STAR FORD LIVES UP TO THEIR NAME TREATING YOU LIKE A STAR!
In the days when customer service is a thing of the past - Star Ford in Glendale is run like a ""Mom & Pop"" shop. After having a TWELEVE HOUR nightmare experience at the closer SUNRISE FORD in North Hollywood to buy a new truck - I ended up contacting TONY BALL at Star Ford and told him exactly what I wanted, what I would pay - and that I wanted to be in and out within 30 minutes or I would walk! Not only did I ge... view moret the truck exactly how I ordered, but he came through with the 30 minute deal! A year and a half later - any time I had a problem - I was not just treated like his most important customer - I am still being treated like a family friend! Yesterday I had a problem that was not covered by warranty - Tony Ball took care of it without me even asking - saving me about $1500.00! WOW - if that doesn`t put him in my will - I don`t know what will! This company didn`t just treat me right when I was spending money for a new vehicle ( FORD F150 PLATINUM) - they backed it up with FIRST CLASS Customer SERVICE - You just don`t get that any more. I HATED my experience with Sunrise Ford - and LOVED my experience with Tony Ball at STAR FORD - and that is why I would ALWAYS recommend them as the ""go to"" dealer for an experience you won`t forget! Take the time to drive the extra mile - you won`t be sorry!

Avoid 7 days a week
Scam artists. Thought I`d take my car in to the dealers for major maintenance because who would do it better than the dealer, right? Rrriight. Would have been better off doing NOTHING but a regular oil change. Same exact result, but without the $600 bill, the hassle, the wait, the unending spam mail and getting lied to repeatedly about the work ""done"" by a supposedly reputable dealer.
This deceitful, unscrupulou... view mores business (since citysearch won`t let me call them their real name) will see not a penny from me ever again. 0 stars. Even the name is B.S... missing the 0 in front.

P.S. Hey, citysearch, how come 4 out of 6 people gave these thieves a rating of 1 out of 5, but your average is still 3.5? Did you let ""0 Star Mazda"" give itself a 15 star rating behind our backs?

Scammed me out of $1400!
They charged me $1400 in labor only and used the word ""overhaul"" on the repair invoice for my transmission.
Phil told me I had a warranty.
Turns out, I don`t have a warranty because they never replaced a part.
I know now that In order to overhaul a transmission, you must replace at least the bolts that hold the transmission in place. They never replaced a part (not one!) therefore never overhauled my tran... view moresmission but, oh boy, did they charge me for it!
That is fraud.
Gary the service manager is foolish for not making good on this issue.
Rick the mechanic doesn`t know what he`s doing, unfortunately. He wanted to replace my perfectly good clutch...even I knew the clutch wasn`t the problem.
And Phil is dishonest and will let you down.
I have since paid nearly $3000 to have the car repaired properly at Galpin Mazda.
I have filed complaints evrywhere I can.
The Bureau of Automotive Repair did their best but couldn`t get Gary to see how they mislead and scammed me.

It shouldn`t be like this.
Dealers should be the BEST...but they are, without a doubt the lowest of the low.

Rip off artists
I was quoted $85 for a brake diagnostic; my boyfriend was quoted $40 for the same thing. When I asked my mechanic why he was quoted less than I was, he said ""That`s what I quoted you, so that`s what it`s going to be."" Fortunately the manager told me it should be $40 and reduced the rate. However, the mechanic also told me I needed front and rear brakes, for $450; my neighborhood place told me I only needed rear,... view more for $155 - my front brakes were fine. Seems to me these guys are looking to rip people off - my advice is STAY AWAY.

Terrible customer service, lots of problems...not recommended
The previous reviewer is right on - the service used to be outstanding until a couple of years ago. I`ve been doing business with Star for over a decade and have purchased/leased half a dozen vehicles through them for personal use and my company. After the past year of having consecutive probelms - I`m done. They don`t return calls, fail to follow up on service problems, and are in many cases plain rude. One tec... view morehnician told me that I shouldn`t expect a call back on a problem - that it was my responsibility to follow up and see if the part came in! It took them THREE months to order a stock radio and kept my car for two days in order to install it.

Save your time and wits, avoid this place.

So Sad - Not What They Used To Be
I used to love the service at Star Lincoln Mercury Mazda back in 2002-2003. Now in 2006...not so much. Their Customer Service no longer exists. No one ever called to let me know the status of my car repairs. They originally told me it would take one day, but three days later I called and found out they didn`t have the part they needed. They suggested I pick up my car until they got the part ordered. A month la... view moreter they finally got the part. I would not have known the part had come in if I had not called. In fact, sometimes I would call and they sounded like they had never heard of me or my car. Also, Star gave me a different price for car rentals than Enterprise was willing to offer. So sad. They used to be good.

Urban street machines
All right, so they`re just Mazdas. But if you want a Mazda, this is the place to go. The service is very good -- though I felt as if I might have been treated a little better had I been with an older man -- and they offer very reasonable trade-ins on used vehicles. They will try to upsell you -- and no Mazda needs a spoiler -- but they`ll also help you find exactly what you`re looking for. There service waiting room ... view moreis all right, too: Get there early, and they`lll give you donuts while you wait for the free shuttle to drive you to work.
