I went to this place to get an estimate on repairing my ac. They charge $40 for an estimate. They check it out and the guy tells me, "good news, your compressor doesn`t need to be replaced". "It just needs some seals and valves replaced and you will be good to go". The total cost will be $360, and we will deduct the cost of the estimate from the total. So I bring my vehicle back a week later, the... view morey fix it, I pay the money. Then the guy tells me, " you`re going to need a new compressor, that one is not going to last long". I ask, how long are we talking...a year, 6 months? He says, I don`t know, two or three months maybe. I tell him the only reason I had him fix it is because he told me I didn`t need a new compressor, otherwise I would rather have replaced it instead of wasting money on a temporary fix. He says " I don`t want you to feel you wasted your money, bring back your reciept when you`re ready to replace the compressor and I`ll take care of you. So I call him a few days later to find out how much a new compressor is going to cost me, he says $600, parts and labor. I ask what he is going to do for me since I already paid to get it fixed once (at his recommendation). He tells me, "well the regular price would have been $800, but since you came in before, I`ll take $200 off....I feel like I was completely ripped off and would never take another vehicle to this guy, but hey...you be the judge.
