this very busy shop is known for their knowledge of transmissions and diagnosing the problems. I took my car to NE trans. I exspected to get treated differenet since I am a woman, but they exsplained the problem and fixed it within 2 days. I brought my car to AAMCO and they wanted double the price, and treated me like a dumb blonde.... Thank you New England Transmission for fixing my car and the respect I deserv... view moree. I took my car to New England Transmission for a free diagnostic. After a quick test drive my fear of needing a new clutch was confirmed and attached to a $700 price tag. I took my car to AAMCO, in Alston, for a second opinion. After a comprehensive diagnostic, they said my clutch and transmission were fine...long story short, $178 dollars later my car is shifting like a dream thanks to AAMCO. Hi, i was looking for a place to fix my car`s transmition when i was driving i saw New England Transmission unfortunatly i stopped by to check the price and the quality of the work the price was perfect the quality work the only way to find out is after they do the job i dropped of my car to have the transmission fixed after 2 days they called me saying the transmition was done i got the car back i drove it down the ... view morestreet when i felt the transmition wasnt running normally so i went back they said i need to drive it a couple of miles more to have the mechanism adjusted inside the transmiton so i got back on the road and after a coupple of weeks i had a broken transmition again so i called back they said to come back for a diagnostic after 2 days the diagnostic (was a computer problem they call this computer ECM) but i questioned him what he said about the way the transmition was runnign in the beggining and he got real mad so he said if you would like it take your car to the dealership and have them diagnostic it again if you dont trust me, so thats exactly what i did i went to a ford dealer and they diagnostic the car and it had a problem in the transmitions clutch and not in the ECM like New England said so i called New england back to find out what they are going to do about and they didnt accept the dealers diagnostic so now i took my car to another transmition company and they had the transmition rebuilt again and the car is running perfect now and they did not change the computer of my car its still the same one they only thing they did is redo the transmition again THANKS AMMCO TRANSMITIONS FOR FIXING MY CAR

I REALLY DONT RECOMMEND THOSE GUYS FOR NOBODY EVEN FOR MY WORST ENEMY,MY STORY START WITH MY TRANSMISSION AFTER LOSE REVERSE.I WAS LOOKING FOR BEST DEAL SO I FIND THE DAMN SHOP,THEY LOOKS VERY NICE PEOPLE,SEEMED LIKE I FOUND THE RIGHT PLACE TO FIX MY TRANSMITION GOOD PRICE BEST AROUND SO I DROPPED THE CAR OFF TO GET IT FIXED. I`m not sure what that guy is talking about in that previous comments,but I feel New England Transmission had the best customer service I have ever experienced. Excellent!!! Great people!!! Quick and fair service compared to other transmission shops I was looking at. I would go back there in a heartbeat!!!

The transmission in my car was slipping... These guys had my car for a few days and when they finally got back to me informed me that the transmission needed to be rebuilt... ""I can do it for ya for $1900 or $1700 cash... I said i had to think about it for a bit... Upon calling back with another question, described my car as the tan Toyota corolla, they instantly put me on hold... ""Hang on""... i waited for a coupl... view moree of minutes to hear the voice on the other end ""its still here!"" then hung up... didn`t answer my question but i was afraid to call back...


charged me a $150 for diagnostics

i drove my car to another shop... they checked it over... diagnosed it for free... it was a throttle position sensor and burned transmission fluid... cost me $160 and my car has never run better...

they would have rebuilt my transmission (or not rebuilt it and just changed the Throttle Position Sensor) and charged me for work i didn`t need....

Thanks New England Transmission...

New England transmission of North Cambridge has been around over 50 years at the same location so I think they must be doing something right. I know everyone over there, they are a hard-working honest bunch of people they are the only ones that work on any transmission that I have and many of my friends. No one in this world is perfect things do go wrong, they stand behind what they do if they are given a chance... view more. we broke down on the highway going north for vacation after making several calls to the""transmissions franchise"" they would not give me no prices over the phone and the time days to repair trans. i called new england transmission they gave me a good price over the phone free tow and they repaired the car the same day .what a pleasure
