Sleazy people. Will lie to your face. Beware!
I don`t know who these sales tactics work on but I guess they wouldn`t be employed if they didn`t. We narrowed our choice on a specific car. We got an offer from a different dealership but decided to go to HC, since they were closer, and to offer them to sell the same car to us for a comparable price. We call them and ask them if they have this car on the lot. They say: yes, several of them. We go there. The guy we t... view morealk to (Keith?) has the sleaziest demeanor. His entire desk is full of pictures of his family (and by full I mean like 20) and awards saying ""master of excellence"". I`m sure he has a Ph.D. in Awesomeness, too, but he doesn`t have physical space to display that. He tells us we want a good car, which everybody wants , but the trouble is (wait for it!) no dealer in New England has it. He is able to check that. No, really. Since we had an offer we told him we would check that other place first... unless he wants to give us an offer. He says that other dealer is lying to us that he has a car and that he needs to go and check if they will be able to get that very rare car for us and THEN we`ll talk price. Let`s pause for a minute. Suppose you`re a Honda dealer and you honestly don`t have a relatively popular car. Wouldn`t you start your day by calling whomever and find out when the next arrivals will be? I mean, you do expect customers inquiring, don`t you? Of course, you would. Either he didn`t have a car or he knew he didn`t want to sell it to us at the price that we wanted. Either way he was lying to us. So he left the desk, and we checked our emails for a while and then we simply got up and left. I know they think if they waste enough of our time we will feel like we owe them for the big trouble that they went through on our behalf. Like I said... I guess it`s working on some people. Why else would they try it on us? As we were walking to the door the receptionist tipped the salesman that we were leaving and he ran after us but we didn`t stop. He called me like 8 times and I didn`t answer. We went to that other place the same day and bought the car. In summary: do research online, BID ONLINE. Don`t ever go to the dealership without a firm price promised and a VIN of the vehicle that they say they have. Never trust a car dealer to tell the truth. Doesn`t mean you should fight them. But if the only way you know something is through them telling you then you simply don`t know it. Always, ALWAYS, be prepared to walk out at any stage. Some people say, signing should take hours. FALSE! Tell them you will walk out if they do one wrong move AND MEAN IT. They will do ALL paperwork in less than an hour. Most of us want cars that are in abundance. Understand that and you will immediately understand that you should be the one in charge during the whole process.

Terrible Customer Service
I had a very unpleasant experience with this dealership. I went in to the dealership on a Saturday for a scheduled test-drive that I had confirmed three times during the week. I hate it when dealership or companies in general abuse your personal information. When I spoke with a ?ˆ?Product Specialist?ˆ? about the car I wanted to test drive, I honestly told him that I was not thinking of purchasing today, but in a fe... view morew weekends when my family was going to be in town. Quickly, the attitude of the ?ˆ?Specialist?ˆ? changed and he said he had to go speak to his manager about the test drive. Apparently, since I was not a customer of high enough immediate value, they could not help me, since Saturday is one of their ?ˆ?busiest?ˆ? days. As I looked around, I saw 1 or 2 customers, with 4 ?ˆ?Specialists?ˆ? doing something on their computers (they were not crunching numbers, a young ?ˆ?specialist?ˆ? looked like he was just surfing the web). They told me to come back during the week from 9am-9pm, and I told them I had specifically set up this appointment week ago as my work schedule has been extremely hectic recently. I basically felt like if I had lied, I would have gotten immediate cooperation and they would have had no problems with helping me find the car I wanted. But because they were ?ˆ?busy?ˆ? and I was not a customer of immediate value, I got treated like a hobo. This place should be avoided at all costs and I recommend looking elsewhere if you looking for an Infiniti dealership with decent customer service.

WARNING: The Epitome of Extremely Subpar Customer Service
If I could give no stars I would. This was the absolute worst service that I have ever encountered in my life. The mechanics indicated that would need a new transmission, which is a costly $3000 service. However, another mechanic checked the transmission fluid only to unveil that it was very low and black. Hence, how is that they decided we needed a new transmission without even checking the transmission. Th... view moreen the service manager told us if we went to get a second opinion, we would not be able to get the quoted price. Super shady! When went in to speak with the service manager (Paul), he was extremely condescending, chauvinistic, and a borderline bigot. My friend left the dealership in tears. Here is the kicker: She has been getting her car serviced with them for over a year and they were supposed to be topping off her fluids which they never did so the entire problem with the transmission arose from their negligence. Don`t do it to yourself. You deserve to be treated with dignity and respect as a customer, and you will not receive any such thing with Herb Chambers Honda on 1186 Commonwealth. Update: Subpoena was filed!!!

