I purchased my 1998 R1200C in ...

I purchased my 1998 R1200C in 2000, from the Venture BMW, same location as Bogarts. It was always fun to visit, which I did often. When it became Bogarts, a lot of the personal interest in customers went away. Hmm...then their business went away. Upon discovering that a new owner was operating in Birmingham, I decided to try it out. I called and ordered brake pads, front and rear, for my bike. All details were ... view morestill in your data base. It never occurred to me that I needed to specify that the front brakes had dual discs, calipers, and pads. I thought the DEALER would know that! When the brakes came, I started the installation with front pads, only to discover that the packing box only contained one set of pads for the front. Although I had not disassembled the other caliper, I`m still left with the potential for unpredictable braking responses due to the extreme variations between left and right side caliper pad thickness. Knowing that a trip to Birmingham was coming within days, I decided to visit the new dealership and pick up the missing parts. Upon arrival, I was greeted at the front door by NO ONE! An individual sitting at a desk, playing with a computer never looked up. My wife and I wandered around the showroom, looking at the sparsely furnished floor plan and the slim accessory offerings. By the way, I have been considering the purchase of a new helmet(last one came from Bogart), but there were none to look at. I finally found the young woman that helped me over the phone when I ordered parts and explained to her what had happened. She remembered our conversations and was very friendly, but could do nothing to help, since no more pads were in stock. To make matters worse, I found out that I had to pay an additional $70 for the pads. Since my prior bill($140+/-) had included front and rear pads, an oil filter, and a crush ring, I thought there must be some mistake. All other offerings on the internet are half the price or lower than what the shop was quoting, and after the clerk went back and forth to the back of the shop several times, I gave up and ordered the additional set of pads. Then, I had to pay an extra $15 to ship the pads to Auburn. If the order had been processed correctly the first time, I would not have needed the trip to your dealership or the second shipping of parts. Needless to say, I am very disappointed in my first trip to your dealership. You may be the only dealer in Alabama, but you are not the only option that I have. I am about ready to have some service work done to my bike. Tune up, valve adjustment, ABS repair, anything else the mechanic sees that the bike needs. I would like to replace some chrome plastic that is pealing. Should I risk another poor experience with your dealership, or just take my bike to Atlanta?
