Tried to charge me 785 for a front wheel bearing that didnt even need replacing. dont fall for their lies.

I am disappointed with Hook & Tire. My daughter took our truck in to be fixed to pass inspection, instead of fixing the problem they cut and spliced wires in the wiring harness to the evap sensor to get the check engine light off ( it was the only thing keeping it from passing inspection we were told) We returned the truck when the computer shorted out ( it was the original problem) they rewired and spliced again... view more truck for new computer we purchased (fixing the first problem) the truck work awhile and then quit working no one knew why so we parked truck for a year and a half 1/2. Decided to have truck rebuilt and found it that is was because of Hook Tires rewiring a wiring harness - we would be going through another 3 computers at $180 apiece over the next 21/2 years. Looks like we`ll have to replace a wiring harness and another computer due to their inept work and failure to take responsibility for their mechanics workmanship.

I gave them a call to see how much they would charge to turn my rear rotors. When I asked the person that answered the phone he transferred me to someone in the garage (it seemed so from the background noise). I asked him how much it would cost to have my rear rotors turned. I knew it wasn`t going to be a good price when he asked me what kind of car it was for - no other place I called ask that and it`s not a neces... view moresary question unless they want to overcharge you (hmm, he has a bmw, I can charge him more and he`ll pay it"".) Anyways, after I tell him it was for a BMW it took what seemed like forever before he gave me a quote (probably 30-40 secs, which didn`t make sense to me then but now thinking back on it was probably because he was looking up what a BMW dealership would charge). He quoted me $110 if they had to take it off my car. I asked how much it would be if I brought just the rotors to them. He hesitated and said ""Uh, $70 I guess"" Crazy when I can buy 2 brand new rotors for about $110. These guys are crooks. I called Meineke Car Care in Cornelius and they told me they would do both for $25 total. Most places I called would do it for $80 or less if they had to take it off my car. I know prices vary some from garage to garage but this place definitely does not seem very honest. If my car were to break down in front of this place, I would have it towed somewhere else.

I like going to a place where i`m recognized and valued for my patronage.went ther three times this past year and always felt welcome. they listen to my needs and offer reasonable solutions. work quality meets my expectations. the staff is friendly and pricing is good!

First visit, alignment get a call telling me I need additional parts to complete the alignment, I`m in a doctors office so I tell them to go ahead. Go to pick up the car and they tell me they didn`t need the parts but were still charging me the labor for them.
Second time same car, this time I`m waiting. Same basic problem except they don`t know they can adjust a part and I tell them they can, they say they only c... view morean with $60 in parts, this time I leave and verify that the adjustment can be made and make an appointment to have the work done elsewhere... NEVER To RETURN

Inept or Crooks? I don`t care. I know enough to do 99% of my own work, I just don` t have the equipment to do a modern alignment. I want people that really know what they are doing which these guys obviously do not!

I always rate places when I have visted them and yesterday was my first time at Hook Tire. I will be a long time customer. Very friendly, very affordable.

Would not recommend this shop to anyone. I have never seen such a lack of customer service in my life. I found the manager to be very short and unfriendly. The business could take some lessons in customer service or customer care.

This place is great. Very helpful. They do not try to rip you off on unnecessary work. Reasonable prices. They dont even charge to look,especially if your a returning customer!!!I get everything done here. I drive all the way from Charlotte to here!!! Experienced mechanics.
