BEST SERVICE STATION IN BAYSIDE

I was very pleasantly surprised today when I received a call from Nor Bell Service Station about my car. I had some work done on it months ago, and recently I noticed a small problem with it. When I brought it back, I expected the usual service station run around saying it needed more work. Today, the call I got was that the car was repaired at no charge. NY State Inspection refusal

I had to get 2 cars inspected for the NY state inspection. After the first was done he said the second would go into the shop in 5 minutes. John also recommened the first car get about $800 worth of repair but I told him I would get a second opinion in a couple of days. When I showed up 10 minutes later the second car was still not into the shop and John said something like: ""I don`t have time for that car today"". ... view moreI said: ""You just said you were going to take it in, I see it is because I refused to give you work today on the first car!"" And then he said: ""You haven`t done any business with us and I have some really good customers"". He was just upset I didn`t give him the work and so he refused to get me a NY State Inspection on the second car. I just took my car key and left but that is the man`s character.

Under new management but a bunch of crooks

I had AAA tow my car there after the tow driver told me it was affiliated with Nor-Topia on Utopia and Northern. I was well aware that the problem was the starter but Joe suggested he need to the diagnostics which I agree to do. He quoted me $270 for the starter and $150 in labor. I checked 2 local autoparts stores including Autozone which had the part for less than 150 and finally found one for $100. Joe refused to ... view moreput the part i bough in and charged me $80 in diagnostics +$30 for storing my car overnight. We`re in a recession and I realize l everyone has to eat, but c`mon thats unreasonable. I will never be a customer there again, not even for gas. I re-towed the car to Nor-Topia and they put the starter in for $80 with a smile. I broke even in the whole situation but its the principal. Joe shame on you its only a matter of time before the neighborhood catches on.
