I bought another used car at Berg Car Co. Buying a used car is never fun, You don`t know what your getting and how can a dealer or sales person know the cars total history? That being said, There was ALOT of cars to choose from.
The salesman was friendly, steered me towards cars he thought ran well. When I finally picked one out, they let me look up the carfax, and had it detailed for me.
I was given a sho... view morert warranty incase there was any unforseen problems. What more can you want? Its a used car. These guys were trying to be honest and straight forward and still make a profit. The owner and his son were both onsite and overseeing the business. I like that. Good luck!

The warning signs are everywhere, I can`t believe I purchased a car from them. Typical sales pressure to purchase and assurances of after sales service but as soon as the car leaves the lot your problems start and they dont want to hear any of it. Their cars are all purchased very cheap from auction. They ""fix"" them on the cheap so that they will run long enough to sell. I recently bought a 2005 Volvo from Berg. The second day I owned the car the check engine light came on. When I called Berg to talk to them about it, they said it was probably something like my gas tank cap wasn`t screwed on tight enough. Right. Within two months the transmission went out, when I called to complain about the car the two guys I talked to couldn`t comprehend why I was so upset. They both acted like I w... view moreas crazy and recommended that I call their transmission guy. Who I called and he acted like he would be doing me a favor if he worked on my car. He actually said he wouldn`t be making money on this job so it really didn`t matter if I brought my car to him. What kind of customer service is that? After getting quotes he ended up being the most expensive. So to make a long story short I spent $2200 on a new transmission two months after buying my car from Berg.The salesmen at Berg acts uneducated and sleazy. If I had another chance I would, in a heart beat, buy a car from another dealer and spend the extra money to make sure I was buying from a quality dealer.

Like others have mentioned, these guys are unreasonable with their prices. Kelly Blue Book is not a perfect way to assess value but it does dive you a ball park figure. The car I was looking for was Kelly Blue Booked for $3,600 at a Dealership for Excellent Condition. They were selling it for $5,000. I offered them no more then $4,000 and they wouldn`t go for it. Ripoff. Total ripoff. I wouldn`t trust anything coming out of this place. I looked at a car there recently, the battery was dead, the carfax report was incomplete, then they try to rip you off on your trade.

I educated myself well about the vehicle model I was looking for before I went to Berg. The salesperson proceeded to lie and spin the most incredible series of tall tales for nearly an hour. Problems continued to emerge with the vehicle that would require repair(no tread, dead battery, missing CD faceplate, filthy oil, dirty interior, etc.) I told him I only thought the vehicle would be rated ""Fair"" by Blue Book... view more. I had brought a KBB and Edmunds value printout. When I offered KBB ""Fair"" value, the salesman suddenly became belligerent and insisted that those value ""Don`t mean jack"". He insisted the car was a ""value"" at $4000 even though KBB ""Excellent"" Dealer Retail was $3200. He abruptly told us ""no way"" and that our offer was ridiculous. Regardless of how he felt about the offer he could have courteously declined and wished us the best in our search. Instead he was rude, aggressive and insulting.
Berg has a terrible reputation for a reason. My Dad had heard bad things about them before but we decided to stop by because one vehicle seemed especially clean judging from the ad. Big mistake. Not only will I never go there again, but I`ll be sure to tell everyone I know what a poorly and deceptively run business Berg Car Company is. Do yourself a favor and don`t get sucked in by their embellished advertisements or deceitful sales pitches.
