At all costs, avoid these dbags
Went into this store today after my belt snapped on my Bmw, yes its BMW, but its an easy fix. They wanted 200+ to fix it. I had them remove my car from the rack and called for a tow..while I was waiting for a tow I decided to kill time by removing the broken and twisted belt from the pulleys hoping I could get to the point where I could throw a belt on it at autozone. The shop manager comes out and asks me how it was... view more coming as if he were genuinely concerned with my well being. I told him that it was coming, just waiting on a tow. He tells me that he is running a business and that I cannot ""work"" on my car and i would have to leave.. i would have to drive my disabled vehicle on the edge of blowing a head gasket off his lot with my 2 year old in the back seat. Luckily I`m smart enough to figure this out, which is also the reason I didn`t give this CROOK 200 bucks to put a belt on a vehicle with spring loaded tensioners. I had to drive my car an additional 2 miles to an autozone to wait for my tow while shutting the car down to keep from over heating along the way. Avoid these guys. I listened to this guy try to sell 4 other people on crap and jacking up the proce for a tire. CROOKS! buy local, avoid the chains at Ll costs. TIM the little man that made me and my daughter leave the lot in a disabled vehicle, did I mention it was 30 degrees today? Dobbs down the street is crap too. 30 bucks to look at a belt. Wow.

Great people, Good work
I`ve tried a number of different dealers and shops (e.g. Dobbs) in the area and the Firestone guys are by far the best. Some of the dealers were just as nice, but the prices were, well, dealer prices. They couldn`t compare.

The Firestone team was always very fast, professional and did a great job at a very reasonable price. On two separate occassions, I took cars in for the same problem to both Dobbs and Fi... view morerestone. Dobbs made me wait to be seen and then had estimates that were double or more than what I got at Firestone.

My cars and my money go to Firestone!

Incompetent, misleading and da...
Incompetent, misleading and dangerous Firestone Ellisville misrepresentation the damage and incorrectly installed an unneeded part, which could have led to serious damage and even loss of life. First, this is not a Firestone Company Store?ˆ¦.it is apparently owned by: Shobby Akbani. 9/24/2011 I needed a tire repaired. I have done business with Ellisville Firestone for several years. A sales representative named ... view moreTim was the person I dealt with on me. Since I tow a 14000-pound fifth wheel trailer with my 2007 Sierra Diesel Crew Cab standard bed, I am very particular about good tires and maintenance. I decided to purchase all new tires. I requested the highest load range that was equivalent to the factory E Range, 265-17 tires. I was told that the Michelin LT2657017 MICH LTX was the best tire for the truck and towing and the highest load range available in that size tire. The spare was a different size tire with ta steel rather than of an aluminum rim and Tim recommended a lt265/75R16 123R Transforce A/T BL. I purchased all five tires and had them installed and balanced with a rotation, balance, and alignment and lifetime rotation and balance guarantee. A little later, Tim called me and told me that I must have hit something on the road and it wrapped around the axel and punctured the boot of the axel. Tim said the joint was throwing grease everywhere. He said I was driving on a ?ˆ?dry join?ˆ? on the right front side and he recommended replacement. He never mentioned that I could have the CVJ boot replaced. Even if he had mentioned the possibility of replacing only the boot, there is no reason why would I consider replacing just the boot since I had just arrived home from towing over 5000 miles. How much of that was on the dry joint no one could tell. Since I trust the lives of my wife, and my family to this truck I want nothing but perfect or near perfect mechanical condition. Not to replace would be insane. Tim new that I pulled a 37.5 ft. 5th Wheel trailer weighing around 14000# loaded. I said if the joint is dry that it has to be dangerous. Tim said he could fix it that Saturday morning, August 24, 2011. I said if it is a?ˆ? dry joint?ˆ? and I was towing I wanted to take no chances and please replace it. He recommended a remanufactured part. I said no way was I trusting my life to a remanufactured part. He said let me see if I can get a new part. He called back in a few minutes and said he could get a part and it would be ready later that day from Jim Butler Chevrolet. I orally consented to the repair per Tim?ˆ™s recommendation. However, I said I wanted the part he took off the truck. The cost for the new axel, labor and delivery, shop supplies and installation totaled $1,164.79. Today is Tuesday September 27, 2011. I have driven the truck about 5 miles to my house from the Ellisville Firestone Store and parked it. I drive it almost exclusively for towing. This afternoon I cut the boot open to see just how much damage was done from driving on a ?ˆ?dry joint?ˆ?. I found that the joint was far from dry. It was ?ˆ?packed with grease?ˆ? and appeared to be perfect inside. I had the joint checked at Bommeritto GMC in Ellisville and it was perfect. 11/4/2011 ?ˆ“ The axle feel apart. Bommerito discovered that it actually did not break it came apart at the inner Constant Velocity Joint boot. The reason: the two nuts that hold the right front axle tube/housingto the frame were missing. Firestone either did not put the nuts back on the studs or they the nets were started on the studs and never properly tightened.Firestone had installed the boot on 9/24/2011. The truck had 70,535 miles on it. When it failed on 11/4/2011, the mileage was 71,033 miles. Thus, it failed exactly 502 miles after installation. Of that 502 146 miles was towing our 14000# 5th wheel travel trailer to Shelbyville Illinois.

I`d questions them being the best shop in town
MOFitz comments sounds like an inside comment to me. I`ve used these guys a bunch, they`re ok, nothing special though. I`ve talked to some independent mechanics and they tell me they`re overpriced. i`ve taken my car to Ellisville Firestone and have felt overcharged, also they didn`t fix one problem they swore up and down they did. Keep in mind these guys are on commission, the more they fix, the more they get pai... view mored. I have to tell them up front don`t sell me anything other than the issue I`m bringing the car in no matter what, but they still try to upsell me. they`ll even use words to induce fear- like ""your breaks won`t last another month"" or ""your tire is about to fall off"". Caveat Emptor!!!

Incompetent
I had noticed that my car seemed out of alignment but never really looked at the tires themselves. Two weeks ago they rotated, balanced and aligned my tires for routine maintenance.

I just took my car to another shop for my state safety inspection- it didn`t pass because I had 2 tires with cord showing. You would think that a tire store would have noticed and mentioned something about the tires being bald.

THE best shop in town
I have had problems with my older car a couple of times in the past 3 years. Initially, I bounced from shop to shop as issues arose. On one occassion, I visited the Dobbs right next door and quite honestly, questioned their diagnosis and estimate, so I pulled on over to Firestone.

Not only did they fix the problem in short order, it was done for 80% cheaper than the original estimate. In each instance sin... view morece, I have worked with Joe at Firestone from the start. Even when the problems are big, Joe does everything to minimize the impact, let me know what has to be done now and what we can put off (and for how long). I couldn`t be more pleased with the service, quality and price I get from Joe and his team and would highly recommend them to anyone needed help with thier vehicle.

Not a Corporate Firestone Store
With any Corporate Firestone, if you are a credit card holder the standard oil change is 19.99. NOT this store. Their oil change is 32.00. Whether you are a Firestone credit card holder or not. Give me a break. Do you they really think anyone would go there for an oil change for 32.00 !!!!! Its always something with this Firestone. They have see my business for the very last time !!! A Very Unsatisfied Customer... view more !!!
