Simply the best
We`ve been taking our Toyotas to Barrett since we moved to Austin from MN. Our experience is always better than we could have expected. Barrett knows what he is doing and is very honest in presenting needed and optional service or repairs. Holley is direct and delightful. Customer service is over the top - a complete anomaly in any service industry these days. So glad we found them.

Honest and Fair
I have taken my cars to Barrett many times over the years both at other mechanic shops he has been affiliated as well as his current place of business. I can assure you that he is skilled, honest and dependable. He has a large and loyal customer following and I recommend him with no hesitation.

About 28 of these reviews are written by the same person
In my profession I`ve worked on many document fraud cases over the years. There are several indicators we look for right away. The authors ""voice"", sentence cadence, superfluous description, consistency when referring to key components, and punctuation. The authors gender is normally very easy to detect.
It took less than 15 minutes to determine that approximately 28 of these reviews were authored by the sa... view moreme person.
The author is a woman, 34-40 yrs. old, some college, no degree, very active on social networks to compensate for her insecurity in actual social situations.
She took great pleasure in writing these various reviews, saying the words she longs to hear from others in the real world.
All these reviews share a common ingredient, superfluous emotional elation. Men don`t write like that, even if they did it wouldn`t be about an auto repair shop.
It appears as though all the alleged reviewers signed up in groups of five, on the same day, and only left reviews for Barrett Auto, and every one of them convinced they had now been touched by God.
Naturally each reviewer gave them 5 stars.
Repeat process. Repeat process.
Several of the reviews were intentionally altered to look genuine, but the superfluous emotional singing of being saved is still loud and clear.
My daughters car need to be repaired, so I looked on Citysearch. I had my time wasted by Barrett because of all their fake reviews.
I`ve never used them, nor do I plan to. I have every reason to believe they would deceive me.

hmmm could be good?
I am looking for an honest mechanic and this one seemed to get excellent reviews.. but how is it that the same reviews are three different reviews sites.. and when you click on the users they have only ever made one review on citysearch? If they reviewed a mechanic on Citysearch, why would not one of them have made any other reviews? weird.

HONEST & KIND
I had a possible head gasket problem with my car. I am going through a tough time with family problems right now and money is really tight. I didn`t want to drive my car to different shops to get estimates.
Barrett & his wife, were in the area of my apartment, and stopped on by to have a quick look at my car. Barrett was very honest and said that he wouldn`t fix my car, because he wouldn`t fix it for his wife... view more or daughter and feel comfortable with them driving it. The repairs were going to cost way more than the value of the car, so he was very honest and said it wasn`t worth it.
Although, I have never had any auto work done by them before, I know for a FACT that I can trust to take my vehicle there in the future and not get ripped off!!
I can`t thank you guys enough!!

Honest and Knowledgeable
One of my cars was in Austin, I was in another city, with no knowledge of any local garage. The Barretts diagnosed the problem , kept in touch with me as they repaired it, and charged a very resonable price. I would recommend them to anyone.

A++++ Exceptional Car Care Specialists
My husband and I have lived in the area for 9 + years and have trusted several mechanics/garages with our cars only to be disappointed time and time again. Luckily, we found Barrett and Holley and could not be more satisfied with the care and customer service we have received. They are very friendly, honest, and affordable. The Most Amazing Repair Shop EVER!!! Friendly people, and high-quality repairs.
Barrett Auto Repair is definitely going to be my choice for auto repairs from now on. They specialize in Toyota and Honda, but when I called about my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee they were willing to take a look. We had gotten a really high over-the-phone estimate from the local Jeep Dealer, and another high one from another repair shop, in person. My husband had called Holley at Barrett Auto Care and talked to her on th... view moree phone, and since she seemed so caring about the whole issue, we paid the other guy for his estimate, thanked him for his time, and drove on over to Barrett. They didn`t give us any false hopes - they said they`d let us know exactly what they could do due to the fact that it`s a vehicle type that they don`t typically work on. And...they did.
Holley and Barrett were also nice enough to break it down for us - to only fix what HAD to be fixed at the time...and not fix the things we couldn`t afford to fix that were minor and not going to cause any damage. We`re gonna go in throughout the year (or attempt to) to get the other things fixed (as we can afford to).
I`ve never dealt with two nicer people, especially in the Auto Repair business. They are very honest and warm and friendly. You really can`t go wrong with Barrett Auto Care!

Honest, timely, and personal
Barrett Auto Care is top-notch, no doubt about it.
I took my 1995 Mazda MX-6 to Barrett Auto Care with a busted transmission. This husband and wife duo could not have been more helpful. All of my correspondence, whether in person, via phone, or email, was answered in a warm and forthcoming manner.
The service on my vehicle was well done, they found a way to save me some money on a quality part, and the ... view morelabor cost was very reasonable. Barrett himself even stayed a little later one evening so I could come after work and test drive the car. THEN, he drove me home when he determined that there was a little more he could do to get the car running smoother.
In short, the folks at Barrett Auto Care did more than the minimum required to help me out. I will certainly continue to take my car to these exceptional people for any service needed.
