I wanted to do was to buy a transmission. Along with everything else, now I need a major auto repair bill. Well, any way I check around with family and my brother in law had bought a Tanner transmission 7 years ago from the State Street Store so he went with me when I went in to see them. Jim the manager the same guy that fixed my brothers transmission. Jim went out with my brother and me on a test dri... view moreve and told me what he thought was wrong. I went home with my brother in-law and about three hours latter I got a call and the news was better then everybody thought, turns out my whole transmission wasn?t bad and just a few internal parts had to be replaced. Still not cheap around $700.00 with tax but a lot less than a new transmission. Jim the manager at the State Street store is kind of a grumpy old guy but a real straight shooter, he reminded my brother in-law that he was about three years late on his last transmission service. And gave him a coupon for a little off. The reason for the review is that times are tougher then they use to be and Tanner was a good place to go 7 years ago for my brother in-law his old Ford truck is still going good and my Mazda is back on road for a lot less then I could have spent. Tanner Transmissions Saved Memorial Day For My Family
Tanner Transmissions Saved Memorial Day For My Family & Me. My family owns a 2000 Safari Continental. The transmission went bad just before we were headed out of Salt Lake City. We got a hold of Tanner transmissions downtown on State Street. Told them our situation and they got the Safari in right away. Long story short they stayed until 6:30 on Friday so we could have a three-day weekend. Thank you for saving Memori... view moreal Day for My Family & Me. I`m gong to let everyone know on-line. Great Transmission Shop
Great Transmission Shop I just had my transmission rebuilt by Tanner Transmissions and the Steve the manager ask me to write about my experience. The price was reasonable, and the turnaround was phenomenal. I dropped it off Monday morning, they immediately ran a diagnostic and presented me with an estimate. They had the parts ordered by Monday, and the car fully repaired by Thursday afternoon. I was expecting to be o... view moreut of a car for much longer. Their work also included a decent warranty. I recommend Tanner Transmission in Orem or Clearfield for your transmission needs.

Horrible experience! Robbed by the staff! STAY AWAY!
Tanner Transmissions was given my car for a ""free quote"" and they told me after I left it with them that they could not figure out a quote until they remove the trans and send it to the build center. They charged 500$ just to remove and replace. They then quoted 2,700 $ and I regretfully agreed. They took a month to fix the transmission. I went to pick it up and now it was closer to 3000 $ and I noticed they we... view morent outside to call the boss before giving me the keys. The boss came in and gave me the keys. I went to my car and found EVERYTHING was stolen including my stereo, tool set, wiring, fuses, shoes, cds, EVERYTHING! I called the police and they took a report. Nothing they could do. I then look at the charges from Tanners and they double billed me for the diagnostic service. They refused to refund the double billing and refused to call me back. A few days later the transmission started to slip again. The same problem as before. I then checked the transmission fluid and it was never changed, black as tar. I called tanner again and they refused service or to call back. I CALLED THE SLC MAIN OFFICE AND THEY TOO REFUSED SERVICE. THEY REFUSED SERVICE UNDER WARRANTY! I THEN STEALTHFULLY went to a different Tanner Transmissions in SUNSET and the manager could see the fluid was never changed and the trans was slipping. He fixed it under warranty and which took a week but I am glad he helped. Someone (one person) in that company is a decent person. After they fixed the transmission correctly, the bill was close to 800$ just in parts, no labor, and that was under warranty. The company stole everything from me, ruined me for months. After all was finished, I cleaned out my car and found a mechanics rag in my spare tire well. There is no reason they should have been back there and I believe the staff stole everything. It took a long time to do the work they did taking everything out. BEWARE, their policy is to leave your car without a battery connected in an unlocked yard. Your nice alarm system will not work, like mine. And you cant lock powered locks without a battery.
