Bastrop Paint and Body is abso...
Bastrop Body and Paint is absolutely the worst body shop I have ever seen. My wife had an accident in our 2005 Suburban in which only required frontend body work. It was not major, but when I picked up the vehicle, there were several plastic groments missing that hold the plastic fender wells in, the bumper was installed at a angle and not square with the frontend at all, and the bracket from the front core support... view more to the driver side fender was completely missing. They did fix these items, I have to give them that once I pointed it out to them. 3 months later, the Suburban overheated while my wife was driving it in Austin. I had it towed to the dealer and they found that Bastrop B&P did not install the ground wire properly for the radiator fans thus they were not coming on. I then collected the money I spent on this from Bastrop B&P. Now, the vehicle has developed a body squeak on the drivers site in the front fender area. I found the following when I looked into it. 1. Headlight mounting brackets are missing 4 bolts. 2. Headlight mounting bolts that are there are installed in the wrong locations. 3. Passenger headlight mounting plastic bracket is broken and should have been replaced. 4. Driver side blinker assembly mounting clip is broken and should have been replaced. 5. There is a bolt missing from the lower driver side for mounting the grill assembly. 6. The battery tray only has 2 of 5 bolts installed. 7. The missing bolts in the battery tray have caused the windshield wiper washer jug to crack and leak. 8. The bracket from the front core support to the battery tray had 3 of 4 bolts that were loose. 9. The fender was not 100% tightened down at the bottom where it connects to the front core support. I am absolutely appalled at the workmanship of this, so called, body shop. This occurred 2-19-2007 and I am still dealing with it. I am taking it back to them again tomorrow for an ?ˆ?Inspection?ˆ?. It is highly unlikely that they are going to do anything about it, but I am going to give them a chance. What I want them to do is complete tear it all apart again and put it all back together, right this time. I they do not agree to do this under warranty, I will have a different body shop do this, sue them, and file with the BBB. Also, just because I am Texan and I have a lot of window space on the Suburban, I am going to write that they completely screwed me all over the vehicle and drive all over Bastrop. If you don`t have time to do it right the first time, you definitely will not have time to do it right the second, third, fourth,...... tenth time.

The last good post was in 09
If you have a tractor or riding mower that needs body and paint work, Good News! You have found the right place. However if you have an expensive car and want to get it repaired correctly....Dont go here. They no longer take pride in their work or care about the job once the check is signed. A life time warranty will be touted in the beginning, but it all depends on how you react to their work. If you have probl... view moreems with their work, you will not recieve the lifetime warranty. Bottome line, If I could give less than one star I would have. Save yourself time and hasstle. Go to Austin where they know what they are doing!

They do good work and turn it around quickly
I`m more of a regular customer than I`d prefer to be at a body shop, but stuff happens I suppose. I`ve used these guys the last 3-4 times I`ve needed body work and always been happy with the results and been very happy with the service. Although I`d had my Ford F150 and Chevy Silverado repaired there to my satisfaction before, I have to admit I was a little uneasy about taking my BMW Z4 in for repairs. I reasoned... view more that a body shop in Bastrop probably was more adept at dealing with pickup trucks than German roadsters, especially once such as a Z4 with a lot of contours and styling on the body panels. My nervousness was unfounded, however, and they did a great job repairing a significant dent on the door and rear panel. I wouldn`t hesitate to go back even with a high end car. They had a relationship with my insurance company (State Farm) that made it super easy to deal with the insurance claims to the point that I didn`t have to deal with the insurance company at all other than signing a paper when I authorized the repairs. They handled all the dealings with the adjuster and paperwork. As for customer service. They were polite, but also somewhat expeditious. I can see where this might be a little off-putting for the typical Bastropian who is used to the small town chatter you usually get from clerks/service guys around here, but I can also appreciate that they seem to get things done (like your car) much more efficiently by NOT sitting around and shooting the bull all day with people. In the end, I`d rather have my car back quickly than banter with a detail shop guy anyway.

VERY rude!
I called this morning (12/10/09) at 8:27 a.m. and the woman who answered the phone was so rude it was ridiculous! Also, she hung up on me for no reason without saying "bye", "thanks for calling", or anything. RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!
