Very unhappy with this place

My girlfriend took her car to Arlington Tire this morning (03/29/2011) as there was a wobble coming from the rear end. Having done work on cars I figured it was in need of a couple of rear tires. She went there and they talked her into getting two new front struts, oil and filter change, new front and rear wipers and new air filter!!!!!!! The tires were $179.98 - fair enough. They didn`t even charge her for th... view moree installation....that is because the rest of the bill came to $850.58!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ! I went up there to talk with `Nicky` the manager. He wasn`t there, just the mechanic who did the work. He showed me the struts. Sure, the right hand one had blown a seal. The left hand one was fine and didn`t need replacing. However, replacing the struts was not necessary. The problem was that she never asked the struts to be replaced but they insisted it was necessary. She trusted their advice. I went up to Arlington Tire to pick up the car. I complained loudly to the mechanic who called Nicky. I told him they had ripped her off by talking her into work that her car didn`t need and I was going to write a review accordingly . After I hung up, he called back the mechanic and told him that if I was going to leave an unflattering review he was going to sue me for slander....nice!!!!! Arlington Tire are down in the sewer of car repair. Selling my girlfriend goods and services she didn`t need. What a cliche. Of course, I will never go there again and I would recommend to anyone contemplating pulling into to Arlington Tire to save themselves a few hundred dollars and go to somewhere more honest and reputable. He hung up on me, immediately called my girlfriend at work and told her that I had threatened to stop payment on the repair. Complete lie. I offered him the chance to do the right thing but instead he chose to call my girlfriend and mix things up with lies. Good doing business with you Nicky...I hope you have a nice day!
