poor service, apparently ASE certified means nothing

After countless problems and returns for mistakes, I refuse to take any vehicle of mine back to this establishment. His mechanics cut corners a lot. Things like forgetting to reinstall a retaining clip on my clutch shift fork, installing the transfer case shift gate backwards, breaking a mounting stud on my Jeep`s transfer case without even telling me or attempting to fix it, using the wrong bolts to mount the ski... view mored plate cross member, not using threadlock on the shift linkage for my transfer case, forgetting to put bolts back in on the transmission bellhousing! - and all this is not even my full list of complaints over Steiner automotive. My mother made the mistake of using them to repair my brother`s car that had a dead alternator, Steiner told us it was fine when my volt meter was showing it wasn`t even charging the battery! I had it rebuilt at Finch`s alternator and it works perfectly now. It seemed like everytime my family got a vehicle back from him, it had more problems afterward then it did before going in. I`ve since began doing all my own work on my Jeep, and amazingly things have stopped going wrong, when I do fix something it stays fixed and doesn`t pop up again within a month`s time. For anyone, I would completely ignore what his plaques say on the wall and avoid this shop, he clearly does not have a grasp on his mechanics and his mechanics do not have a grasp on their profession.

Honest...Reliable...Stands behind work.

Have dealt with David & Jackie for many years. They have always been straight with me and those that I have recommended to them. Never performed work that was not needed and many times saved me money on work that I asked for but was not needed.

Will continue to do business with Steiner Automotive and recommend them to anyone that asks for an honest and fair mechanic.

Most honest

Very honest....will not do any work unless its necessary. Owner and wife very nice...Wish it was more centrally located though...takes me 15 miles to get there....but i know it will be worth it.

Good service from real people

A local auto repair shop that has been around for a long time and grown up nicely. I`ve had servcie there on two occasions, nothing large but unusual requests. They were great - worked with me and I had no problems.

Overpriced
