Stay away at all costs for smog check and oil changes,
anybody can wash a car and do a good job and friendly customer service goes with out saying if you want to keep
suckers coming back.
Took a company vehicle in for an oil change ,1st one at 3000 miles on new vehicle, they tried to sell new air filter and said plug was stripped out and they had to replace.
I got the old one back after a search ... view moreand it was fine.
Next incidet was when my wife took in our 2005 CAMERY for a smog check and it did not pass due to engine check light, which was not there before the test.It passed the emmission part.Themalfuction code was p0500 which is ""vehicle speed sensor malfuction"". They wanted $90 to diagnose problem and the more money to repair. Smartly she refused and brought the vwhicle home. Checked online and found this is a common problem with Camerys due to the sensors are on all 4 wheels , when they test they have to configure the computer to""non-disengagable traction control"" and perform ""2speed idle test"".
I Drove the vehicle and did 2 restarts and the warning cleared .They will not ok smog cert. unless they repair.
They are either incompetent or rippoffs, or maybe both,you decide for yourself. I think both.

only place we go!

my husband and i are new to San Diego and we set out on a mission to find the best and most trusted mechanic shop in all of San Diego. We asked a few of our new neighbors and colleagues and one shop was mentioned a few times. Prestige seemed to be recommended highly by a few of our new friends and by our neighbor who works for Cal-trans and said that this is the only place his family trusts with all 3 of their ca... view morers. He also mentioned that they fix or service the orange caltran trucks of theirs that we seem to see everywhere. Long story short, my husband and i google this place and this site pops up, we looked over the comments and headed out their way. As we arrived here we were surprised to see a car wash, an oil change and a mechanic shop all on one lot, and how busy the place was, its a great set up they have there. Very Busy business`s usually mean they are doing something right. just to mention we saw 2 orange trucks from caltrans here, we think they look funny but thats just us. we park and step out and are promptly greeted by a manager. we told him its our first time there and that we needed an oil change. he helped us find our way around, and took our information and the cars information for the oil change. theres no secrets here, they have a BIG price board on the front of the building with all the oil change prices on it. they took our car in and got it up in the air and started working on it within minutes. We were excited to find out that we receive a FREE car wash with the oil change, and it WASN`T in the back of some shady building, they have a cool car wash where people can watch the guys hand wash their cars from inside, and we did. we chatted with the cashier while we were waiting and he was very nice, knowledgeable and had a great personality . He handed us a coupon/ promotion paper with a bunch of deals which is always nice to save money. our bill shows up at the counter and the tech tells us every thing is fine, they also did some inspections with the oil change at no cost. we like free things!!! the car wash came out great, they vacuumed the inside, washed it and cleaned all our windows. we were surprised to find some quarters and nickels in our cup holders that was not there when we pulled up. The employees that vaccumed our car found the change under our seats and put them in our cup holders... at this point we knew that this the only place we will ever go, very friendly service, still surprised about the money under our seats were put into our cup holders, and the prices are very fair for their services. They recycle the car wash water. very cool! this place was highly recommended by many and it lived up to it. Thank you to everyone that helped us out. I never expected the level of service from any business as this place has continuously provided. Last week during the outrageous rain storm, my neighborhood flooded and all the water seeped into my car and basically ruined it. My first problem was my car would not start, second was I had a pool of water inside. There was about 6-8 inches of dirty brown water inside. I called and spoke with Paul, who was very professi... view moreonal and nice, and I explained the entire predicament to him. I was expecting a response around the line of (bring your car in and well look at it)... Surprisingly he offered to drive over to my house with one of his techs and try starting it here....
Paul and Tim showed up in about thirty minutes and after Tim did his magic they started my car. Tim drove my swamp of a car back to the shop and I went in Paul?ˆ™s car to stay clean. After my car was inspected at the shop I was informed that there was actually minimal damage done to the engine or mechanical parts.
Another aspect that impressed me was that they detailed the inside of my car to perfection. The swamp was gone, my carpets and mats were clean, seats were spotless, and I was amazed with how fast everything was taken care of.
In short it took around 2 hours from the time they got to my house, made my car work, got it back to the shop to inspect it, fixed the problem, and detailed the inside to perfection... I never expected this service to be preformed this fast at this quality.
I would like to thank Paul, Tim, and everyone at Prestige that contributed to the process of making this entire process quick and very affordable.
The management and staff here are amazing and I highly recommend and urge everyone to take their cars here.

Crooks

To the person who said, this place cant be that bad. Well it is, I took my Miata for an oil change and they stripped the oil drain plug, blamed it on the oil pan. Told me that I had to buy a new $500.00 oil pan, refused to accept any responsibility and gave me no other choice for repair. After speaking with my Normal HONEST mechanic, they put in a rubber drain plug and I left. My mechanic also confirmed that THEY str... view moreipped the pan! I filed complaints with the BBB and the Bureau of Automobile Repair. Buyer beware if you continue to use their repair center.

Best Family Car wash in San Diego

This car wash not only made my car look and feel like new again inside and out but provided great service. I felt like i was truly taken car of as if i was a member of their family. this place has it all, and everything with a reasonable time. whether you need a oil change or car wash, they can do it quickly. I am so happy to find a place i can trust to do my car maintenance without worrying if they are ethical. overall this place is a great car stop

I have been a loyal customer here for over 10 or 15 years, much has changed over time in the Kearney mesa area as well as prestige. I read most of the other reviews and many of them seem to be a bit fishy, but im not here to investigate if rives are posted by true customers or by competitors trying to place defamatory comments on this business since it has been around longer than any other business in the area. I use... view more to always go to have my automobile washed since I never wanted to do it myself, and since then and now the prices have been very fair. I use to question my self weather or not I wanted a car wash to do my oil change let alone the repairs on my automobile. I looked into the repair department and found out that all the mechanics or technicians there all had their AES certificates (or whatever its called) witch basically means that they have a degree on working on automobiles. So I took a chance about 8 years ago to have them do my oil change, and everything came out alright. Eventually I began to have my repairs and maintenance done here and I have never had a problem. I know this business is trustworthy when I see the volume of people that go there, they seem to always be busy. I commonly see Caltrans vehicles, police vehicles, and several of other business automobiles being serviced there. In short I believe this a good place to take your automobiles to for whatever your needs maybe. In regards to the other reviews, if half of them were even true, no business would still be standing. Go check it out for your self and im sure you will come to the same conclusion as I and many others have.

Worst customer service ever

The initial carwash contact is perpetually confused, and arbitrarily assigns a price for the service. He is not an English speaker. Despite ordering the same service on multiple visits, I have been quoted a different price each time. The surfer behind the register said all pricing is ""at the discretion"" of the first contact.

On my last visit I requested a regular wash and added tire dressing. The toweler refused to add the tire dressing and two ""managers"" also refused. Difficult to believe they would give up approximately $15 a week for 50 cents worth of tire dressing. My last visit was my last visit.

UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES!!!!!!!

Have taken my cars here for ten years. Okay service. Convenient. They stripped my oil plug and refused to take any responsibility. The Owner is arrogant and a coward when it comes to debating the problem. He hides behind the service agreement you sign when you get work done. This relieves him of all responsibility. The best oil change and car wash combo ever!!!

They had impressive customer service and an outstanding job was completed on my Lexus. The oil change was completed much quicker than any lube bussiness, using top of the line products. Also the free car wash offered with the oil change was an unbeatable package for the price. Overall, the thorough service and attention to details is definately unmatched by any dealership in San Diego. I highly recommend it to all.
