A while back, I took my car in to have the steering rack replaced. After being told that the frame of the car had to be straightened in order to get an alignment done (even though the car was perfectly aligned before the rack went out), and paying twice what I was originally quoted, I picked the car up and drove home. Since the shop had closed for the weekend shortly after I left, I had no choice but to baby the car home, doing about 20mph in the breakdown lane. I took the car to another mechanic the next business day. He called me in to the shop and directed my attention to 3 holes where there should have been bolts. The entire rack was being held on with the remaining bolts, which were also dangerously loose. I called Westside and after a lot of arguing, was declined a refund. After numerous rounds with the owner and the BBB, I was told that in order to move forward with the BBB, I would need to pay for half of the cost of a mediator. After losing my shirt on the repairs already, I wasn`t willing to cough up another 500 bucks, so the BBB closed the complaint and filed it as ""resolved"". I assure you, however, that the problem was anything but. I would never allow anyone at Westside anywhere near my car ever again. The mechanic was a hack, and the owner was...well, I doubt this site would allow me to publish what I think of him. I`m only giving Westside one star because it won`t let me choose none.

I have been dealing with Westside for twenty years and the srvice has always been great. always got me right in and the car has always been repaired correctly and the prices have been very reasonible. Very sastified

We took my 71 VW Beetle in for some work. We were very excited about this shop and Steve was great. When we went to pick up my Beetle Steve had retired due to illness (this was a definate loss). There was miscommunciation so when I took my car home to find out some of the promised work that I thought I had paid for(alot of money ) had not been completed.
I tried to resolve the issue with the owner Larry and he was... view more awful. Like the previous poster he yelled and cursed at me before I hung up on him. He told me it was my problem that there was miscommunciation on behalf of his shop.
Needless to say I would NEVER recommend this shop to anyone. They are overpriced and the gas tank they put on is leaking like crazy because they did not connect it properly. I will be going some place else from now on. BEWARE of this shop!!! In this time of a bad economy there are plenty of reputable shops that will do good work, provide exceptional service and take my money.

Took our 87 Honda Accord to them because was told carburetor having same problems again (they rebuilt it 2 years prior). Would start idling fast, dying out after warming up, and hesitating when driving off after coming to a stop. Instead of working on carburetor, they said they replaced an ignition switch. After being told to return at least 5 times to get it fixed (but was turned away each time) we decided to get outside help from local agencies - to no avail. Westside has since refused to give a refund or fix the problem as promised. We stopped trying to negotiate with them after the owner got very angry, loud and harsh in speech during a phone conversation. We`ve used them for auto repairs for over 10 years, but evidently things have changed. Auto service centers get away with this type of treatment way too often and nothing is done about it unless you have, or can afford to get, a private atty.. :(
