Hourglass Collision was recomm...
Hourglass Collision was recommended by Jackie Cooper Imports as being the best place to take my Infiniti G35 for minor paint and body work. The body was barely damaged, and only a small portion of the car would need to be painted and blended. Bear in mind that no body panels had to be replaced. I was promised by shop personnel that the job would take no more than 3-4 days total. The estimate came to about $1500, ... view morea good indicator that the extent of damage was minimal. Two weeks after the car was originally dropped off to the shop, I am disappointed to find the following: rear bumper cover was fitted incorrectly, 3 NEW scratches on an area that wasn`t previously damaged, a softball sized `orb` where the paint/clear coat appeared to have been burnt in by a buffer. Additionally, the chrome trim piece around the driver`s side rear window had a large scratch that appeared as if it had been sanded, After these issues had been addressed, I found a vertical zig zag of clear coat that looked similar to a paint run. This, of course, required another trip to the shop. This was actually the 3rd time in the shop, which put me in my THIRD rental car. Upon returning from a week out of the country, a friend asks me where all the "swirls" in my paint came from. Again, more damage and oversight on the shop`s part. I`m not sure if they let a trainee loose on my car, but I expect a much higher standard of care/competency when it comes to my $40,000 vehicle, even if it is a CPO. Long story short, I wouldn`t send my worst enemy to Hourglass Collision. They smile and offer you coffee or bottled water in their polished showroom, all the while providing the level of service that one would associate with Earl Scheib`s, or any other budget paint and body establishment.

The only shop I go to.
Hourglass was recommended to me by Jackie Cooper Imports because they have Mercedes Certified Painters and are the best in town. I don`t think anyone should take that advice lightly. Perhaps they are really busy having too much business from luxury dealers but after buying a $40,000 car, I`d much rather have them take their time then to rush me back into my car only to do a sub par job. I think Hourglass is fantastic... view more job, and my car always comes back looking brand new. They deal with the insurance company directly so you don`t have to squeeze money out of them. They are attentive, and always keep you updated on the status. To be perfectly honest, I don`t think I`ve seen a body shop give a car back on time ever so I`m a little shocked at all these high standards. With that being said I also do not think they are grossly late getting the car back. If you want a quality paint job done by the Repair shop where all the luxury cars hang out at, then come here. If you`re going to pout about how long it takes and don`t mind a shop that doesn`t blend the paint into the quarter panels, then this may not be the place for you.

Don`t expect you car back anytime soon
If you need a fancy waiting room, gourmet coffee, and a salesman in a suit to make you feel like your car is going to be repaired right, then this place might be for you. Unfortunately this place gets referred too much business from the luxury car dealers to actually do any of the repairs in a timely fashion. Once they get you to commit to the repair, they know they have got your business and they dont have to worr... view morey about meeting any actual timelines. Look at ALL the other reviews, everyone agrees (even the positive reviews) that they take an unusually long amount of time to do they repairs. They say thats because they ""take the time to do it right"", but in truth it`s because they let your car sit around for a few weeks before they get to it. I have to admit that my car came back looking pretty good, but having dealt with several body shops in the past, I know that the repairs could have be done in less than half the time (maybe a month vs the 3 months they took). Everyday it was some new excuse, first they delayed while trying to get more money out of the insurance company. Then it was the standard ""we are waiting on parts"" excuse that they tell everyone for whom they don`t have an actual excuse. When I asked what parts they were waiting on, when they were ordered and who they had been ordered from (after 2 months of waiting), they talked in circles and never could give me a straight answer. If you have to rely on a rental vehicle while waiting for your repair, don`t bother with this shop

Very Happy!
I Just had my infiniti repaired at the shop on 61st street. I must say that I was very impressed. It was very classy and impressive on the inside and I was even more surprised by the customer service. I have had my cars repaired at other shops in the past and this was by far the best experience. The insurance at fault was very difficult through this process but the staff kept me informed the whole time on what was go... view moreing on and fought to get my car back to pre-accident condition. I feel that this place is definatly somewhere you can feel safe contrary to the other reviews. I never once felt that I was being lied to or cheated.

Delay Delay Delay
Games, delays, and the runaround. Don`t expect your vehicle to be done on time. Don`t expect to get the full story.

The very best in customer service and efficency in the repairs of my BMW 750LI
Contrary to the last post about this company, my experience was just the opposite. I knew from past repairs i`ve had done, and other customers that I have spoken with, that Hourglass would take the time to repair all the damage. The repair took over 3 months but well worth the wait. When repairing a $80,000 vehicle I want them to take their time. Johnathon kept me informed at every turn. I never had to wonder ... view morewhat was going on with my vehicle, I knew. Hourglass has a great reputation and they deserve it. I would highly recommend Hourglass to anyone having their car repaired. It doesn`t matter if it`s not an $80,000 BMW, they are still going to take the time and get the repairs right. Thank You for my great repairs Hourglass Team.

Worst shop in town
Had my car for 4 weeks, all the while telling me just another couple days. Finally got it back paint doesn`t match, overspray on the trim, chip in the paint. Avoid at all cost apparently they have too much business to care about the quality of their work.
