Personally I have had a great experience here. I was in an accident last August and towed to this location. They walked me through the process with my insurance, gave me a rental, and repaired my car within a week. About a month ago, the cable to my hood had broken (possibly age, possibly related to work after the accident as my hood had been replaced). They quickly fixed the cable, refilled my windshield wiper fluid... view more, and replaced my wiper blades with no charge. Everytime I have called, they have been very helpful. I will be taking my car there for any future work I need done.

Accidents happen, unfortunately I was recently in one downtown Pittsburgh. Luckily, I was not hurt. The car, however, sustained moderate damage to the front end. The towing service (Stickles Towing) recommended Halbleib`s but only after giving me a clear choice in where I could take my car. They did a great job, professional and on time. The car runs great, the body work looks like the car was never touched. One of the headlights which was replaced had a broken seal (causing moisture in the headlight) and needed replaced again. Halbleib`s stood by their work and took care of it immediately. I was impressed by their ability to place me in a rental car that day and how well they worked with my insurance company. I rarely recommend any one or anything these days because I`m a firm believer in getting quality for your money. That`s just something which rarely happens anymore. These folks were honest in everything they did and I am more than comfortable recommending them to anyone for work. They delivered my car to me where I work in the Strip District (I work in the software development field) when it was finished and saved me a lot of time and hassle. The quality was what I expected. This company is well run, organized, professional and clearly has someone ethical at the top who demands the same of all the employees. I asked some friends who live in the area about Halbleib`s and discovered they`re a large organization with more than 20 years in business.

I first dealt with Halbleibs a few years ago after an accident. They took care of everything for me. Had a rental car the same day. They delivered my car when finished. Since then I had some work done on both of my cars. Each time they came to my house, picked up the car and left me a rental at a very low price or no charge. He took his car that was just out of warranty to a local garage to get inspected. This garage told him that there were several things wrong with his car and it would cost him over $400.00 to repair. He wanted someone else to look at the car and I recommend Halbleibs. He later told me that Halbleibs said nothing was wrong with his car and the other garage may had been trying to take advantage of him. Another satisfied customer.

Got forced into dealing with this place in June of last year. Flash floods ruined my car along with many others in the city. The tow truck operators that work with these people were an absolute nightmare, hooked up my car without my permission, towed it up a hill and left it on the truck`s hook. Came back and told me that he ""owned"" my car until I paid the tow bill, and he was taking it to ""his yard"" (Halbleib`s)... view more. Did this to an elderly couple that was having dinner at a diner along side us. Both the couple and I had AAA coming to tow, and he took both cars without permission. He argued with me and with the couple saying again that we would not get the cars back until we paid him. I called 911 to report him for ""auto theft"". The city police called him over to where they were and he returned and apologized, saying that it wouldn`t cost anyone anything above what the insurance would pay, and they would put me in a rental at what insurance paid. So I thought, why not? Car is totalled anyway. He towed it away to Hablieb`s. THe next day upon meeting the insurance adjuster, who showed me the $900.00 tow bill from Hablieb`s (for less than a 5 mile tow) to my insurance company. Included on the bill... $75.00 for clothing that was ruined (who told him to go in and get the car from the water anyway? Not me!) The clothing that was ""ruined"" was a pair of old ratty work boots (already in bad shape), a pair of standard blue work pants with holes in the knees, and a cut off Tee Shirt, next on the list was a $75.00 charge for ""special equipment"" on the tow.. a tow chain (thought this was standard), and then a $75.00 charge for cleaning of the tow chain. Did I mention that my insurance company had multiple cars here with the same exact tow bill of $900.00? So to tell me this man was wearing over $300.00 worth of clothing to tow cars? Not to mention that they had to clean the tow chain 4 times at $75.00 each? Oh yeah, the rental car that they gave me was in bad condition, and wouldn`t start half the time. I returned it within the three day grace period, put the keys in the night deposit box and got a call from an employee of Hablieb`s, three days AFTER that, saying I was responsible for any charges beyond the 3 day alloted time frame. I told the lady that the car was returned and keys deposited. She apologized for their ""mistake"" Apparently they don`t keep track of anything but their cash flow coming in there. So if you don`t want your insurance company being ripped off, which affects ALL of our insurance premiums, STEER CLEAR of shady operations like this, that take advantage of people that are in helpless situations and turn any insurance fraud into the BBB.

Stay away from these people. I sincerely doubt that they have any technical auto repair training. They will work on your car and you will see the work unravel before your eyes. Spend the extra money and get it done by someone competent. After they screw you they try to sue you! Stay clear!

I really doubt I`ll be there again and will never recomend Halbleib`s Auto Body to anyone.

It looks as suspicious as clearly says whom you are going to deal with

The guys at Halbleib`s are great! We have all of our cars serviced at the shop, and have always had positive results. Prices are fair, and work is done efficiently and in a timely manner. We have recommended them to family and friends, and they have the same results. Shop is easy to get to from all locations of the city too.

I`ve had two vehicles repaired at halbleib`s shop. I had the best experience ever at a body shop with these guys both times. All the employee`s were very kind and professional. The jobs were very thorough, and finished in a speedy manor. I was given a rental car upon arrival and was kept well informed of my vehicles progress. This shop does really good work! I have had 3 cars repaired here over the years and I don`t have any complaints. They went above and beyond my expectations. I couldn`t be happier! I take my cars back every year to get them inspected. Highly recommend!