Great service, nice people!

I am surprised to read negative reviews about the Honda dealership. We purchased a new Honda a few years ago. Until today we use their services for routine maintenance and other problems as well. The stuff is VERY respectful, friendly, and helpful. Service is excellent and performed in a timely manner. Never had any delays or mishaps!

Disrespectful, inefficient staff
I recommend not going to Herb Chambers to purchase a Honda. We were treated disrespectfully, given misinformation, and had to deal with long waits while at the dealership. Our actual experience appears below in greater detail. We visited Herb Chambers with the intent of buying a used Honda Accord. At our initial visit, we were made to wait a total of 3 hours. In between looking briefly at cars and a quick test dri... view moreve, the salesman attended other customers, talked with his supervisors, and made a single photocopy. Their service was incredibly inefficient. After we selected a car we liked, we were offered a reduced price by a manager (down from the dealerships` initial price of 16,000 to 14, 000), however, when we attempted to negotiate based on external damages to the car, we were told negotiation was impossible, even after we showed the sales staff that the car was priced at 13,000 by the NADA. We were told by one staff person that the car was about to go on auction, and by another that the car had just arrived and wouldn`t be auctioned off for another 30 days. We needed a car immediately and decided to go ahead with it. The salesman responsible for bringing the car to our mechanic for an inspection was 45 minutes late, and when we indicated that he should have called, he replied by shouting (literally) ""I`m not your slave!"" and being incredibly hostile. We talked with his supervisor, who agreed to handle our paperwork from there on out, but who was unwilling to make the few affordable fixes to the car that our mechanic recommended, even after how we had been treated by the sales staff. Don`t go to Herb Chambers, you can do better.

If you want to end up at the police station, buy your car from these idiots.
This was my first car buying experience and last with Herb Chambers. I ignored my gut and bought the car from these guys because I needed to get it done quickly; total disaster:
First time - shady: I was scheduled to pick up my new car at 2pm. They pretended they didn`t have the correct insurance information because I went through a different insurance co. than the one their shady finance guy had suggested. It wa... view mores going to ?take awhile"" for the paperwork since I insisted on using my company and was told to come back later.
Second time - 911: I return later that day at 6pm and waiting patiently ? for an hour. They tell me that my car has been stolen and I have to go to the police station to report it. I have not been given the keys so I have not taken ownership. They disagree and insist that I go with them to report it. The cop taking the report agreed with me and made the slimy Herb Chambers Mgr fill out the stolen car report. They give me a minivan to drive until they ""find"" my car.
Third time - no charm: I get a call that my car has been ?found?. It was ""taken mistakenly"" by someone from Enterprise. They give me two options: I can take the ?stolen? car that now has an additional 70 miles on or I can take another car. The new car I choose is conveniently not available. So, just wanting to put it all behind me, I take the ""used"" car. They say they will credit me the miles - they still haven`t.
Fourth time - WTF: I get a call the next day. The car is still listed as stolen and has not been registered properly. I have to bring it back in ASAP. They say they will have my car for me Monday morning. I confirm twice - it will be ready by 9am Monday morning. Yes, they lie.
Fifth time - Done: I go Monday morning to pick up it up. Not ready: ""registration is never done before 3pm"". Livid, I ask to speak to the general manager, who is completely condescending and rude. No apologies.

WOW- I cant believe people arent happy....
I have never posted any opinions about anything on-line but I have to say I have had wonderful experiences with both sales and service at Honda - herb Chambers. In fact one of the reasons we continue to buy Hondas is because of the wonderful service. Also just a note to all - unfortunately we do not write about our good experiences normally - only about the bad so take all the bad comments with a grain of salt.
Melissahegartty / 5/16/2008

worst experience ever.
these people claim to take care of you. however they are extremely rude and full of it. They try to pressure you into everything that is overexpensive and not worth it. I will never EVER go to any Herb Chambers dealer again. I got the same car I was looking for in under 45 minutes at BOCH honda of Norwood at the price I wanted. 4000 DOLLARS UNDER WHAT THEY QUOTED ME AT HERB CHAMBERS. I highly recommend skipping any ... view moreHerb Dealer unless your ready for drama and nonstop phone calls from customer service for 3 weeks after you have washed your hands of them asking how your service was. NEVER EVER GO TO HERB. go to ERNIE.
