I WAS TRAVELING THROUGH MOBILE, AL. WHEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY TRANSMISSION STARTED TO DOWN SHIFTING, ME NOT KNOWING ANYONE FROM THERE I CALLED THE LOCAL DEALER AND HAD IT TOWED IN 4 HOURS LATER THEY TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. WHEN I GOT THE QUOTE I WAS SHOCKED SO I GOT IN THE LOCAL PHONE BOOK AND FOUND A COMPANY CALLED SPECIALTY TRANSMISSION AND AUTO REPAIR, THEY SENT A WRECKER OVER AND PICKED ME UP AF... view moreTER ABOUT 30 MINUTES OF DIAGNOSING FROM THEM THEY DISCOVERED I DIDN`T NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION ALL I NEEDED WAS A NEW ALTERNATOR SAID IT WAS PUTTING OUT TO MUCH VOLTAGE AND THE TRANSMISSION COMPUTER HAD SHUT DOWN BECAUSE OF THE HIGH VOLTAGE, THEY PUT A ALTERNATOR ON MY CAR AND GOT ME ON MY WAY THE SAME DAY AND AFTER 780 MILES MY CAR IS RUNNING GREAT. I WANTED TO DO SOMETHING SPECIAL AND LET EVERYONE OUT THERE KNOW THAT THIS COMPANY IS VERY HONEST AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANY ONE THAT IS TRAVELING OR LIVES IN MOBILE, AL. Do not take your vehicle here!

I was completely unsatisfied with the service iI received at Specialty Transmission & Auto Repair. I was charged over $200 to get my transmission fluid refilled. The job was supposedly completed in about and hour and fifteen minutes so I was charged for two hours. I am sure it could have been done in less than an hour. I was also charged for "cleaner" and a "new gasket" which I was not given the option of saying yes ... view moreor no to. After one of the mechanics finished test driving my car he walked in the door, handed me my keys, and walked back out without saying one word. Also, the lady at the front desk is extremely rude and incompetent. I would not recommend this business to anyone.
