Not Good. Asked for an oil change. Two hour wait. Specifically asked for coolant/fluid check, but they weren`t topped off like every other oil change place has done. In fact they were low. I honestly don`t think the guy even checked and I think this is irresponsible considering the 90+ degree weather we`ve had lately. I went here because of price for tires. I bought the Definity Dakota H/T tires for my truck (Ram), no credit to Pep Boys that the tires are great and quiet with a 60000 mile warranty. I also purchased an oil change and front wheel alignment. They told me it would take an hour and a half - but it took two hours and fifteen minutes. I also had my windows tinted about 4 hours before going to Pep Boys and I repeatedly to... view moreld the service guy NOT to roll down the windows. He wrote it on my ticket but the service men rolled down my driver window. I was livid until I inspected the window and found no damage, thankfully. I got my truck back dirty. Grease on the steering wheel, seats and on the interior door along with an ink mark from a pen on the leather of my console where it appears somebody wrote on something and went off the paper - onto my console/arm rest. I left the shop after having an oil change, new tires installed and an alignment just to discover my truck now pulled to the left, which it didn`t do before. I had to take the truck back on a Tuesday night (tires installed on a Saturday) to tell them that the truck now pulls to the left. This was at 6:30 pm (they close at 9) and the guy told me it would be an hour and a half wait, even though it was their error. I think he told me that so I wouldn`t wait - but I waited anyway because I am too busy to keep coming back. 30 minutes later he brought me my keys and told me what the issue was - they did a poor job at aligning it. He said they corrected the problem. The truck still pulls to the left but not as severe. I`ll have my regular mechanic fix it instead of taking it back to Pep Boys. My advice - buy the tires here - but have them installed someplace else and never get an alignment at Pep Boys.

While traveling through Nashville on a Sunday, my alternator went out. Seeing a Pep boys sign on Old Hickory, I pulled in. They quickly diagnosed the problem, replaced it, & I was on my way.Price was reasonable, service courteous, & I have had no problem since. I believe the technicians name was Joey.

Based on the other three reviews I was rather concerned when we were sent to this site rather than the Charlotte one that we usually go to, but no worries. Jesse and TJ were wonderful. Price was discussed up front and when other things were suggested they were fine with our simply not being able to afford that at this time. My husband and I took our car here to get a tire rod replaced and the front roters replaced. We were quoted $300. After two hours, the mechanics called us and told us that we needed to fix another tire rod and that it would be double the first quote. We declined, which they hassled us about and tried their best to persuade us to spend more money. They said it was harder to get to then they had thought. We paid the money and drove home. Two hours later, we started the car to go to the grocery store and now the check engine light is on. This has NEVER happened before, and we don`t think that it is a coincidence. They obviously messed with something. The car ran great before, NEVER had the check engine light come on. It is scary to think that the mechanics would be so sneaky as to mess with something to make us bring it back in. I am furious with Pep Boys and plan to take them to small claims court and expose their criminal practices to as many people as possible. Please do not take your car here. They need to be shut down. The Bad: I took some used $140/set custom wheels from craigslist in for my `95 Lexus SC400 (not on car) to get the wheels balanced. I was quoted two different prices at different times, one ""package"" for $29.99 while wheels are on a car (includes tire rotation) and another price ($10 per wheel) for wheels not on a car. The reason I didn`t have them on my car is because I really don`t trust anyone with my car and it... view more should actually be easier for them not having them on a car (untighten/tighten lug nuts, etc.) I noticed that my wheels, when I came to pick them up, were not put on top of each other properly. It looked like the wheels were thrown on top of each other real quick, not lined up with each wheel/tire, which could damage the lip/face of the wheels. So, while I had a mechanic help me load the wheels up into a truck, the wheels were set down on the face side, which could cause damage.

The Good: The price for wheel balancing is the best I could find around and some places don`t touch custom wheels. They told me what was wrong with the wheels, that three wheels were bent and they told me the tires were low on tread, too.

Overall: I was satisfied with the wheel balance that corrected the vibrations/bumpiness in the ride. I`m just glad I didn`t bring in a $3,000 set of wheels.
