Excellent Service!!
I am from West Virginia, I broke down on I-40 East in Tennessee just outside of Knoxville last night. I got in touch with my insurance company (Geico) for roadside assistance, and they called Sam`s Wrecker service to come and tow me to the Firestone shop. Sam Luttrell the owner himself came in just a short time to tow us in, since the Firestone shop was already closed he offered to tow us to his place and said they w... view moreould be able to get on it first thing in the morning. This would have been fine even with the cost of repairs, but We needed to get back to West Virginia last night as my father in law had been put in ICU and my wife had to be at work by 8:30 this morning. He called a friend for me and asked him if I could use his place to work on it if I was able to get the parts. He told him yes and so he towed me there, and the people there even went and got the parts for me that I needed, and told me I could use any tools I needed too! Sam was very courteous and acommadating, people do not realize what service people that own their own small business have to go through to please others and just to be able to stay in business. Their costs are a lot higher than big businesses and under a lot more scrutiny from the public, so be kind and try to understand where they are coming from the next time you just want to put them or their service down. Most like Sam are just trying to put food on their table like you and I are, and not trying to get rich off of others!! Thanks again Sam, for the great service that you provided me!!

Great place. I`d send my mother to these guys!
nices mechanics you ever met. not always the cheapest but the work is right the first time. No one trusts towing and auto places these days but i`d recommend them to everyone.

TERRIBLE service
Let me start by saying that if I could rate this company with a zero then I would. I live in Lebanon, TN and Sam`s Automotive is in Knoxville. My car had been towed by AAA (which I am contacting next) to this establishment. My son and I were driving to Knoxville to pick up my car and we talked to the mechanic serveral times about tires we wanted, he called to let us know when he was finished with the car and our f... view moreinal call was to tell him that we were about an hour away which would be a few minutes after 5:00 (they close at 5:00). He assured us that someone would be there so we would not have to drive 2+ hours home and then drive back the next day. Needless to say, NO ONE was at the business (I use the word business loosely). The man who tows cars for them showed up to bring the wrecker back and he called the owner who told us it was after closing and we had to wait until the next day. I ended up getting a hotel, my son went back to Lebanon and the next day I had to get a cab to finally get my car. Also, after I got home I realized that the Jaguar emblem on the wheel was missing. I wouldn`t use this business again even if it meant pushing my car to another automotive repair shop!!!! PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!!!!! YOU WILL BE SORRY IF YOU DO!!!!

Terrible
I had my vehicle towed by these clowns. My vehicle was ransacked..... all my change stolen, my CD.s and radar detector all gone. When I complained, I was treated like dirt. and pretty much called a liar. I will never recommend or use these jerks again, AAA should dump them. I will happily push my car home before I ever call these crooks again

Sam`s Automotive in Knoxville
I took my car in to have it checked for some work I thought that was needed and luckily asked for a quote before the repairs were done. The issues I was concerned about were ok and nothing was needed but they made a suggestion of some work that would be needed. I compaired their quote to 2 other places in Knoxville and they were more than twice the price and one of the quotes came from a local car dealer.

totally ripped off by this towing service
I was in a wreck with my car on cedar bluff, I have AAA. The officer said AAA would take too long. However the truck that showed up was Sam`s Automotive which is a AAA approved auto repair. The very nice gentleman who towed my car told me the fee was 120 for a wrecker charge but that he could probaby get it cut in half. I stored my car at this auto shop for 18 days at 20.00/pday and that totals $360 in storage al... view moreone that I do not dispute. My problem however is that I ask they recommend a body shop, which they did, one right around the corner called Lusk (great people here) and I said ok, I would like them to do the work. The car RAN FINE mind you. They then charged me an additional $150 to tow the RUNNING car 200 yards. They also claimed that the car would not start, which I explained you had to put it in park to start it, which they did and added a charge of $37.00 to put the car in park and start it. I had to pay the full bill of 667.00 to pick up the car. I did not include m y insurance company in the wreck and I did not have collision so they knew I was paying cash for everything. I called and talked to Sam who told me he would be willing to take the title for my car in exchange for the tow-bill. (I have an offer of 1300 from a salvage company already) and I found out later the reason why he wanted the title is because he has an employee at his shop that was interested in purchasing the vehicle for himself!!! So he wanted to rip me off not once, but TWICE. I will be reporting this to the everone I can and to AAA in hopes of having their approval revoked. This is rediculous. Just wanted to let the public know that there is a very dishonest business doing tow-jobs in Knoxville. Call someone else.
