Doesn`t stand behind his work

My car was brought in to have a catalytic converter replaced. The mechanic on duty did so, and the owner told me I also needed the O2 sensor replaced. When I drove the car off the lot, the car was behaving as if it was not getting enough gas. I pulled over, called te shop and was told I needed a tune up and bring it back when I could. I had a tune up done, that was not the issue. I took it to a certified mechanic, wh... view moreo put the correct O2 sensor in the car and showed me where the sensor put in by Versatile had been altered to fit which was why the car wasn`t getting enough gas. When we called to discuss this, the owner was full of excuses and refused to work with us on making it right. I have filed a complaint with the BBB.

Hello, my name is Andy Mullins and I am the owner of Versatile Automotive. I feel I need to comment on Robert Calli`s review. Mr. Calli did bring his 2002 MR2 Spyder for a complete custom turbo system. Mr. Calli came to me in Dec. 2010 and went over all of the specifics of the build, the Turbocharger selected to use would not be released for sale until late Nov. early March 2011. The Turbocharger arrived in March, Mr... view more Callli dropped of his vehicle. The materials (Stainless Steel, Flanges, Intercooler, Aluminum, etc.) were ordered and the project began. Several issues came forth such as supply issues because of the type of vehicle and engine he has, several pieces had to make for this application, this takes time. I explained this to him. Every time he would call to check progress I would tell him 2-3 weeks because that is what my suppliers told me. Progress was made on the vehicle until the next obstacle came forth. Mr, Calli then started showing up at my place of business with friends causing conflict in front of other customers, I had to tell him to leave on two occasions ( I guess this is where he says I was hostile). The main reason the car took so long was because of the computer modifications necessary to run the car and remain emissions compliant. There are two ways to do this on this particular vehicle, one costing about 2000.00 which was out of his budget the other being about a 6-9 month process. Mr. Calli was informed of this. The second week of Oct. I still had not received the computer back, Mr. Calli got very impatient (understandable) and stated he was going to come take his car without paying for the work that had been done. I then told him that he could not take the car until the bill had been satisfied. He showed up with the Police and the officer had a chance to see how Mr. Calli has been acting and instructed him that he could not take his car until the bill had been satisfied. The car was complete except for the computer of which I credited him the cost of the modification cost and he will still receive it when it is complete. Stay far away from this place.

I took my car there to have some work done. Almost a year later it is not complete. After complaining, the owner told me he was done with my car and was going to charge me $100 a day to store it unless I payed him that day in cash. I had to have my car towed home. Every month I was told that my car would be ready in 2-3 weeks. When I made a fuss about the time, he would get hostile with me. Don`t trust this pla... view morece!
