Took the car in for issues wit...
Took the car in for issues with Air Conditioning not working well/not blowing cold air. First we`re told the compressor was locked-up but then that changed to the compressor had a valve which was leaking bad which still required getting a new compressor among many other things related to it. The total was going to be approx. $750 to completely repair. We decide to get a `second opinion` on the matter and they quickl... view morey realize that the issue was a bad fuse! A BAD FUSE! It cost us $0.75 to fix, the guy laughed about the story. Yes you read it right - 75 CENTS to fix, and the air conditioning is working wondefully now... I don`t know what to think... I just say get a second opinion from ANY shop if the amount is high...

Bad, expensive experience!!!!!!
I recently took my Hyundai Elantra to Hill Tire to get the timing belt changed. A couple of hours later, the shop called to say that the struts were bad. I had not noticed a problem with them up to that point. They said it was ""driveable, and I could just wait to get that done, if I wished."" So, I went back to pick up my car later after they had closed, and when I began driving the car, it was quickly evident t... view morehat the car was NOT driveable!!! I managed to get it home, and called first thing Monday morning. The car was not in even close to the shape it had been when I dropped it off. It felt as if it was going to fall apart at every redlight, bump, curb, etc....When I had dropped it off, it was not like that at all. Hill tire said that, ""when the mechanic put it on the lift to change the transmission fluid and rotate the tires it extended the springs and when he lowered it, the seals broke, causing the struts to totally give out."" He said that the front struts needed to be replaced. ""Okay, go ahead."" Then he called back to say that the rear struts were bad too. He said that all 4 struts had gone bad at exactly the same time, coincidentally in their possession. So.....$954 later, both sets of struts were replaced, in addition to the $459 for timing belt and transmission fluid. By the way, they broke the studs when rotating the tires, we had to pay for that too.

Not only did he lie to me by telling me that it was driveable, but it was not in NEARLY the same shape when I picked it up as it had been when I dropped it off. He claims that all 4 struts coincidentally, totally gave out at exactly the same time when they lowered it from the lift. yeah right!!!! I do not recommend this shop to anyone, as I do not think they were honest about what happened to my car. The past couple of times I have taken my cars there, I have definately come away paying more than I had anticipated. So....let them work on your car at your own risk.....
