Thanks for an excellent Job
I`d just like to thank the guys at Village Auto Center for their fine work and their help, when I was in need. My grand daughter was visiting from Georgia and had a problem with her car. We called for towing service and expected only the worst. The guys from Village Auto not only came immediately, but fixed the car on the spot. Great Detailing Center
The best detailing center, the best service, after detailing my car was like new , thanks. I would recommend this place to anyone that needs auto maintenance, inspections or any car service.

Top of the line service
I was skeptical at first of this place, because I went to the address 190 Leroy St. and it was closed; Auto Village lost the lease to 160 Leroy St. However, I had set out to get my car cleaned up; it is an old `99 BMW car and rather dirty from all the grime on the road, so I dialed the number given on CitySearch.
Auto Village has moved to a temp location. They now offer a pickup and drop off service. From he... view morere on, it was a breeze. To get a pickup, call Charlie on cell no., (917) 412-4731. Charlie came to pick up the car at an arranged time. He is very knowledgeable and experienced in the auto business. When he was here to pick up the car, I walked through everything I would like done with the car on top of the usual cleaning, things like covering up scratches, oil change, brakes and even the lock on my trunk.
Upon return, I was amazed with the result. The car looks virtually new, nothing was left to ask of the job. Anti-rust was put on the scratches and covered up with touch up paint, the tire rims were polished and on the inside, everything was in order. The car looks just gorgeous. The engine was washed, with filters replaced, fluid levels were topped up. The trunk was vacuumed.
As for prices, it was about $100 steeper than most places but worth it. $268 for the detail and $40 for the scratch touchup. I had also an oil change for $100, using BMW synthetic oil. I did not do the brake change and lock change but Charlie had walked through the prices with me. He contacted the BMW dealership for parts, and truthfully told me the labor price, the part price, and why I should go for BMW parts. He also told me I could go for something cheaper but would not quite work as well. In the end, even though I chose not to go with the further servicing, he was very polite and professional about it.

Best Detailing Center
I frequent this auto center on a regular basis. They are always very friendly and attentive to my needs. I`ve also gotten my car inspected there and I did not have any long waits or disrespect like the previous reviewer. Not only are they extremely friendly they do a great job detailing my cars. I`ve taken my car to other car washes in the city and they are more expensive and do a far less superior job. Village auto center has been my service center for years.
I have had everything done from oil changes and nys inspection to even replacing my engine.
I feel thier truely one of the finest people around.
I thought it so unfortunate they closed there location in manhattan, I thought I would be going crazy looking for another shop that I can accually trust, but when I found out they have had another 2 locations... view more for over 20 years with the same outstanding reputation, and that they had moved to the one in Greenpoint, including most of the employees, it was quite releaving.
It took alot of looking into but I found them. The name is Two Guy`s Auto. The same owner Gary.
There just over the Williamburg bridge into Greenpoint Brooklyn, at 302 Mcguinness blvd, on the corner of India st. I know it`s a little further but it`s well worth it.
At this point I`ve only stoped by to say hello, and to ask why no advertising about thier move.
But at least I feel secure knowing I have a place to go that I can trust.

Avoid
Avoid if you can. Was promised a quick and easy inspection (and a free car wash). 1-1/2 hours later my car was still sitting idle. Only after I threatened to depart did they jump into action. They made every excuse in the book for why it wasn`t ready. The real reason was because they attended to more profitable car repairs that arrived long after my arrival. Avoid car repairs here.
I`ve been coming here for a while to get oil changes and carwashes.
When my car broke down, I had it towed here, since I live in Manhattan. I was over-charged for the repairs to start with - I checked the prices on the web on the dealership site.
After the repairs were made - alternator and battery, I took the car home.
After reviewing the receipt, I noticed that the alternator was not brand new, but a rebu... view moreilt on even though the price for it was clearly for a new one. This was NOT discussed at the time I approved the repair cost. I called the place back. They told me they could replace the alternator for another $50 with a brand new one. At this point, I don`t trust them anymore. Avoid this place. TOTAL BILL - $620 for a rebuilt alternator and a battery.
