Most Honest - Great Service in Cedar Falls

I have to respond to the 1 stars. I have used Tuffy`s now for over a decade. In the past two years (as my cars have aged), I have taken them in for: 1) Head Gasket. Greg and his team repaired same day and for $300 less than I was quoted from two other shops. 2) Oil Leak (different car). He said that for the speed of the leak and engine type to not worry about it - just put a quart in ever 3 months. Guess ... view morewhat, NO CHARGE! Talk about honest. 3) Car towed in with a locked brake (had work done elsewhere). Greg personally called the other shop, and fixed my problem for $50. He instructed me to go over to the other shop for reimbursement --- the end of they day my charge was $0. Yes, they tell you upcoming maintenance. You know what, cars are mechanical and will break. The will also be honest and tell you how urgent it is. They will say in the next 6-12 months budget for new transmission fluid. Your timing belt is 10 years old, look at replacing that sometime in the future. So, out of all of them I trust Greg...not to mention you can`t beat their oil change/tire rotation for $25.

Warning!

I have given Tuffy`s several chances, and they have now lost me as a customer. Going into this shop, Greg and the staff seem like they are a bunch of nice guys who are looking out for your best interests. That keeps up until an oil change turns into a recommendation for an $800 fix (every time). If you do choose to go to Tuffy`s and get a recommendation for additional work, make sure that you get it priced by someone... view more else (L&M Transmission does great work). Oftentimes you will find it much less expensive (in my case, one fix was almost half the price and more parts were replaced), and will get a true idea of the problem and options, not just Tuffy`s trying to scare your checkbook away from you. Bottom line: Unless your hobbies include burning $100 bills/ and or being lied to, Tuffy`s is probably not the place for you.

New Problem Every Time

I gave the guys at Tuffy`s three chances to get things right but they always manage to send me out with a new problem!!! I`m telling you now that it may cost more but go to the actual dealer of your car and get it done right!!!! Tuffy`s is great at making things seem like they aren`t there fault and I actually believed them the first two times but THREE TIMES!!!!!! Learn from my stupidity PLEASE!!!!
