The BEST Auto shop around!!

So I was driving to work on Thursday and all of a sudden my brakes started grinding really bad. I was obviously concerned. I knew right away that I needed them repaired. The big problem is that prior to picking up this used car a few months ago, I had been leasing cars for the last 10 years. I did not have a mechanic that I trusted. I have been driving past Great Bear for 10 years so I thought to take a look at s... view moreome of their reviews. After reading them, I decided to walk over to the shop. I was immediately greeted by Audra and Sherri with smiles. I asked if they could service my car today (Saturday at 10:30am). Audra told me that she could. I was relieved so I went home and got my car. Within 20 minutes of pulling in, I had a quote for what was needed. The quote was very fair for the work that needed to be done (more then just breaks) but beyond my budget. The gang at Great Bear helped me prioritize the work and brought it down to what I could spend and still keep my car running safely. The work was done in less then 2 hours and I was ready to go..... and yet I found myself still at the shop at 6pm. Why you ask? Well, I found the way Audra operates intriguing. She runs a free workshop for women called ""What women AUTO know"" She invited me to stay and participate so I did. Audra did change the name for the day to ""What People AUTO know"" for my benefit. I left the shop after 7 hours educated and elated that I had found my new mechanic. I will be a client for as long as I own a car. In fact, when I go back to leasing cars, I will still service them at Great Bear.

poor service

What a disappointment!!! First, they are very impatient. I went in around noon. no customer there. But they told me that they are very busy while 2 auto mechanics sitting in the waiting room for nothing and 2 other mechanics busy ordering lunch. What a great service. They also rushed me to make decision and very rough when answer my questions. I went in for a NYS inspection, then I was told I need all 4 tire... view mores changed and replace my rotor and brake pad in order to pass my inspection. They quote me more than $800 of repair. each tire is $133 and change brake and rotor is $280. Very expensive. what a rip off for NYS state insepction!!! I will never go there again.

I can`t say enough good things about Great Bear Auto. They are fast, friendly, and most of all honest. Before doing any work, they will explain exactly what is needed and let you make an informed decision. They will never take advantage of you and will always make you feel right at home. Great Bear Auto Review

Highly recommended!! I would say those two words over and over again to anyone asking about Great Bear Auto. I wanted to avoid the other auto shops like Pep Boys, Midas, etc. I read lots of negative reviews about those places and I was very relieved when I found the Great Bear website and read many positive reviews. You are told exactly what is wrong with your car and you aren`t forced into any unnecessary repairs. The parts needed were delivered fast and the repair was done in under an hour. I was pleased with the prices also..... very fair. Overall, this was a very satisfying experience. Do not hesitate to bring your car in for whatever you may need. You wont be disappointed.

Better than the best

It is so cool that WOMEN run this amazing, straight shooting, fair priced, no-BS, massively knowledgeable shop. I came here from Manhattan after trying to find a decent auto repair shop. BELIEVE the 5-Star Rating

My first visit was for an alternative to my dealer`s overpriced quote. Was dissatisfied with my previous mechs of late, and skeptical of the glowing reviews here. Now I am posting my own. Great local repair shop.

Great service ! This is a family owned business, friendly atmosphere and they were really nice to me. They would not try to rip you off. The best, friendliest service. Make you feel like your not being robbed. Everything that was done to my car was explained to me step by step. Ive been to other places but will only go here from now on.. I was even bought lunch while I waited. Family atmosphere.
