The present site occupied Midway Automotive at 411 Brockton Avenue in Abington has been in use as an auto dealership for some 40 years. Abington Subaru was at this location for over 30 years, closing its doors in 1996. The connection between Abington Subaru and present day Midway Automotive is not so obvious, though. The former general manager at the Subaru store was Phil Infiorati, a Vietnam veteran and experienced car business professional who hailed from Maine. In 1981, Phil hired a 17-year old lad from the neighborhood to work as a -lot boy. - The lad worked hard; he parked cars, swept the sales lot, went for coffee, and performed any and all manner of jobs that Phil could create. Neither had any idea how things would evolve over the years and, certainly, neither imagined how the roles would change. You see the young lad Phil hired as a -lot boy-was Abington`s own Mike Deveney, the owner principal of the present day Midway Automotive. One of first things Mike did was to bring Phil back to the new Midway Automotive as General Sale`s manager. Now, after thirteen years in business, Mike and his wife Lucy are reminiscent of the old- fashioned American success story. They worked very hard to develop and maintain an exemplary record of customer service at Midway. Great place for auto repair!!

The Midas shop at 76 Arsenal St. in Watertown is under new ownership. The new staff is very professional.
I had my car serviced here and it was the best auto repair experience I ever had. Anyone looking for car repair in the Boston area should visit this shop. I know I`ll be going back.

Don`t fix your car at Midas

I had my Honda Civic for replacement of the muffler at Midas. When I got the car back, the new muffler was almost dragging on the floor. I pointed that out to the mechanic and he literally lied to my face: It was like that before and is supposed to be like that. Not minding that a similar Honda Civic was just standing next to mine with the muffler where it belongs. I then had him look with me under the car, and I no... view moreticed a large piece of metal wedged into the rubber hanger. It turns out that the piece was wedged in because otherwise the muffler would have touched the floor of the car. Further research showed that Midas tried to attach a wrong muffler to the car, which then obviously didn`t fit. I actually had to laugh. But seriously, I have never seen something so stupid in my whole life. There is a saying among mechanics that I usually like: Don`t fix it if it ain`t broke. To Midas I have to say: Don`t break it if it doesn`t fit. If you have your muffler repaired at Midas I can`t help you.

Midas broke my car!!!!!!!!!

Midas broke my car!!!!!!!!!
They broke my new car oil filter ring and oil leaked for a month. I went to Midas to fix my car but they say all is not leaking and they didn`t do anything wrong. The engine oil keep leaked and I had to pay $80 in dealer serveice to fix the problem.
